A new player has entered the glyph market here and I am unsure of how to deal with them. Whenever he is undercut he will drop the price on all his glyphs to 2.25-2.75g each (normally all the way from 25-30g). This still gives me enough room to turn a profit so of course I'm not going to stop listing. This guy is killing the market price without actually reducing his competition. I have tried to him about this but all I get are flippant responses.

What would you do here?

So my first post here, long time reader

I'm having this problem: on normal totc i'm doing just fine, 5.5 - 6k average. Top 5 in the list usually. But we've now been trying heroic beasts of northrend and i just can't seem to keep up good dps... i seem to drop as low as 4.7k at times, don't even make top 10 in the dps list. Now i'm hoping anyone of you guys can give me some pointers.

Here's what i do:

i have a powerauras setup with this priorities:
- keep Rend up
- Heroic Strike when i have more then 75 rage
- Bladestorm on every cooldown, but preferably make sure rend is up for the duration of the bladestorm, overpower proc has just been used and preferable have no sudden death proc up
- Mortal Strike when usable
- Overpower, make sure it's used within 6 secs
- Sudden death proc
- Slam on > 40 Rage when everything else is on cooldown

- When the boss is below 20% i tend to keep rend up and still use overpower procs in between the execute spamming because overpower seems to to more damage on average.

i have an incite build, use glyps of mortal strike, rend and execution, think my gearing choices are good (getting 263 hit rating, expertise is too high but don't have gear with less that is better, gem for arPen,..) i use armor pen food and flask of rage.
Just before i enter combat is use an indestructable potion, so i can take another one when in combat and something needs to be burned down fast. Seconds before the pull, i go beserker stance, hit recklessness, switch back to battle stance and charge.

That's more or less what i'm doing. I'm usually playing at 100-150 latency.

So any advice is welcome.
Thanks for reading this.

Hello fellow hunters. Long time reader. New poster.

Anywho, I just have one fairly simple question.

I was looking through the PTR simcraft the other day for some of the top DPS classes for when the patch goes live, and I was seeing that there was actually a Marksmen spec that included improved hunter's mark. Now it only gives 150 AP to ever hunter in the raid that attacks that specific target, so my question is... How many hunters would you need for that talent to be better than everything you already have? I realize that in the "Best DPS Spreadsheet" Improved Hunter's Mark is included in the list of possible hunter buffs, but in truth, is it really that beneficial to the raid as a whole seeing as most raids don't consist of more than two or three hunters?

Hey Guys,

Wondering if someone can give me some advice. I'm sure this subject has been covered before but I'm not sure I'm clear on it. I'm basically i245 geared (1 belt/ ring/ trinket still to sort).

I've always been interested in creating an armor pen build but despite having run Thorim HM about 10 times, the runestone trinket has never dropped. I know it's more MM than SV but would be interested in experiementing with either.

Recently however, I have started to see top hunters stacking 750-850 armor pen (in some cases by gemming at the expense of agility) and running without the trinket. Any time I try that build out on the spreadsheet I see significant drops in DPS and don't want to spend the 2-3k regemming if it ain't going to work. Just wondering if anyone either 1) could explain why they are doing it or 2) could give me some advice on what sort of armor penetration numbers I should be looking for at my gear level?

I'm on the run atm but as a fast Q&A I would like to know if there are any OS X compatible rogue spreadsheets out there. The last I used was Vulajin's excellent sheet, but as of late he's been pretty busy and so I'd appreciate any help in finding one that runs the macros correctly in a MS Office OS X environment (2003 and 2008/9 versions).

Depends on what your goal is. If ur goal is to keep a large profitmargin, you can simply back down and let his fallback prices come into play and then start posting again. However with a few glyph players on the server, this wont work.

If you have the time, your goal should be to win the cat and mouse game. cancel and repost the second they log of. They will spend alot of time at the mailbox, getting few sales. their stock will not deminish though. Your goal should be to convince them that the gold/hour isn't worth it. Speeding up the process is done by draining AH of herbs, pushing up prices on AH and farmers. Hopefully he will lose gold on each glyph sold, as will you. But you should have the cash to withstand and win these small battles. Some players choose to empty their stock and leave the business. others reduce the crafting cost by farming themselves, with a very low gold/hour as a result. You might even notice some of your former competition becoming one of your suppliers.

Did you guys notice they nerfed the T9 4setbonus from 20% to 10% dmg of Lava Burst?
That makes the T9 setbonus gain only slightly higher then the T10 4 setbonus I guess but I rather wished they buffed the T10 instead ......

Considering the other dps classes get buffed I fear we will return to mediocrity :-(

I was able to get in ten or so five minute Mutilate parses on the PTR this morning and as 51/18/2 my Instant Poison damage was making up anywhere from 29% to 31% of my total damage unbuffed and the dummy undebuffed which is a 5% increase over weapon swapping on live. Standard weapon swap gems of AP and Ap/Haste.

In near BIS gear as Combat with a 20/51 build it really felt like I was considerably short on hit and haste for Deadly Poison applications without the added application bonus of Envenom. I used both Instant and Wound with both making up around the same damage although as others have said it feels as though Instant Poison will come out ahead on Patchwerk style fights and Wound will preferred on fights with target switching.

From what I have seen in little time with the two builds it does look as though the change is much (much) bigger for Mutilate. Certainly having a Wound Poison/Savage Combat bot for a guild will be needed but I don't see any reason to have all 2 or 3 Rogues in a 25 man raid be Combat anymore. I still feel Blizzard should make Blade Flurry do lower damage on the second target and then replace Throwing Specilization (by far the most useless talent in the game) with a 2 point talent that makes Rupture have a chance to crit.

Int badge trinket worth it?

I'm an arcane mage, and currently using Battlemaster's Ruination and Abyssal Rune for raiding due to unfortunately circumstances of never having come across better trinkets. My int is currently sitting at 1401 unbuffed with 2862 spellpower and 870 haste.

I was wondering if the badge trinket, Talisman of Resurgence, is worth picking up over either of those 2 trinkets that I'm already using.

Absolutely. That trinket is essentially the third best trinket in the game for arcane mages after the Reign of the Unliving/Dead trinkets off Anub. Furthermore, download Rawr and use it to answer any other gear related questions you may have.
