srs question
here is my Armory link.. The World of Warcraft Armory ..now i have hear from allot of other locks that 25% crit is the staooping point and a grip of haste is best. is this true? my reasoning behind this is simple. warlock A can cast 2 incinerates within 2.3 sec warlock b can cast 1 incinerate within 2.3 sec.. warlock a hits both doing noncrit 5k dmg warlock b hits for 13k dmg.. so im asking is it a big differance?

Never leveled a Rogue before, and I was toying with the Talent Calculator. Is 51/18/2 a valid end game spec, and if not, what could I shuffle around?

Please forgive this old fart from chiming in, but there's something I've been noticing that I'd like to address.
While figuring out the exact formula for gear/stats/ratings is really great, some of us old farts just play to enjoy the game, and would like a quick and dirty list of what we should be looking for in order to play our characters better.
Now I understand Strength is the number one stat we should strive for. But what I would like to see, and I'm sure other casual players would as well, is some type of list that shows the numbers we should attempt to strive for, and the type of gear that would assist us in reaching that goal.
For example, I currently have a hit rating of 54. Pitiful. Yes. I know. But what I don't know is what I should be striving for. I've looked all over and all everyone talks about is the cap. That really doesn't do a lot of us much good. Something like I should strive for a hit rating of around 250 with 'x' gear would serve me much better than me sitting down and trying to do math I haven't done in over 30 years.
So I guess I'm making a request here. For those of you that enjoy figuring this stuff out, my hat's off to ya. But could you please keep some of us old farts in mind when you post this stuff and remember we haven't had to do much math in a few decades? The KISS method works best with us. It would be much appreciated.

I haven't done any parsing on armor values for a while - when I get this app up and running I should be able to do that easily.
Just to go over the app that I'm writing: this is how I imagine they would create items.
First select an armour type/slot/rarity, and the itemLevel they are aiming for.
From the INPUT GOAL iLevel, the program calculates weapon DPS and armour value. This is the iLevel that gets assigned to the item in game, but is probably not the exact REAL iLevel.
However they then use slider bars to add stats to items. These slider bars increment continuously, rather than by integer amounts.
SO i just made that chest with exact integer values. (Actually I think is is the chest of Frozen Pain) However, I could (theoretically) have moved the slider bars just that TINY bit more to the right and given each stat 0.4 more of each, pushing it up to 213 iLevel.
However I'm still getting around the annoyances of the math system in my components, otherwise i'd show you two items with exactly the same stats, but different iLevel. Next week hey?

Well, you can easily try it out yourself.
Simply get an [Hand Axe] (buyable in every big City), take away all proc able trinkes and hit an dummy.
It doesn't matter which dummy.
Just take care, that no Buffs or Debuffs will distort your results.
(Watch your own Buffs and Debuffs if you want to test it without resetting your Talent Points)
You will find 2.1 with Axe/Polearm-Spec, respectively 2.16 with Axe/Polearm-Spec and Meta.

Raid Dps.
Hey guys I'm trying to find a post that gives some insight to "top" raid dps.
Here is my Dk link: The World of Warcraft Armory
Would love to see some post comparing the basic 3 Talent tree builds as far as dps, also duel Wield vs. 2-Hander.
Just trying to figure out which build seems to be pulling ahead currently.
Thanks for any insight.

Back on the subject of T9 4p proccing Natures Grace, assuming that you could keep it up 100% of the time that's 20% less haste you have to gear for which lets you take a ton more crit.
Ignoring for the moment whether that is a good or bad idea, how much haste would you need assuming full raid buffs, 5/5 GotEM, and assuming 100% Natures Grace uptime, to get a 1 second Rej/Lb/Wg?
Course Rejuv is pretty useless in Colo and healing is worthless on Yogg-0, but assuming we end up with another IC/Xt style raid damage hard mode and you can do keep 100% NG w/ 4set, it'd be really powerful.

Never got any responses to this post, so i'll try asking here.
Breif version of the previous post, what program\addon do you guys use to look at gear? I like the way rawr works, but i don't think it does a very good job of approximating the MP5 needed, as it shows me very short depending on it's settings, and in-game i don't have mana problems.

Ive been told by a couple people that I was once guilded with that Haste is an important stat, and reaching haste cap is beneficial to my DPS...Other people, including some of the best hunters on my server, have told me that haste is completely useless due to the fact that alot of the hunter rotation is instant casts,is this true?
Also,Gemming/Stacking/Itemizing for ArP as Survival,I have been told that its useless because the shot that does the most damage in our rotation does not benefit from it.

SV gemming question
Hi, I have been doing my best to keep on top of the correct setups and such for SV hunters. I just upgraded a couple items of gear today and as I have the data input on the spreadsheet, it is now telling me I need to re-gem to improve my DPS. Everything I had read said +20 agility gems for SV, but the spreadsheet is telling me to use +10agi/+10crit now, which would add 1.59dps per gem changed. Why am I seeing this now? I have the latest spreadsheet, as well as the last rev, and both show the same thing. I used the import gear/talents function, so I didn't enter anything wrong. I got the standard shot prioity, KS, ES, BA, MS, SrS, SS. My spec is at 5/14/52. Please let me know what you think.
