After many months of soloing Baron Geddon there has been great success! I finally got my Hunterfury!! I just want to say thanks for all the help I've gotten here! Keep on soloing hunters, it's always +10 roleplaying.

Unholy Blight and you in 3.2

Ok, So I took advantage of my free respec with the new patch and specced 50/0/21 for the new UHB. In heroics, on boss pulls, especially ones with largely sustained DPSing the boss, this was worth a range from about 2-3.5% of my overall damage done. Not huge, but sustained, as opposed to the burst from DRW we all like to save for special occasions. Plus, the lack of downtime keeps us from missing out on several thousand damage if a pull ends before our next burst moment. I plan to run some serious numbers on it later tonight. I was wondering if anyone else has had different numbers? Will include armory once its not being maintained.
Spec:
Edit: Numbers still consistently in that range for UHB ticks. If someone that is running a 51/0/20 could shoot me the percent of damage done by abilities modified by DRW, I can crunch the numbers and see about efficiency. But the way its looking now to basic math, unless you maximize uptime of DRW vs maximize effectiveness, odds are, the persistent damage of UHB will edge out DRW now. If you wait for the perfect time to burst, it may slide a bit higher if the fight is well timed for bursts. I think this will end up being a very situational contest that won't end up with a perfect answer.

What Ill probably do is side by side comparisons as well as try and acquire the gear listed in the "quick and dirty" I missed so much of the theory crafting side of wotlk but its fun trying to play catch up as well.

Thx.

Both of these are crafted. Good stamina and Defense. I used them when I got to 80 to tank Naxx and hit my Defense cap of 540 using some of my old T6 gear. I also ran a lot of heroics to get the Defense/Stamina I needed. With many well geared tanks around I'd just try to get on some naxx runs and pick up Tanking pieces when you can. Instead of trying to tank it out of the gate.

I ran with a 50/0/21 build last night, held much higher sustained dps then what I was 3.1 using DRW. Average ticks of unholy blight were for around 160ish after about 3 hours of raiding. Wish I had our WWS logs for last night.

To be fair the actual tooltip in game has not been updated and still only acts as though you get 33% procs when you have 5 stacks. I can see how it would lead to a lot of confusion, hopefully they'll be a minor patch soon to rectify it.

It's a downgrade, unless you can't reach the defense cap without it.

The BoE blacksmithing helm is better, but the engineering goggles are cheaper, you can use them starting at level 72, and they're certainly good enough for Naxx, where you can get a better helm. If you were trying to gear up for serious progression raiding then getting the BoE helm would be smart, but in this day and age when people are pugging Naxx regularly, it's probably not worth the expense.

My comrades are my weapons, and I am their shield.

Do we have math somewhere in regards to Crit vs Mp5? I'm interested in knowing the relative values in regards to how much crit is worth swapping out for mp5? I realize there are many variables involved, but I'm just looking for a basic guideline.

For instance, is it worth giving up 40 crit for an item with 20mp5 and all else being equal?

So Seal of Vengeance is a given for bosses, but would it be better to use Seal of Righteousness for trash? Or put 1 point into Seal of Command and use it for trash?

I'm wondering if any of the top rogue professions have changed. I'm guessing JC is still top of the charts for rogues, but what would be a 2nd profession to follow up that?

Blacksmithing, simply because it allows for options in gemming (i.e. you can you a Fractured Cardinal Ruby instead of just getting a flat AP bonus other professions provide).

Ok so this is supposed to be a Simple Questions / Simple Answers thread, but after reading the first 5 or 6 pages, then realising there are well over 100 pages to this thread I thought I'd post my own question and hope I can get a simple answer...

All I want to know is which spec is better? Combat or Mutilate?

I'm currently running mutilate 51/13/7 with Sinister Revenge MH and Twilight Mist OH.. 4/5 T7.5 (yes i know its old now, but I've not been into ulduar yet). I want to maximise my dps..

Will I be able to keep up with combat rogues on a full t8 set? Or am I going to get laughed at?

I enjoy raiding as mutilate, I like the challenge the rotation brings, making sure to keep rupture/snd up and so on.. i know this is similar to combat, but somehow i find combat boring.. But if its proven that combat has significant dps compared to mutilate, then Ill get some sword and switch no problem.

So can someone please tell me which is better? before I pull ALL of my hair out...
