About dps..
what should try to get/improve/re-gem/get more of?
was doing 3130dps at patchwerk(25man)
felt i was doing way to low
and how much would a webbed death dagger with berserk increase my dps?

I am having a real hard time with mutilate. Everyone tells me how easy it is and how it is the best spec and how they are top dps in their raid. And I read the same thing here.
My guild is doing 10 man Naxx - the raid primarily comprised of Warrior tank, DK off tank, 2 Warlocks, 1 Mage, 1 holy Paladin, 1 holy Priest, 1 ret Paladin, 1 Rogue (me) and a Shaman that is either resto or enhance.
Very rarely am I top 3. Not even on Patchwerk. My hit is not capped, but I am gemming for it. I have all the gear I can get my hands on and I have terrible luck on rolls or drops. I am not fully enchanted yet either, but neither is my raid.
I know the rotations. I start the fight with 3 stacks of Hunger (who came up with the idea of 3 stacks?), SnD, then throw down at least 4 point Rupture and try to get a at least 4 point Envenom. But I can never do that before my SnD's run out. Even if I've been lucky with crits and got a 5 point Envenom off to refresh my SnD, by the next cycle, after Rupture, I do not have time to Envenom, then SnD drops, I have to wait to get that going again and then I am all off with the whole cycle. I just can not get it to work - the combo points just are not coming. I have tried to to everything right. Am I just really that bad of a player? Is it my gear? The fact that my hit is only 292 or something?
I am ready to just go combat, but I have to wait for weapons first.

This puts the value of each at 2.34% haste vs. 1.36% crit (assuming my math is correct, please correct me if I'm way off!). I realise since its the same % value increase for each it doesn't change the weight in terms of usefulness, but I just wanted to point that out for accuracy's sake .

Rogue normal DPS is also present in that log... a few steps down. Hunter DPS is simply too high - not a bug...

Rogue dps in this log NOT a bug
HAT rogue working as intended (c) Blue post.
So i cant say that our dps is too high (except aoe, and "bugged" scorp poison).

If we remove the HAT Rogues then the second Hunter is placed 5th. He uses a Cat while the top Hunter uses a Scorpid. The Scorpid is vastly OP, no denial, no complaints at it's nerfs, needed indeed. The Cat is getting a nerf too, if not terribly hard it seems. Both are 50/21 Hunters. So by the very spec and petchoices they will get 'fixed' a fair bit lower due to acceptable changes. Any added nerfs will just put them way too low for the value they otherwise bring. Few buffs, medium to low single target stationary DPS (what about DPS on petunfriendly fights? Comparable to tanks acceptable to you?) and voeful AoE to boot.
Yes, fix the blatant problems and they will correct our DPS all by themselves.

World of Warcraft - English (NA) Forums -> Nerf or fix rogue HAT spec
Rogues should be doing very high dps if not the highest dps for some fights. If that isn't happening we will buff them (ideally in a way that does not inflate their PvP damage potential).
There is a known bug with Honor Among Thieves where multiple rogues with the ability in one group generate too many combo points. It isn't our intent that this bug make up any PvE dps deficiency.
A similar bug was mentioned months ago where only one rogue in a group would receive combo points frequently if other people in the group received a lot of crits. This is working as intended as far as we can tell.

i think this is one of the most interesting subjects on PvE talk lately. but sorry if i missed a point on this one;
so i'd like to ask a question about the poison of choice here. why use wound poison instead of instant or deadly ? (for pve that is ofc)

Hey guys,
Just wondering what's considered 'needed' to do some damage as Retribution Paladin in Naxx 10m & 25m.
I apologize if there's already a topic on this. I haven't been able to find it however...
My Armory atm: LINK
Could be usefull for all other retadins aswell.
Maybe a small sticky for all pala's, just to know what we should aim for?
Thanks

It basically matches up the same as pre-nerfs. They barely touched the Scorpid and Cat at all and Scorpid is still by far the best pet. However, I'm told that the Spirit Beast scales ridiculously well with full raid buffs now and that in a raid situation it should be a top contending pet, but I'm unable to test that.

I personally will be running with a priest healer in 2's. I went through all 4 seasons with him pre-Wrath on my rogue so I am wondering how it will work with a DK. I currently haven't done in arena yet though to give any feedback. I will more than likely spec a Frost/Blood build at first and go from there.

Furious attacks is a purely pvp talent and if that's the case, you'd need Heroic fury and you don't have it. Drop Furious attacks and go 3/3 Bloodsurge. It gets a little better come patch and once you get the crit, it is up a lot and does considerable damage.

I put the points in rend as filler points sense i should be behind the target when not tanking it if they ever bring out the dual specs. Thanks for the input on my build i will try out the changes suggested and see what happens.

I have been trying to keep up on this thread for the sake of keeping up on my max DPS, but I haven't seen anything about whether or not they fixed the problem with the SS glyph and the talent Marked for Death. Have we seen this fixed or is this fixed in the PTR as of now?
Thanks

Nice numbers Osse. I notice that your current build takes advantage of Readiness and that your DPS pet choice is a Tenacity pet.
I would love to see your new DPS numbers for Patchwerk after the 3.08 nerf. In theory, Readiness will no longer work and Scorpid DPS gets whacked.

I am currently a mutilate rogue I have 320 hit 17 exp unbuffed. I was wondering if that is to much hit, I know its to little exp. The other rogue in my guild that raids is only at 210 hit and 28 exp unbuffed but it seems like he only misses about 2 - 3% less then me in 25 mans(he is currently Combat). Some fights does 200-600 more dps then me.

Hey guys, I have an alt mage that I raided with some during BC and am planning to level up again in wrath.
I raided him as 40/0/21 and from my assumptions, 50/0/21 (a-la
WorldofWarcraft.com -> Info -> Classes -> Mage -> Talent Calculator
) looks like it should be very close to the ffb generic.
How do you guys feel it would scale in comparison to ffb generic (/elemental)?
My original intention was to use glyph of frostbolt, glyph of AP and glyph of molten armor. I'm strongly considering going for glyph of ffb instead of frostbolt though. I'm not sure how each would scale. It appears there's 4% of a greater coefficient with frostfire than frostbolt, but it's also at the expense of .5 seconds cast time.
Thanks.
