Hopefully they will not just nerf it - instead they will add an alternative (rogue patch notes for 3.3 are not soo huge)

So ... if you like the idea - (i don't think it is perfect) - but maybe it is a solution the dev's are looking for - so somebody could carry it to the US-Forums and so on - so it can spread a bit
here it is:
Deadly Poison works until 5stacks exactly like it does now in Patch-3.2.2, the change i want to add is - if you reached 5stacks (this where ppl start to swap) - your DP of your offhand deals Instant Damage if you hit your mob (and it procs)
since DP (if iam informed right) has an "inner"-Cooldown of 3seconds (due to prevent that it never will tick) it is already maximized in Ppm's (20 procs)
the instant Damage follows one(1) of the following three(3) formulas:
1) InstantDamage= ProcChance (includes Talents)%*currentTickDamage (30% w/o talents, 40% w/ talent)
2) InstantDamage= ProcChance (includes Envonem + Talents)%*currentTickDamage (would end up with 40% + (depends on uptime) 0-15% (Envenom Buff))
3) InstantDamage= (1/3)*currentTickDamage
so basicly this means:
DP deals damage on application (second zero) - already "controlled" by Proc-Chance and (inner-Cooldown)
Calcs: (all values are taken from my raid logs and combat against Jaraxus (no aoe-spreading))
Combat Rogue Avg. DP5 dmg: 1285.8
Mutilate Rogue Avg. DP5 dmg: 2031.2
Combat would end up with:
1)
w/o talent : 385.74
w/ talent : 514.32 (~avg Wound Poison dmg)
2)
depends on Envenom usage & talent - not skilled (assume) would end up lower than talented ( not dp stacks on target after envo)
3)
428.6 dmg (lower than WP dmg but its additional dmg to DP - so it will lead to more)
Mutilate would be like that:
1)
w/o talent : 609.36
w/ talent : 812.48 (~avg Wound Poison dmg)
2)
approx. 100% uptime of envo buff (rupture less cycle)
0.55* 2031.2 = 1117.16
approx 30% uptime envo buff (with rupture)
(0.4+(0.3*0.15))*2031.2 = 903.884
3) (1/3)*2031.2 = 677.06_ (6_ = period 6)
Again note:
I don't know if there is a inner-cooldown on Deadly Poison if it is 3seconds - it should be fine with this values
Mutilate F1 ~= 203.12dps (w/o talent) // 270.826_ dps (w/ talent)
Mutilate F2 ~= 372.386_ dps (100%) // 301.295 dps (30%)
Mutilate F3 ~= 225.687 dps
-- double dipping etc. /synergies i know might look too good but that's just an idea how to fix it
hopefully it is right here in this thread :x
as i don't know how much additional damage (dps) weapon swapping willl lead too - but it think for mutilate it is approx +300-500 dps
Formula 2 isn't that bad
Additional Informations:
This additional 0s proc should only occur at 5stacks / application of the 5th stack (so from 4->5, and refresh of 5stacks)
