Is it possible for us to pick up Aura mastery without loosing dps?

Ye i know that we loose some raid survability, but we are low on Holy paladins, and really need it for Heroic Twins.
Seen some ppl commenting about this earlier, but to me it seems that the only thing we will loose picking it up, is raid survability.

+ 2 points more in BoM or something

We know that the first 4 abilities used will be some order of Dark Twin Pact, Light Twin Pact, Dark Vortex, and Light Vortex. However, is there any mechanic preventing the 4th and 5th special abilities from being identical? Can anyone remember a time where the same ability was used twice in a row?

From anecdotal evidence, there isn't. I've seen the same ability used two times in a row a few times.

Ignorance can be solved with a book. Stupidity requires a shotgun and a shovel.

Yes, it happened to us once. I remember it because it cost us our first 10 HM twins kill. We were dpsing light twin and ignoring dark twin pact. The 4th and 5th abilities were dark pact. This was before the 3.2.2 patch.

Hi. i m not sure some1 answered that question before. Is 4 piece of t8.5 better than 3p t9 + 1p t9.25(shoulder). [3 conquest , 1 triumph ]

Had my first run at using Arcane last night in VoA-10, ToC-10, and ToGC-10. I'm not sure what makes such a huge difference, but when i first used Arcane in early Ulduar days I really hated it. But now I love it, and not just for the pretty nice numbers.

We did not have any replenishment, and only one time did I ever feel constrained for mana - although you do need to make liberal use of mana gems and evocations. I know I could of performed better but was still adjusting to some new macros and keybinds, as well as a completely different mentality than I have with Fire/TTW. This was also our first attempts at ToGC that made it past Gormok! (some fun surprises on the Jaraxxus fight!)

The biggest aspects I loved were the consistent damage and on-demand burst and the cooldowns are more useful than with Fire. The biggest trouble I had (which also makes the spec exciting to me) was fishing for that MBar proc. It felt like gambling when I had a 4 stack and went for 2 more casts. I lost some DPS time though waiting for the 5th or 6th cast to land to see if I got a proc though. I didn't want to go into too many stacked AB casts but didn't want to waste a MBar proc.

There's definitely room for improvement but so far Arcane's looking pretty good.

You guys are right. Although, I think I've made pretty good use of it. Granted its more for tight situations, such as, we did 10 man 1 keeper zerg kill (i think we were going for the quick kill achievement or something, I honestly can't remember), but I had to heal it with an ele sham on the side, so we could get the extra deeps in there. I also like to use healing wave pretty regularly. That alone almost had me ooming, so there are situations where the int helps, but i'm sure other trinkets would be better in your regular raid setting.

Does this mean you stopped casting? If so, that's a bad idea. I believe it's better to cut your losses, cast an Abarr, and start your stacking of AB again.

I've noticed a couple of defects in the rawr.mage modeling for Arcane.

First off, the level 258 version of Reign of the Dead is rated almost 300 dps below the level 245 version. This makes very little sense, but I presume that both versions of the trinket are still the BiS for Arcane mages as well?

Secondly, the Onyxia25 Netherwind Crown does not have the socket bonus in rawr that it does in the game (+9 sp).

I would like a second opinion on my trinkets.

I am currently capped on Hit via gear, so I am simply stackng SP trinkets. I currently use IotDS and EotBM. I have Scale of Fates but don't use it; I don't like the Haste-based proc effect vs. the static bonuses of the other two trinkets. I don't have access to any other trinkets from Ulduar.

I am wondering if the trinket from Anub'arak (normal, 25 version) Reign of the Unliving (150sp) is better than Eye of the Broodmother (I think it is), and if so, by how much (but not by much, perhaps). Also, I feel like I have used IotDS for quite a while, am I missing another trinket that is better? I have read a few items about the new trinket, mostly by others dismissing it as 'not very good', but relative to my situation, I wonder if it is a trinket I should try to aquire or if skipping it is in my best interest.

Assuming I need no Hit Rating from trinkets, is there any list currently available that perhaps would list all trinkets available from Ulduar and ToC from top DPS to bottom with relative values for each?

Hi there,

till patch 3.2.2. i played combat, now i wanted to specc mutilate and i got a question:

which specc should i choose?

Standart mutilate specc with

a) Relentless Strikes 5/5 and 3/5 QCQ
b) Relentless Strikes 0/5 - CQC 5/5 Lightning Reflex 3/3

I really dont know how much RS is worth vs 10% haste and 2% crit

An other questen would be:

Is ArP important as mutilate rogue? do i need an ilvl gear ~245 to play ruptureless cycles?

Hope someone can help me

I have been reading the topic for a while, but a question has remained unanswered for me.
When should i remove Arcane Shot from my rotation. And most of all, why should i even consider removing it from my rotation - doesn't it do more dps, than channeling a Steady Shot?
