What am i doing wrong?

Hi,
I need some help with my DK. I'm trying to tank Heroics but i'm taking to much damage. My armory link is The World of Warcraft Armory.
My char was primarily build to PVP but them decided to get some tank gear. I'm trying to do the best i can but i don't see how i ll make it to be as good as a pally/war/druid. I've seen this other classes in action, with similar gear (blue with a few epics from heroics), and they are so much better to mitigate damage that i started to think that DK isn't made for tanking. I know i don't have the best gear, but i got the def cap (545), 20% dodge, 15% parry, 25k unbuffed hp, 24k armor. I've seen warriors and pallies with lower scores that do better than me. What am i doing Wrong?

I'm using the tanking build i saw here. I didn't lost aggro till now, but seems that healers can't keep up all the damage i get. I die a LOT ! Even for trash mobs.
I'm trying to get the trinket from Emblem of Heroism reward and the epic belt from AN. But even with those itens i don't think how i ll mitigate all the damage i need to improve my tanking.

Thanks for your patience and be soft with me, i'm still a noob trying to learn.

Could someone post a BiS gear list for Feral tanks including hard mode gear? This has been done for cat and I would like to see your ideas on the bear side of things, hard mode-wise.

Thanks

Fury tank

I just have a quick question me and a couple of guildies where talking about, would it be at all viable to do something, like going deep into fury for Titans Grip/arms for deep wounds and such, but, in crunch time, would it be at all smart to do that, but keep a shield and equip a two hander in your main hand? im thinkin that as long as you can keep some crit up, the flurry effect shouldnt let your attack speed suffer to much, but you get the bonus of using shield slam, shield bash, deflect spells. I know that would be a big chunk out of your dps (with the 10% decrease in damage and such) but, for surviving, would it be worth doing in crunch time? would love some opinions on this.

Alternately, toggling between defensive (ctrl-9 in the standard key bindings) normally and passive (ctrl-0) when you get a flame wall warning should also cause your pet to auto return.

tyvm this post and the one b4 are very helpfull....

I know how Taunt works, but, what you need to do is to pump out as much threat as you can, then pop images, and with 3-4 secs back, the tank taunts the threat off you, as you're blinded on the threatmeter with images up, and then pop invis...works like a charm, we do it every week.

are axes going to be the weapons to get for dps.or will they fail and swords/dagger/fist still be on top?

So once you hit the soft cap for ArP (100%), then Strength becomes priority to stack, correct? And assuming that is correct, what is the ratio of ArP points to Percentage. How many points does it take to make 100%? And if grim toll procs for 612 ArP, what % is that?

tokkah, as you can easly find in wowwiki 12.31 ArP rating=1%, that means grim toll proc is worth 49.7%.
however for your other question, this is correct - i assume that theroticly you could reach enough ArP from gear to make gemming for ArP better, but then it would also be bettert to switch trinket..

The advice from the first question assumes that the other melee are doing roughly similar damage to you.
Of course is my damage not similar to his. When I started in the new guild a few weeks ago I first saw the Iron Council Hardmode. After a few tries the Boss was down. I did the best I could. In the end the rogue did about 400k more damage points than me. One week later an a few gearingpoint further I managed du close up to a 300k difference between me and him. I know, that the councilfight has a few chocolate pieces like the damageenhancing runes. So I don't rely on DPS or else thou his was obvioisly higher than mine. About 1k higher than mine.

So the question is:

At wich point is it far more useful for the raid to give Hysteria to someone else than ego. Just supporting someone, because he wants to be first in the penismeter issn't realy helping the raid, I assume.

Hey, first time i'm posting here.

I was wondering, if it's worth losing strength to become capped with Expertise. I'm lying on
19 Expertise at the moment and i was thinking of switching some +16 Strength out for +16 Expertise ones.

Any ideas?

It's somehow dependand on your equipment-setup and I'd suggest to just use Landsouls spreadsheet, since it pretty much owns big time and gives you very accurate answers.

But I guess expertise > str till cap.
And that's it. even for sockets.

BUT: I saw a post from shha that told us to socket strength anytime. Though I don't know if it's still correct.

Landsouls spreadsheet will give you the answer.

That post was accurate/made at beggining of WOTLK and was concerning green gear/quest items. Please disregard it if you talk about "modern" raiding. Besides, the class was a bit different back then as well.
