hi everyone i started playing hunter @ lvl 80,it was quite well geared..But...
But the problem is that i'm not so good in using it.
The main problems are:
1)dps,i have a strange dps. When i work on dummys in marksmanship i have around 2.6k dps,i used the rotation and the spec that i have studied reading ej.
The effective dps in 10 man was around 3.5.
When i went survival i had a big boost with my new spec doing something like 3700 dps on dummys.
In raid the dps went to 4.5,but it was sure not the boost i was expecting from might, king, and all other buffs.
I use The World of Warcraft Armory as my survival spec with glyph of explosive, steady and sure serpent one.
I start with serpent sting, then explosive, then black arrow, then multi shoot, and later i fill with steady shoot wy cd's on,the i use what finished cd first, and refresh serpent sting when necessary.
I use Rapid Fire also at the start of the combat, and kill shot when boss is under 20 %,asap.
Is maybe the rotation or the spec the main prob?
2)I have also both in survival and marks spec big problems with mana.I finish my mana really fast (around 90-120 secs) and obviously my dps falls down.Even if i'm near shamans totem it doesnt help me so much, maybe adds something like 10 secs more of mana.
The problem is also that not all the boss has mana,or it simply tells me "you cant cast it on that target".
The problem is a lot bigger in normal 5man runs, where i have to rec around every 2-3 pulls.
Yesterday i finished my mana at kezitrasza....
Is it maybe problem of spec or maybe rotation,or maybe both?
I'm sure a noob but i'm really interested in emproving the quality (in terms of dps and mana) of my game.
Is the above statement correct? I thought that the Serpent Sting ticks were based on the AP you have when you first apply them, chimerra refreshes the original strength of the Serpent Sting ticks. So for example:
If you start a fight in AotV and do not have hunter's mark on your target you will have a weak Serpent sting that will continually get refreshed as a weak serpent sting with every chimerra shot (even if you have put a hunter's mark on the target and gone to dragon hawk after the initial application).
Likewise, if in the middle of the encounter you get an AP increase (a trinket proc, a boss specific AP buff zone, etc) and you apply a new serpent sting over your current one, the new more powerful sting is what will continue to get refreshed by Chimerra shot.
This is similar to the way scorpid stacks were calculated (before the nerf) in TBC.
Which is right, my understanding or Pijn's above? Have I been wasting a GCD whenever I get an AP proc to apply a new serpent sting?
*feels like stabbing someone*
We've been over this a few dozen times in the past couple weeks, no the person you quoted is correct. Chimera refreshes serpent to your current AP and has since early wrath (or even since the start of wrath - the last time I remember using the persistent AP refresh was sunwell).
What chimera DOES NOT do is refresh to your current % damage modifier - you will maintain any % damage buffs or debuffs to your serpent sting that were active when you first cast it. If you want a listing of the various things this means, please read through the various threads, just about every one has it explained in explicit detail.
So, I'm not seeing better then 10,445 dps AND I cannot reach the cap, although I am getting very close. Granted I could put in Banner of Victory, but I'm doing everything possible to avoid it as I am only seeing dps losses when it is implemented. Here is the list of gear, buffs, spec, etc are normal for the ArP setup. Please tell me what I am doing wrong.
Also interestingly enough, using engineering instead of blacksmithing results in 10,430 dps. Could blacksmithing's usefulness be at an end come Icecrown?
Main Hand [Hellion Glaive]
Enchant Massacre (Two Hand)
Yellow Socket 1 Fractured Cardinal Ruby (20 ArP)
Red Socket 2 Fractured Cardinal Ruby (20 ArP)
I'm not getting the spreadsheet to download in a usable manner, Once downloaded, I am importing my charecter and it posts N/A for dps info and also trys to pull the secondary talents that I don't use as primary. What am I missing to get this to load correctly.
This shows a rogue in T8.5 pulling 10k dps on 25 heroic anub, as far as I thought, this was not possible until full BiS T9 258 gear.
His spec isn't anything unique, and as far as I know that encounter doesn't have any particular buffed dps like Hodir or XT.
Maybe it's a case of consistent tott and FoK spam, but it still seems high given the gear level.
Here's the deal: If your guild is doing the REGULAR 25-man Anubarak fight correctly (not the heroic since it is still an off limits topic here in this forum), the rogues should be left to focus on boss until he burrows, at which point all the adds are gathered together in a central spot for AoE spam. Combine FoK spam with clever TotTs from other rogues (which not enough of us do, by the way!) along with weapon switching macros, a FoK glyph (20% dmg right there), lovely crit/ArPen gear itemization, an elite level of skill and timing, I can see that kind of damage as quite realistic.
Also -- in heroic mode (I haven't seen it yet and I hope this isn't spoiling anything because it's merely speculation on my part), it's quite possible there are more adds, with more health, which means more cooldowns and procs -- and Rakez, being in that particular guild, probably had incredible raid buffs, and impeccable timing and utilization of all cooldowns and procs.
