All sorts of things that jumped out at me right away, you have 2 points in savage strikes, 0 points in imp tracking, 3 points in surefooted, 0 points in Trap Mastery, and 0 points in Noxious Stings. This spec looks like a mix of PVE and PVP which is just gonna end up being bad for both. Save your gold and dont spec into this over some of the other options that have been listed repeatedly.

8% without Heroic Presence. However, unless you're the one providing it, it's better not to expect it will always be on you during a raid. It's way too easy to be out of range of it or for the person to die and leave you without.

Can anyone tell me if I should break 2xt8.5 setbonus for T9 triumph helm and [Knightbane Carapace]
I could use the expertise on the helm, but I'm not sure if it would be a dps loss or increase over the extra clearcast procs
I better ask here first instead of buying it now and see a dps loss, also tried rawr but still not figured that out yet.

Any other inputs are welcome

new arp trinket
With the new trinket (asuming most rogue's will go for it if they havn't been lucky enough with drop rates to get mjol or grim toll) Has anyone worked out what armor pen value we will need on gear to get to the caps?
Thanks!

Well if you're a new player that doesn't know how to gear or play I'd recommend going massive intellect. Just socket everything with intellect and get as high ilvl on the gear as possible.

Ok, so.. I was messing around in Rawr trying to figure out what trinkets to go for, and it's telling me the fourth best trinket in the game is [Meteorite Whetstone].
Obviously this is wrong? And on that note, should I be weary to make any gear choices around what Rawr spits out or is this some kind of known weird bug?
But anyway, I just hit 80 a few days ago and my trinkets are really terrible. I'm using [Horn of Argent Fury] and [First Mate's Pocketwatch] which both obviously need replaced ASAP. Is [Mirror of Truth] worth grinding up the badges for? I would really like to keep the number of heroics I have to grind to a minimum, so downgrading 40 conq badges for an iLvl200 item doesn't make me very excited. If it'll last me a long time though, I'll go for it.

I need some help with a rotation. I know I am geared near the max but I am only putting out 4K to 4.5k dps
on my rotation I use rend, slam untill over power or execute come up then go back to slam and refresh rend. I usually use BS when there are multiple mobs.
I still need to get the bolod bath belt when I change my t8.5 gloves to the 9.5 ones. this change will balance my expertise out but still over hitcap
heres the link to the gear i'm using
The World of Warcraft Armory
my talent use is 57/13/1

One thing that hasn't been mentioned about the Scorpion is that unlike the Runestone it is chance on CRIT instead of chance on HIT to proc the ArP bonus.

Hey shandara, is something up perhaps with the resourcefulness talent? I actually lose dps when go 1/3 into resourcefulness. I see a small boost with 2 points, and with 3 stays the same.

I've been reading all the stamina vs agi/stam and def/stam posts and I'm fairly new at bear tanking myself.
Though just like other people have been stating earlier, once you reach a certain value of health you shouldn't need any more. Meaning if you are undergeared, yes Stamina is your best bet. Once you start earning 245-258 gear and set pieces you can start swapping out stamina gems for more avoidance.
Someone explained how we are best for our health, but I'd have to "Half" disagree, because our real 1-up over other tanks are that we have so much more dodge then them that we can completely mitigate nearly and most every melee swing. Stacking the dodge (agility + defense stats) just seems like your smartest plan for now.

Now... for my question.
I recently hit 80 3 weeks ago, and geared fully to a point where I can reach the 54k health mark buffed. I've been playing around with specs listed on the forums and speaking with other druids. Though I seem to have gotten a lot of mixed opinions. From a 60/11 spec to a 55/16 spec which I currently use. I understand most of this is chosen around raid make-up. I'm just curious are more people leaning towards the 60/11 more often nowadays?
Also, I have researched that Druid threat is supposed to be the highest TPS, and in most raids I fail to achieve that number. I hold aggro but I can see on Omen that 1-2 people hold off quite often. If there is anyone who can help me off this forum I would really appreciate it as well.
(Mainly because of the agreement terms, I wouldn't want to violate anything)

My own particular guild has 1 or 0 DKs in every raid. We understand the value of DKs, we just can't find good players to fill that role as often as we'd like. Because I am one of the more competent people in our raid, I get the task of controlling the rogue. I do this as frost and the rogue is continuously snared or CC'd throughout the fight. The rogue is particularly problematic because of shadow step and cloak of shadows so a sheep/fear rotation goes to shit very quickly if he uses CloS or SS out of range. Ideally we would have 4x DKs that could just deathgrip all of the FC melee but we simply don't have that type of raid.
DPS meters on faction champs are a joke and saying that mages are missing some opportunity to be top 5 on that particular fight is missing the entire point of that particular fight. Between sheep, frost nova, snares, and counterspell; mages have an important role on Faction Champs and DPS isn't always a part of that role.
There are a million different strategies for Faction Champs and all of them are equally viable so as long as the raid is successful.
|
I agree with this. The Faction Champions is a boss which is all about control. Therefor, you will need skilled players who know what they are doing. Not just a number of awesome DPS'ers or very well geared people. I think that it is possible to beat the Faction Champions with almost every realistic setup, as long as all members of the raid work together and know what they do.

This is an entirely incorrect statement. While bears have more dodge than any other tanks, they do not have more avoidance than any other tank and are actually at least 5% behind warriors and 10-15% behind DKs and paladins.
Furthermore, dodge does not 'mitigate' anything. It avoids it. And no, druids cannot avoid most melee attacks.

I've recently gotten back into raiding after a 3 year hiatus. To make a long story short, my old account got deleted from Blizz's database (they don't even know what happened to it) and I've gone from playing a rogue in Vanilla wow to Priest in WoTLK. I've been raiding mostly as a healer barring the occasional Ony25/heroic that I can dps on, and I've had to switch from Disc to Holy healing. I've followed the talent setups for both specs and have noticed a huge increase in heals after switching from Disc to Holy. I understand that Disc isn't picked up very well by the meters. I also understand that Disc is more for keeping the tank alive/shielded/reducing damage compared to Holy being for larger heals. My question is: should I be waiting until I get more SP to switch back to Disc in order to fully utilize the spec? I ask due to someone bringing it up in a raid last week. My gear isn't the best, obviously, however I'm working on getting into raids to improve my gear, so whatever can help me do my job better will help.

Is there any interest at all in someone picking up the development of the addon? Or perhaps a replacement addon that serves a similar function, and is continuously updated? I've been using the FBN addon since Naxx and it would be a shame to give up such a useful tool once 3.3 hits and it has lost its compatibility.
