Hi guys!
This is my first post on this forum and i just need your opinions about sockets and enchant for my pve muti rogue.
I know that agi is the best stat for rogues, but due to 4/5t9 bonus and after the recent boost on Envenom, is possible to improve dps with AP gems/enchs instead of agility ones after reaching ~41%crit, ~390 haste and over 4200 ap unbuffed?
I got these stats with a full gems/enchs agi gear, Death's Choice + Greatness trinkets. (My 4/5 t9 isn't full Triumph yet, so stats below will be low. Look at my armory if u want to check other stats)
With AP gems/enchs i'll lose ~2,8% crit but i'll raise my AP to ~4500. In raid, with trinket's procs, i reach something about 58/60% white crit and with my ~390 haste rating + imp. icy talon/windfury the energy regen is good enough.
I'm aiming to Dark matter to replace Greatness soon, so my AP and crit will be awesome... maybe even too much... And so i started thinking about this "crazy" idea of AP gemming.
Everyone is talking about going ruptureless after you break the 4pt8 bonuses but don't Rupture ticks proc the 2pt9 set bonuses?
And, by the way, what's the proc rate of 2pt9?
Haven't seen any maths on that yet (I may have overlooked it somewhere)
What is the best Rotation for the best TPS? My gear is not terrible, and it always seems like my cooldowns are all being used, but my TPS is not that good.
I've been reading the following about PTR 3.3 ... and I'm worried.
While I realise that it's early days as yet, seems that their hitting holy hard with these changes.
1) Sacred Shield can now only occur every 30 sec. (Up from 6 sec)
... not sure what this means. I can only cast every 30secs? boo.
2) Sacred Shield: The damage absorption effect from this ability now triggers only once every 30 seconds.
... umm, so whats the point of putting this up and wasting a GCD
3) Lay on Hands can no longer be cast on yourself.
... now this is just MEAN. No fair bliz - it's my last stand mana plan.
4) Infusion of Light now also reduces the cooldown on the effect of Sacred Shield by 12/24 sec.
... I have no earthly idea what this means. Can anyone shed any light?
5) Aura Mastery now lasts 6 sec. (Down from 10 sec)
... that pretty much means I won't bother putting a point into this talent anymore.
10 secs was useful, 6 secs seems just to be a waste of a GCD.
Hello,
I'm coming back to the game from a 2 month break, and I would be very greatful if someone could catch me up on the new guide lines.
When i left (firsts weeks of ToC), to get the best theorical dps, it was best to get ~460 Arp, if i remmember correctly, and get the Thorim's trinket. Is this what's best to do now? how about in practice, thas this really works fine?
I've looked at the spreedsheet thread but with all the posts it's a little overwheilming, and i bealive the way of repporting the new configs has changed.
Jan, one and two are essentially the same. SS has two parts to it: The shield itself and the FoL crit part. Both will have a 30 seconds cooldown. Holy doesn't have to worry about that though because Infusion of Light would (hopefully) reduce the cooldowns back to their original 6 seconds.
The Lay on Hands change has been reverted as seen here.
Aura Mastery was likely nerfed because many other paladin abilities have been taken down to 6 seconds too. Arguably 10 seconds of being immune to Silence and Interrupt is overpowered.
ok,so maybe being the last unholy loving member still playing this dc spam spec in uh pres because of my weapons,ie The World of Warcraft Armory The World of Warcraft Armory
im gonna gief this up now to respec to 3/13/55 to get used to it before 3.3 coz as we all know its dead in 3.3 i love dw mainly due to the fact that my luck with getting a imba 2h in absolutely aweful ie 12 weeks to get boh from kt,no drop of 2h from twins yet etc.
1 thing is still puzzling me atm though as there is no mention of it in this thread or the dw thread,in 3.3 playing 3/13/55 which is the better combo for dw in unholy slow/slow or slow/fast (depending on dps),what i mean by that is i have slow 196 in mh,great, but i have as u can see fast 196 atm in oh,but i also have the slow 178 grinder The World of Warcraft Armory
ofc when playing frost slow/slow is optimal for tot,but we have no tot in unholy so as i see it does the extra dps from my fast oh atm outweigh the slow speed and less dps of the grinder in 3.3,is anything being added in 3.3 to make slow more viable in oh as it is needed in frost...?
dont gief back any "uve been gimping ur dps still playing 17/54 all this time etc",it was my choice to carry on playing that spec so thats that realy
anyway, thnks in advance for any answer's and wanna say well done to consider for continuing his good work in this thread and a few other's with valid continual input, keep it up guys, some of us out here dont wanna go frost dw

Thanks for the info on LoH, didn't see the point of removing that ability - I mean, if you're thinking about a PvP contest, then maybe but ... In PvE it didn't make any sense. In either case there's a 20 min c/d.
Aura mastery ... crying now, I wanted an OP talent. This was great in certain fights particularly if I had concentration up.
Thanks for clearing up the SS - now I have to remember to get Infusion up in order to get it back to 6sec c/d (more work) lol.
Good Macro to track whatever you put a hunter's mark on.
/stopmacro [noexists]
/run for i=1,GetNumTrackingTypes() do local n, t, a, c = GetTrackingInfo(i); if string.find(n, UnitCreatureType("target")) then if t~=GetTrackingTexture(i) then SetTracking(i); end end end
/cast Hunter's Mark
Hi there, I've been stalking these forums for quite some time hoping my question would be answered, and thus far nothing I could see pertained exactly to what it is I am looking for. Rather than link my armory page and say make me better, which seems to be everyones pet peeve, I've figured out almost exactly what it is i'm confused about.
First off my main is a survival hunter and recently I leveled an 80 combat rogue. Being quite uninformed as far as rogues go I turned to Elitist Jerks for all my simple questions and answers. However, unfortunately I seem to have passed beyond the land of simple questions and answers, and so I ask you knowledgeable people to hopefully solve my dilemma.
You'll have to pardon my formalities, still quite new.
So i'll get right down to it. Skimming through the rogue forums I've seen people suggesting to gem for armor pent, people suggesting to gem straight for agility, people saying gem for +10 agil + 10 armor pent; People saying that a combat rogue ( mind you im combat ) should be stacking armor pent in his \ her gear, that tier 9 is of less dps at lower gear levels than tier 8 ect... As you can imagine for someone who doesnt exactly have a reliable resident rogue in his guild this is quite confusing.
Basically my questions are: Should i be gemming and or equipping armor pent gear, if so what rating should I shoot for. Would re-gemming for +10 agil +10 crit in all red \ yellow sockets show a sizable dps increase vs straight agil. I've also heard that combat rogues need at least 300 haste to support uptime of deadly poisons, any input? Would it be worth my while to replace my Tier 8.5 helm w\ 245 bloodfang mask even with the loss of t8 two set.
In all these discussions i've browsed through people are discussing BiS gear and such, i'm no where near that, though I would still greatly appreciate any information or feedback if provided.
Maybe this has already been treated before, but I didn't get a clear info, so I get to chose between [Grim Toll] and [Darkmoon Card: Greatness] as a second trinket (my first one being [Death's Verdict]) in a combat spec with eviscerate, my arpen unbuffed is 721 so I wanted to know if I should equip [Grim Toll] or [Darkmoon Card: Greatness]. Both seem very close to me.
Should I trust the charts on shadowpanther for trinkets or not?
Honestly Blizzard had to do this, the price of dust has been steadily increasing over the past few months, there simply wasn't as much dust being created as consumed. Weapon enchants consume 40 dusts and enchants for other gear pieces often consume >20. Coliseum has no trash mobs for people to incidentally get greens from. The other major source of dusts, saronite ore, is now only mined secondary to titanium, no one goes out looking for saronite specifically, they just grab them while they wait for titanium to respawn.
The lack of supply is most likely an issue of your realm or it's just that Vek'nilash EU was filled with disenchanters (at least 4-5 pages of dusts on a medium pop realm is not a poor supply imo)

Bornakk: To maintain the importance of the profession itself, the disenchanting UI option will only be available for groups that have a character with the necessary level of Enchanting to disenchant the items that are obtained.
I suppose that many people like me stopped offering the disenchanting service in heroics shortly after wrath (maybe it's a behaviour limited to the two realms I played on) because of the following reasons:
- the amount of shards i get doesn't change (the chances of getting a blue are the same of getting a shard at the end of the run) so why putting more work for people we don't know?
- the shard rolling at the end of the run is annoying and good for drama
- we're greedy/lazy and not offering free shards keeps high the market price
This new fantastic button will force me to offer a service to anyone even if I'm not ok with that. The next step could be clicking on someone for getting a craft without him even knowing that?
I'm not getting why people should be allowed to have for free the enchant mats I produced with my (expensive to level) profession while for example they would look at me as an idiot if I'd roll on the skinner's leathers. Am I comparing orange with apples or I have a point?
So far wrath professions have been disappointing for the main reason that most opportunities of gaining an arbitrage have been nerfed heavilly in respect to their tbc versions, to be more precise I'm talking about of:
- primals, engineers could make ridicolous amount of money if they put some effort, now the crafting is totally focused on other items and eternals aren't nearly as valuable
- leg armor kit, the patterns were so rare that you could buy the mats, pay a tip to the crafter and still earn 100-150g in 10 minutes of trade chat spamming (it would be still good today)
- epic gems, same as above with roughly 100g margins
You could do very good money without even having a profession but using your brain at a very basic level.
Some of those strategies could work even now, but not nearly as effective.. you could think that's for the good of the economy (why?) but since wrath blizzard moved their view of the servers economics to a socialist like system with a low welfare income (and a very few farmers) while keeping low as possible any opportunity of making profits in the services market (for example jc/enchanting recipes buyable by every R&S with the mats they got "for free").
Sorry if I sound like a freak neocon (or something like that), but I'm sure that not everyone is amused by dumb and annoying quests for a miserable 13g reward after 8-10 mins of work even if it comes packed with some rep with blood elf mages in dalaran.
I have a question. Yesterday finally the Runestone dropped of Thorim and I was the lucky winner. My "Problem"now is the following. I saved up all my dkp to be able to get Death's Choice when it finally drops. And I also Purchased the Nobles Deck for only 3k 3 weeks ago and this week there will be the Faire.
My question now would be the following: Should I use my dkp to get the 245 shoulders and legs instead of the 232 ones I got right now and wear Runestone + DG:G or should I still use them for Death's Choice and if do I then go for DK:G or Runestone together with it? Which in your opinion would be the better choice?
Let's assume that I am hit, expertise and arp capped with runestone.
Thanks in advance.
@Versatile
If you're ArP softcapped with Mjolnir then Death's Choice and Mjolnir are optimal. If you're close to the hardcap, then probably Darkmoon and Death's Choice are better.
It just depends on your ArP what combination will be best suited.
I think you are in the wrong thread with that attitude. There are 75 pages of ideas on how to make money, most of them involve professions. They are certainly not all equally in profitability, but they are all better than 13g / 8-10 min from your questing example.
The fact that you don't offer your disenchanting services in dungeons does not have any lasting effect on the server economy. So you are just being selfish and generally a prick by not doing so. Stop complaining and change profession if it's such a big concern for you that someone in your group will get a benefit from your profession.
... and now to something completely different: Alchemy is a very inexpensive profession to level and the Epic gem transmutes are an easy money maker. Leveling Alchemy (maybe even with Transmute mastery) is a nice and simple moneymaker 1 click -> 100+g (in excess of 400g in rare cases as a Transmuter).
Just remember that Wednesdays are the best day for selling gems/enchants (arena and weekly dungeon reset).

My gold still comes out almost entirely from professions (jc crafting+disenchanting), it was just a "state of the things as I view them" kind of post (this thread has many others), sorry if you disagree or don't like how I wrote my ideas.
Regarding alchemy, to me it doesn't seem worth to level an alt and even less to devote your main's profession slot just to use a one day cooldown, expecially because on many realms there aren't any other profits to be had from the profession.
PS I'm aware that I don't have a big impact on the server economy, I was just wondering how many pricks and selfish (yeah so what?) people like me there were on an average realm and if this was a reason for blizzard to introduce the disenchant option.
Hi guys, I just joined the forums, hi o/. I am relative new to raiding with my arms warrior and was wondering if you guys could give me some pointers. In 25 man raids I can push to just hit the 5K mark all the time, anyway I can improve this with my gear, or do I need to enchant or gem different. I use ap flask and arP food buffs during raids.
Right -- "let's join with the race that has been fighting us ever since we landed on these shores. That sounds like a match made in heaven!"
Or "let's join the beasts who burned Quel'Thalas in the Second War. Great idea!"
The trolls and the orcs are the high elves' two worst enemies ever, prior to Arthas' fall to the Scourge. And suddenly they're buddy-buddy with them? Even if you take into account that the Darkspear trolls aren't Amani, and even if take into account that the orcs aren't the demon-infused killers of the Second War, it makes no sense. Their race just suddenly collectively decide to forgive them?
It's incredibly, unbelievably obvious you've never rolled a Blood Elf and done the starting zone. You have zero clue what you're talking about and should probably shut up about it. All these things you object to are explained, quite clearly, in the Blood Elf starting zone. It only takes a couple of hours at most — if you're slow —*to do the starting zone, so go roll a Blood Elf and educate yourself before you opine further.
EDIT: And there's a lot more to it than the spies. I suggest reading all the quest text if you claim to care about lore.
Awhile back I had an addon that allowed me to make a list of things consumables portals mounts etc then set it to A keybind and when i hit said keybind all the things I set to it would appear on my screen and all i had to do was mouse over one of the icons to use it. Anyone have a idea of the addon im talking about?
Never mind i was able to find it, if anyone was curious the name of the addon was "Opie"
neither of my weapons show up in the main hand category on the spread sheet but both show up as off hand. My weapons are Lionhead Slasher (axe) and Westfall Saber (sword). I also have Icefall Blade (Heroic) (Dagger) and Golem-Shard Sticker (dagger). Is there a way to input the weapons and stats into the spreadsheet manually?
I have been looking throught the forums a lot lately for some sort for Stat Priority list for DK tanking gear so I can compare some pieces. Is there a post somewhere where stat weights are posted in the tanking forum? I can't seem to find one that actually has a solid stat weight.
Hi guys. I was wondering if its worth breaking a 4/5T8.5 for 2/5T8.5 and two other ilvl245 items assuming i would be spell hit and expertise capped regardless. thanks. And follow up. If i should stick with the T8.5 has there been a consensus as to whether 51/13/7 or 51/7/13 is best? thanks
