Just wanted to get some thoughts on my build as I noticed it was said in the beginning that the 44/27 build is experimental and its not been seen on top of the DPS charts but from what I've seen with my setup, it has been. Gear wise, most of my gear sucks (compared to the new tier gear of course, only just recently got my first piece of T8) -
WoW Heroes - World of Warcraft PvE character info & ratings. I've never been much for "cookie cutter" builds as I usually don't have luck with them so have been doing my own builds lately. I'm doing a 44/0/27 (
The World of Warcraft Armory - 2nd talent tree) build mainly for UB and perma-ghoul. After testing DRW I noticed perma-ghoul does nearly the same DPS as my DRW. Since the ghoul is out permanently, he'll do more total damage than DRW.
For glyphs I use: Glyph of Death Strike, Glyph of the Ghoul, and Glyph of Dark Death. The last I chose over the UB glyph because I found that it actually will do more damage than the extra 40% UB glyph. Say for instance DC deals out 1k damage, UB should do 200 dmg. With the UB glyph it should have done 280 dmg whereas the DD glyph would have caused DC to do 1150 damage then causing UB to do 230 damage giving you 100 more damage per hit overall.
As far as DPS charts go, so far most of the boss fights I've been in with other blood DK's in the group, I'm usually able to top the ones with gear scores around mine (one of them for instance had a GS right over 300 points higher than mine yet I was able to do at least 400 dps more than them, sometimes even higher. They had the normal blood spec with DRW and, like I mentioned above, their GS was right over 300 points higher than mine. I still have the Titansteel Destroyer and they either had the Edge of Ruin or Ironsoul, can't remember off hand.
Basically I guess what I'm just trying to find out is: is what I'm doing only going to work well with my crap gear or will it do just as well as the normal specs with better gear? Will DRW eventually out perform the perma-ghoul with better gear? That is one of my big questions.
As far as rotation goes, I keep it very short and simple as I never have had luck with what seems to be the normal rotations (stuffing some extra HS's and DS's in the end of the rotation). Start off with IT, PS, DS, should be able to hit DC by now, HS, HS then repeat. I'll hit DC almost every time it is up, unless it will drop my RP below 25 for the DS buff. If I'm at 45 RP when it starts over again at IT I'll hit DC then go through the rotation and have 25 RP by DS, then of course after that DS I'll hit DC again.
With that quick rotation, I always have diseases up, always have UB up, and besides the very first run through never have any moment that I'm not using an ability off the GCD. With the very first run through the rotation you'll only get one DC off which means by the time IT comes around you'll have to wait very shortly for the frost rune to come up then its just constant attacks after that.
If its a boss battle I'll usually immediately start off with a macro to use my engineering gloves (haste) and Hysteria at the same time (and currently included in the macro is my HH helmet to do the laugh for extra effect haha). After that I'll use my gloves every minute that its up and once Hysteria is up again I'll try to time it to use them both again.
As far as numbers go, DC is usually in the top 3 so far always above DS. For normal hits DC hits quite a bit harder than DS on the practice dummy with normal hits. DS will out damage DC on crits but they're still pretty close. With UB mixed in DC crits are about the same or slightly better than DS (this is all using the Sigil of the Vengeful Heart for extra DC damage). Overall damage wise, DC always outperforms DS due to getting to use it twice almost every rotation. HS and melee always kind of trade around spots but is always in the top 4 places, where it should be of course.
On boss fights, I've been able to spike as high as 5k dps and have been able to sustain around 4k before. More often than not I can sustain around 3500 dps in 10 man raids, and in 5 man (depending on buffs) I can keep it around 2600 to 2800 dps.
Sorry for the long post, just wanted to post my experience with my particular build and maybe get some ideas. Thanks all!
