I feel like an idiot for asking this but a few days ago a Newer level 80 druid friend of mine asked me if Genesis (Tier one Balance Tree) (Increases Periodic Damage and healing by 1/2/3/4/5%) also applied to Rake/Rip for feral. I know it does not seem logical that it would and i believe that bleeds of both of these skills are BLEED Damage and not considered PERIODIC for that talent. But after some thought i was still not sure. (I told him it was most likely not and to not spec into it and referred him to a standard starting feral spec.) I am aware that this may seem like a stupid question again but i have not done any testing on the subject and was wondering if anyone else has or knows the correct answer and can give reasoning supporting their answer.
10% extra spirit only works out to like an extra 1-3% crit, so no, I don't think it's worth dumping Incineration. But I'm thinking you could probably stand to take out one point from Magic Attunement or even Arcane Barrage (since pretty much any scenario casting it ends up being a DPS loss), but that's only if it's worth putting 3 points into IA.
I know that in 3.1 haste was better than crit for locks, at least until 600 or 700. In 3.2, because of the imp crit thing, is crit still worse to get than haste? or other way around?
Additionally, would it be wiser to use firestone now? or stick with spellstone like in 3.1?
Lastly, I was wondering if my rotation is currently screwed up. I'm goin CoD, immolate, conflag, chaos bolt, then incinerate spam and repeat. Of course, i life tap before the fight to get the sp bonus from the glyph. Just as well, i chaos bolt to get the speed bonus of conflag to maximize the efficiency of its damage.
I have a warlock who is just about to ding 80 and was wondering what spec to start pvping with. I have delved in to AV from 75 - 78 and used both a Destruction build and 2 Affliction builds. One used Destruction as the second tree, the other demonology. I found affliction was more useful to me through the health gains yet i am unsure of the best Affliction pvp spec to use as a fresh 80, firstly which tree to use as a second tree and secondly which talents to take in affliction. Some builds seem to take soul siphon others don't. Some take pandemic, again others dont. Obviously as a fresh 80 my spell power is minimal so I have 2 questions. Given that I will just be playing in Battlegrounds.......
Is affliction better than destruction without much SP?
If yes then what affliction build is best suited to my situation?
About rotation its usually better to put something between immolate and Conflagrate, either a curse of chaos bolt, since you waste some time for conflagrate to register theres a immolate up doing nothing.
I used to do FS9 -> FS8 -> Blizz -> (repeat) but since 3.2 I've switched to this: LB -> tab LB -> tab LB -> tab LB (until everyone has LB) -> Blizz (until first LB explodes) -> (Repeat). Granted, LB requires 11s to explode, and then every 1.5s later, but if the fight will last longer than 20s (and none of the adds die before that time), it's better DPS to keep LBing if all of the 'first batch' will explode their LBs. If there's something like 4 adds I use Blizzard as filler between the 4th LB and the next wave of LBs after explosion.
Also, if there's one among the pack of adds being AoE'ed that's stronger/need to be killed earlier than the others, then target him for the Hot Streaks that you will get. Of course this one works when there's alot of adds that don't die that fast (In Uld25 mainly). Sometimes when there's more than 7 I just keep tabbing LB (phase 2 Black Knight, Freya adds, etc) - 17k dps on Freya trash don't lie :p Try it out.
