Sorry, slightly off topic here but I really did not want to start another thread just for this.

Is /cast [target=mouseover] xxxxx working for a mouse click with Clique or not when directly targeting a player ? It works fine with a frame of any sort but I would really like it to work on players and can't seem to make that happen. It works fine with a keyboard shortcut. I am using Grid for raid frames and X-perl for all others.

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

PvP Priest PvP - Disc/holy is it viable? Questions asked

(Legend: Red Highlights refers to talents)

I have been using a build 54/17 and I just modified it to suit my style of fighting.
I will be discussing about 2v2 arenas

I'll try to give my advice on most spells here and let me know your advice also so we can,
together, make something more effective maybe.

And i have also been using my Pve Build with half PvP half Pve gear
The pvp gear I'm talking about is the Frostsavage gear made from tailoring.

I ended up with around 1900 spell power and 250 resil 17k hps with Stam Buff. I could totally use my old pvp gear to get around 500 resil but i would have no spell power and alot less health also.

I have a few questions about some choices I have seen people make in their builds.

Why Silent resolve ? I have seen a few people use it but I'm wondering whats the use ?
Theres less chance they will dispel your buffs and your PW:S ?

What is the new Resilience cap ? and what is the best meta gem for arena healing?

Meditation is a must have talent we always need extra mp5 as a priest healer...1 mending can save the whole thing

Since most priests have only instants I see more use of mental agility than absolution since it affects all the spells we cast.

Also with the new arena season (S5) i tend to use Improved Divine Spirit to gain extra spell power it adds 80 spell power and the improved inner fire also adds around 55 spell power. Thats a good bonus considering our spell power will lack effectiveness at start of season.

Also if i can give a heads up on a special spell...borrowed time when you PW:S yourself makes your mana burn go really really fast...You can mana drain someone pretty quickly if you use power infusion just before. So that is to consider when you will be facing pally healers or resto druids.

Aspiration - there's something i dont like about it. We dont depend on the spells that are affected by this talent.
I'm wondering if it's that useful since the cooldowns of those spells are already descent. Ok pain suppression can help but i mean you only use once in a combat usually...i rarely used it twice.

As you can see, I am not supporting every of the choice I made, some choices I still think they could be replaced with something better. Help me improve if you can!

Having divine Fury is simply useless you have desperate prayer to heal yourself instantly...why would you greater heal ?
I rather bubble mending then flash heal instead of greater healing myself...And we know in arenas, kicks stuns etc come so fast u dont wanna try to gheal yourself...u simply wont unless you have the badge trinket procing at same time as you have power infusion up... that would make a gheal at 1.4 sec cast!

Penance - I am worried about the effectiveness of this spell... It doesn't do good damage its there only to save your friends. In most BGs i end up healing myself trying to survive in arenas if i have time to cast penance i surely have time to cast Flash heal... the only thing that would work well with penance is the Divine Aegis since any of the 3 penance hits can make a bubble on your allie if they crit. And if a rogue kicks you, you can still use your holy spells...that might be a good point.

In pvp as disc/holy (little holy). I would not use crit i would rather go for :
(in order of priority)
spell power, spirit, intellect, mp5 since it has more chance to let you survive longer enough so your dps kills the other healer. If fights dont last long for now, they will significantly become longer as you go higher in the arena ratings. More skilled you get the more survival abilities you have.

I have seen some people talk about the Disc/Shadow spec...its really fun to try ! But you need to sacrifice the crucial things for it...
Healing focus in Holy has to be taken anytime in pvp. When you have a melee class on you, its simply impossible to heal yourself without that. that is just 1 talent that prolly screws all the shadow disc builds ...

Rapture - Looks interesting cuz it says 2.5% it looks like the Vampiric Touch...but dont be mistaken it only works on spell cast and its not a "buff".
In fact I think we need to clarify this talent.
what does it do exactly?
"Causes you to gain mana equal to 2.5% of your maximum mana each time you heal with gheal flash heal and penance, or damage is absorbed with PW:S or Divine Aegis.
Increasing the amount healed or absorbed increases the mana gained."

anyone has a chart to illustrate the real bonus it gives?
So if i have 18k mana and i heal with flash heal I would get back 450 mana?
Free Spell or nearly? What about the absorption ? how much mana does it give back when you have a 2k absorb on PW:S ?
Wouldn't the imp PW:S be useful if we find out the real amount of mana it gives back?
And if that is the case then we should stack more intellect cuz we would get more and more mana back...in a point where flash heals would cost 0 ? Nope cause if you look at allakhazam flash heal says its 18% of your base mana.
But rapture would become a must-have talent in arena if we found out the bonus mana it gave when it absorbed.

To conclude: Renewed hope is not a spell i would recommend, i dont like the idea of having to spend more mana to crit on someone. And if it's a warrior you can't simply bubble him cuz he will lose rage.

Survival tip against:
Warriors- When you bubble yourself they dont gain rage ! And if your allie doesn't touch the warrior he will not gain rage enough to do anything on you... so you can kill his healer instead. A priest with full mana vs a warrior with 100 rage you can't win.;o)
Rogues - bubble yourself and throw divine hymn (1.5 sec cast) incapacitated for 20 seconds...and heals you a bit also.
Resto Druid - fear them then bubble yourself power infusion mana burn to death...

I need to know tips about :

Death Knights - Still trying to figure out how to remove that "spell immune bubble"
Hunters - I'm still trying to find a way to survive in the new arena map with the Fire trails on the side and nearly no line of sight break. It's pretty hard to survive against them. Some people will say ...run around the pillars...they are up for like 20 seconds and I dont know when they are going to rise up. Is there any way to know ?

After talking about Penance I thought about removing it from my spec, it would look like this :

I took away Divine Aegis - Grace and Aspiration so now I can have faster greater heals and full blessed recovery which might help when I go down fast.

Well I hope people will reply to this and help me improve my PvP spec. We priests, are thrown in a strange world with Wotlk where Dps has been increased we are little in our shorts!

Again, feel free to comment anything i wrote in here and I really like when people link new talents with wowhead. It helps people read and we know what you are talking about!

They need to replace Immolation Trap and Explosive trap with Immolation arrow and Explosive arrow.

I think that pretty much solves the situation of having to dance around like retards to maximize dps.

my hit is in good standing at 8% , now if only i could keep up with dps, , my spellpower unbuffed is nasty, im 0/41/30. im replacing some gear with frostsavage and getting some better enchants

the reason why I ask this is... if DW specs are constantly casting IT again well before the disease dot fully ticks off... it would be gimping the damage to get epidemic if it deceases each individual tick... sure it'd make PS ticks last longer.. but with all the increased damage we get for IT.. wouldnt it overall be a decease?

anyway, if someone knows id love to find out...

Storm, Earth and Fire: This talent has been moved up in the tree, and it’s talent points have been reduced to 3 down from 5. Wind Shock is also included in the range increase (with Earth Shock). The damage bonus to Flame Shock has been increased, up from 10/20/30/40/50 to 20/40/60.

Thats from the latest PTR patch, says nothing about changing the actual stats on the CD, just says it was reduced in points because it was moved up in the tree.

I can't say how much glee the nerfs to CoH are bringing me. Maybe this isn't the appropriate thread, but I have to cavort with joy somewhere. Seeing priests literally doubling and tripling everyone else's healing on a large number of fights has gotten annoying and I'm looking forward to contributing a larger percentage of the healing to the raid.

First of all I would like to say that the following comment only concerns PvE, because I think rogues still are very strong in PvP (maybe even too strong when fighting warlocks).

The sole purpose of a rogue in pve imo is, and always has been to deal heavy single target dmg. No matter what changes Blizzard have made since day 1, there have always been a way for a skilled rogue to occationally top the meters in many boss fights. This is what have changed with WotLK, now the only way to top the meters is exploits:S.

Ive always played rogue, Ive raided hardcore at times and some times Ive played more casual, but Ive always felt that thrill from trying to beat other good dmgdealers on meters. Now I mostly feel the agony from having to fight like a maniac to stay above other melee classes with much greater survivability and diversity than the rogueclass, like retribution paladins and dps warriors (with the warriors beating me in many fight I'm supposed to own, like thaddius and patch). In Vanilla WoW and TBC I was consistently a top 5 dpser, in WotLK with pretty much the same ppl as TBC Im now struggleing to stay in top 10. Equally geared warlocks, hunters, SPs and mages are pretty much untouchable, and in combat spec Im often beaten by fury wars and DKs, and struggleing with retri palas, shamans and tanks (DK and Feral if there are multiple mobs). Might be because Ive always been a crappy player only beeing able to do good dps, because I was a rogue, but since Ive always been one of the better rogues in my guilds I dont think thats the issue... I think we have been balanced into oblivion.

From my perspective Blizzards idea of balancing has now reached a level where the pure dps classes have become greatly inferior to multispec classes, because we will never be able to offer the same diversity and now we can only at best offer the same dps. I can understand why Im beeing beaten on trash where AoE dmg gets the job done as it is now and tbh I dont care about that, Im not an AoE class and I dont want to be one, eventhough its my AoE dmg abilities Blizzard consistently have buffed and seems to keep buffing in WotLK. If I wanted to be able to AoE I would have rolled a mage or a warlock...

Regarding specs I must admit that I havent tried subt yet in WotLK, since I dont want to use the HaT bug and make us look better than we are (and thereby contribute to Blizzard overrating rogue dps as it is now). But neither in Muti nor Combat (Fist/dagger) have been able to get up where I think a rogue should belong (at best Im 3-5 on patch if I get all group buffs), but more often Im 6-7ish. This really pains me since my time to shine is supposed to be when I deal heavy dmg. With the threat tanks deal these days our low threat per dmg has become useless as well, and ToT is only useful if you have another rogue in the raid whom can return the favour.

It can even be hard to get a raidspot now because it doesnt matter what class you bring dpswise, and since all other classes in some way can contribute with buffs/debuffs a medicore arms warrior or enhc. shaman can sometimes be better to bring than a good rogue, because they with their buffs increase the overall dps more then the difference between a rogue and other melee classes. Ive yet to see the day my RL tells me that Im in because they find it amazing that I can move around in stealth, pickpocket, or because I in the future might be able to take only 50% of the AoE dmg that will easily be avoided by ranged dps.


After reading what I just wrote, I can see that Ive done something I swore I'd never do... Ive made a whinepost, but hope Ive managed to address the issues that atm is making many rogues sad pandas and thereby added to the discussion by making more brilliant minds than me think about solutions.
I truely deeply feel that Blizzards approch towards balancing the dps of all dpsclasses is making a pure dps class, as rogues are, very much less desirable to play.

Then tell me how a talent that reduces the cooldown by 0.5 seconds every point manages to do 2.5 with 3 points where it used to do 2.5 with 5 points. The other parts were mentioned because they did change...

Right now my hit rating is 249, which is the best hit rating that I have to get?
