I was thinking of soloing MC for Bindings of the Windseeker (just for fun). And I figure BM should be the way to go.
Do any of you know what would be a preferable BM/Tanking specc to use? And what pet etc?
I am searching the forums atm, but I thought I might aswell ask

Best Horde race for a Shaman?
Decided because of versatility to level a shaman. Only now I am torn as to which of the available races make a better endgame character. Which race is more benaficial to endgame raiding? Tauren or Troll or Orc? Thankyou for input.

There is a hunter thread called 'Hunters soloing old instances for fun and profit' right here on the forums.
Here is a link to a few posts regarding Geddon: Geddon.
In short: make sure pet has 3/3 Avoidance, and you have 3/3 Hawk Eye. Anything else isn't important for this specific boss, but for the other bosses (Garr in particular) a standard BM spec with the usual tanking talents is recommended. 2xT5 also helps alot.

I've been running 15/53/3 as a single disease with GoHB. I ran with the 53/18 and 3/53/15 specs suggested here for the first two weeks of 3.2, but I get between 300 to 1k better dps, depending on the fight, with what I'm running now. This is in 10 and 25 uld and toc. I believe it's because I'm getting more obliterates, howling blasts and frost strikes in the same number of GCD's than running dual disease. However everyone keeps telling me I'm wrong in the forums. Btw I pull 3700 dps on target dummies, although we know those don't really relate to raid dps. This is with Razorscale Talon and Aledar's Battlestar.

2500 sustained dps using the new DW frost build (3/51/17) using Titansteel Bonecrusher and Aredar's Battlestar. I am very familiar with Frost rotations (priority, really).
But for the life of me I can't see how DW Frost is on top of the current, soon-to-be-nerfed UH Oblit build. SHould I switch to DW UH Oblit build? (0/18/53)
Help? I REALLY was excited about going back to frost DW

It's said throughout the forum that DPS testing on dumies is a poor method of testing, with one of the main reasons being that necrosis doesn't work. This has an even larger effect on DW, because of the increase in damage from your melée hits, and consequently necrosis. Also don't forget that you need to focus on quite different stats for DW. Expertise, hit and armor pen play a different role. You can't just equip two 1h weps with your 2h gear and expect to rock the DPS meters
|
Apparently i was under the misconception that you can ask simple questions in this thread, since I got banned for asking why my testing showed 2H UH at higher dps than DW frost. As seen in my post, I had already done the research on the builds, and thus was my confusion on why the information seemed to be leading me in the opposite direction.
@reflex - Thanx for the answer. Yes, I realize testing dummies aren't what EJ uses to come up with performance and build numbers. But when you test relatively it can be a fine indicator. Such as when comparing two builds with necrosis, NEITHER build will be using Necrosis while testing, so you can compare the two.
Also, I had meant to say in my original post that I had switched to properly gemmed gear when I went DW frost.
So my questions which hasn't been answered anywhere yet is still: with lower gear, should DW UH obliterate build be used over DW frost?

No sane person should use the test dummies for any dps comparison.
Quoting Zurm here:
|
Target dummies are, bare with me here, *NEVER* a reasonable way to test DPS in any fashion whatsoever. They don't work right with certain damage increasing talents, and your abilities scale very differently with raid buffs. The ONLY thing target dummies are ever good for are practicing your rotation or for checking proc RATES. For all that is good and pure in this world, please do not post your target dummy DPS tests.
|
The answer is test it out in a raid or use a simulation spreadsheet/program, because no one results are same. In addition skill/raid buffs matter. 2H dps is better than DW unbuffed, but when you get buffed things change. Also, your healers may be bad at healing your pet, so a non-pet focused build could be better.
With your weapons, you are likely better off with 2H until you get better 1H weapons.

Hey, I was wondering what's the best sigil for 0/53/18. Did someone prove that Sigil of Virulence gives more dps than Sigil of Awareness?

Hi, long time lurker with a question
I'm combat swords, wondering if with the new patch should I still use WP/DP or is IP/DP now better? I haven't played rogue in a while (too busy with tree), so not sure if this would system have changed since I see the poisons no longer have the % to hit listed on the poison.
Thanks for any help

Usefulness of Shatter?
I'm considering going back to Frostfire, so I've been looking at the tree a bit lately. If I were to take 2 points out of Flame Throwing, and put them into Shatter, would there be any increase? Here's my thinking, maybe somebody can explain how it's flawed.
Pyroblast will often immediately follow a Frostfire Bolt. Presumably, there would be 0 damage to the boss between the when the Frostfire Bolt hits and when the Pyroblast hits. With 2 points in Frostbite, there would be a 10% chance to increase the crit of the Pyroblast by 34%. Right? Simplified math says this would be a 3.4% increase to the crit chance of Pyroblast.
Assumption: Pyroblast crit will be calculated on hit rather than on cast. If this is false, my reasoning clearly fails. Could it be saved?
Edit: a spec like this is what I'm thinking. Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft
Edit2: NEVERMIND. Friend of mine pointed out that bosses can't be frozen.

Quick question:
Using the latest spreadsheet provided by Aldriana (thank you), i see an increase of 150 dps when i swap 4pc t8 with 4pc t9, 245 ilevel. Gems are still Agi, while if i put ArPen it gets to 180 dps increase.
This is fully buffed, and seems weird because the upgrade from t7 to t8 was huge, over 300dps unbuffed for me (that's on dummy, i believe it was almost 1k in raids).
Even if 2 months later i have the 258 ilevel 4 set, i ll get probably 300dps increase, and I never run such a perfect raid composition which lowers this increase further.
Is it worth getting?

I've also recently started using EnhSim with Pawn and am confused as to why
[Vilerend Slicer] rates 138.1 but [Dire Nail] (+5 Sta, +8 Sta, +7 Str) only rates 7.0?
At first I assumed it had to do with the proc, even though I saw nothing in the EP values to account for procs. However [Gut Ripper] also has a dmg proc with no add'l stats, but gets no rating from EnhSim Pawn scale.
Here are the EP values from my output.txt:
EP value DPS total DPS difference

Dou you know what really bugs me is the fact that there making loads of changes and bringing in new things when their is something in the game horribly broken and embarissing ie hunters.hunters hunters hunters even my grandmother laughs at hunters like why do the devs let hunters still exist. we all know the game would be better off and all the hunter players could reroll and enjoy not being humiliated my some dk or pala in blues.hunters are by far the worst class in the game i put them in the same braket as people in wheelchairs blind people people with brain damage and people with glasses ie worthless.i do not see why anyone still plays the class ur a joke to evryone else a fallout fron the pokemon days collecting fluffy animals ur an absolute joke the lowest of the low by far no one ever fears a hunter ever you a free kill even to 8 year old. the humilation u suffer on a regular basis is emence. and i can only imagine the type of people who enjoy that sort of thing. get a life weirdos erase the hunter class and give us all something more usfull like a new vanity pet and 5 free healing potions all would agree that would be a fair trade.

Anyway, both weapons are bad because they are fast.
