well, up to a certain point, it still is. as it has been mentioned in a few other posts in this forum, the nerf wasn't so drastic. it just means that you need more ArP than you did before to achieve the same increase (or at least thats what i've understood)

to know up to what point, i'd recommend you pick up the latest spreadsheet and play around with it for a bit.

Help

I require the assistance of all you OP Destros.
I'm a GM and need to figure out what my raiding locks are doing wrong, since their DPS is blah.
Other than their rotations need to be tweaked, since patch 3.2.2, is the Life Tap glyph still OP over Chaos Bolt (what they currently use)? Gear wise, they are at least 2-piece T9.25 and Ilv 226+ (SP based).

I don't believe there is going to be much assistance we can provide without a combat log parse. You didn't even include what guild it is let alone character names so we can armory them.

I don't think I've ever seen Glyph of Chaos Bolt suggested as a good choice for a raiding destro build. Should be using Incinerate, Conflagrate, and either Life Tap or Immolate. If you're absolutely min/maxing, I believe Life Tap is slightly more DPS, but it basically comes down to your warlocks' ability to keep the buff up. Immolate is more fire and forget.

I'm looking at the new dps spread sheet, and the rupture-free cycle and rupture cycle dont change my dps at all. Even in T8 gear or T9 gear. Is this happening to anyone else? On this spreadsheet i still see T8>T9.245.

Hey guys, from all these rotation examples and stuff i think i missed and can't find the most important question for me.
What are the optimal stats for an arcane mage? I've heard stuff to get like 2800 spell power and 700ish haste, ignoring crit, is that true? what are the optimal numbers and why?

Well you're gonna want to have as much spellpower as possible. You can go Arcane at anypoint, don't need a certain amount of spellpower. Haste is all dependent on your mana pool really. On my mage raid buffed I have right at 31k mana and I have 812 haste rating. I could personally use some more haste to clean out the mana pool each boss fight. You should use a spreadsheet of some type to figure out the right amount of haste for your own mana pool. There is no optimal haste number. You want to convert as much mana into DPS as possible.

OH weapon speed

Hello I know a faster weapon in the offhand is better for combat for combat potency procs but my question is this:
How much less is a 1.5 vs a 1.4 weapon worth assuming they have the same dps. i know there has got to be a ep value placed on OH weapon speed but the only place i can find anything is on shadowpanther and i dont really trust it so much. TYVM for your time.

Hi, is anonye able to work out the optimal rotation when Arcane power is up. I usually spam Arcane blast but this is costly on mana.

I've got to admit I love having massive amounts of gold, it makes wiping 20 times over in a raid somewhat painless (oh its just 200g, hohoho). Today I used up a few thousand gold to buy all the Books of Glyph Mastery for my inscription, just because I wanted to.

But a quite useful thing to do with lots of gold is attempt to buy drops in instances, in particular VoA, off other players (I'll give you 500g for that T8 piece) etc. Practice your haggling in a PUG environment.

Well i see what you're saying. But It wasn't on a diff night, it was ToC 10 heroic and because our group is still having trouble with beasts, i actually did 6 fights with arpen gems and had agi gems in backback to swap and did ... and keeping rupture up was definitely a noticeable increase.

but hey i guess ill just blindly follow the spreadsheet no matter how uncomfortable that makes me.
