Hit will not change until levels change. Set 1 has more spirit, and a chunk more crit which I guess at your haste levels makes a bigger difference. The relative value of haste, crit, and spirit fluctuate depending on your own current levels.

There are no reasonable crit and haste caps as such. There are soft levels at about 40-50% crit and 800 haste where you will see a definite drop off in the increase they bring.

You can definitely afford to loose 40 hit in set 1, even more, down to 368 if you raid with a Shadow Priest or Boomkin.

What are your thoughts on minidots?

I'm on auchindoun, alliance, toon name is Minidots. Buffed in a 25 man, patchwork type fight I'm only pulling 5k. I used the life tap buff, but didn't notice an improvement. What does the extra sp equate to for damage. Rotation is imm, cb, conflag, spam Inc

Any positive advice is welcome. Also what will 3.3 bring fir us destro locks?

I can't Figure it out, Any

Hello everyone its Jimmae(again, haven't said much lately),

Our Guild Not Addicted, is currently starting TOGC and have TOC on farm status. I am wondering if i am doing something wrong with spec/talents/rotation/gemming or gearing. Originally i was the 57/14 build or fiddled around with that a little bit, and with my gear i did about 3400. Now I was convinced to try incite spec 55/8/8. In this spec i usually do about 3600-to a max of 4k.

My rotation is correct or so i believe, for both specs Execute/OP have priority over HS or Slam and rend should always be up use HS for incite whenever i can and use slam for the regular spec.

My gemming and gearing i go for the same things. Mainly ArP and crit/STR, my question is, w/the absence of Grim Toll or M.Runestone should i be stacking ArP or should i stack STR or maybe even crit? Or even more drastic idea, i do have dual-blade butcher and Edge of rune should i switch to fury?

All i know is that my dps is not where it is suppose to be, this may be due to my bad computer but i do not believe it is completely the computer's fault i maybe doing something dumb, like do mostof you end ups spamming execute/op so you can get it off the moment it comes up or is that a bad idea?

Sorry for wall of text but any answers would be great

I recently bought offspec resto for my shaman and I was wondering what the LEAST desirable healing stats would be for a shaman - Apart from spirit ofc. If you could list the stats in order of importance, that would be very much appreciated.

Combat Daggers

Hallo,

My question(s) is simply:

Is Combat daggers dead? It does not seem to be catered for on the sheets I have seen.
If so, why?
Looking at the available talents and the nature of the spell (150% weapon damage as opposed to a flat addition) surely it should scale well. It certainly used to be a strong if demanding spec.

(You might ask why I don't test it myself, I don't want to regem from agi/muti to ar pen/combat)

Anyhow, any clarification on it's current status would be appreciated.

Thanks!

O.

Super dead. Terrible (TERRIBLE) combo point generation for not nearly enough damage.

Awesome guide. Big help, including the responses by all the repliers. I think my DPS went up almost 1000 day after I printed this whole thread off and read it. Cheers to all the information provided here!!

I am doing what I can to get at least some of the BiS items, and no matter who you are, a few are attainable with a bit of blood, sweat, and tears... but, my question is, let's say there are a few of us out there who don't play 8-12 hours every single day, who are not driving around in Choppers or Great Black War Mommoths, and who are not members of guilds who eat Yogg for breakfast in a half-hour... Since this is a guide for dummies... it would be very helpful if someone could post a "2nd Place and 3rd Place BiS" list.... Know what I mean? Bracers of Swift Death are the best... so what are 2nd best wrist guards? What are 3rd best? Then I could at least go for 3rd and 2nd best in slot gear while trying to sneak my sorry butt into the odd 25 man PuG to try and ninja a Grim Toll out from under the noses of those who already have 3 already.

Again, thank you so much for the guide!

This would be quite difficult to do due to the way different bits of gear interacts with your stats, ie, there's generally not a cut and dried second best. The simplest way to find upgrades would probably be to plug your character into Rawr (found here), and work out which pieces of loot are realistically obtainable for you and go for those.

This is a nice Idea but these boards are not a good place to have discussions.

I tried to add to the discussion by posting the Results of my FIRST GDKP run but overzealous moderators took my post down and sent me a snide remark "What's next, Vent Logs". Simply because i posted a few of the Items that dropped and their price Along with my Thoughts on how the Run went. Which to some people might be interesting info.

I'm sure this post will get me banned but as it is now there's no point in having access anyways.

Edit: The reason I posted this is I was rereading the thread and came across requests like the above, several times, for people to 'share' their experiences... I thought it Ironic and worth mentioning the actual reality one finds here. NO offense to the OP or any of the other posters.

i hope its not a boring old question :

Does Frost Warding 2/2 has any influence on the procc of Incanter's Absorption? At Hodir or Icehowl i try to have frost armor every time up and now i am not sure if it was a good idea to place two points in Frost Warding because the tooltip says "...negate the warded damage...".

has anyone an answer?

thanks a lot

Hello fellow gold makers,I'd like to ask you a questione since I'm noting a quite different trend on my server.

Basically I'm not that a gold maker,I tend to get bored farming dailies/farming generally, and I like a bit more the AH play though still I'm not as good at doing that;I've read most of the topic and found good strategies and tried to apply them to my server and found that almost nothing really works here.

Let me explain:

I've got my main with 450 elixir mastery, but without a character to support with Herbalism(highest one is a lvl 70 lock without epic mount.)And 444 tailoring,so without any specific epic drop, or anything really valuable besides some bags/patches for legs.I thought on going levelling my alt deathknight to get some nice professions like mining/jewel back in the day, and when I hit 80 with him had a blast doing 12k+ gold with JC since I was basically only farming mining---> prospect---> cut blue gems--> profit. Both Characters finally got an epic and I stopped farming since more than 12k gold I didn't need at the time, now I just levelled my hunter to 80 and I don't have money to really fund him or any character besied him.He doesn't get a nice shiny epic mount since I'm at 4k on priest. He got engineering and an empty slot profession.
After this background here's the problem:

My server has some crazy prices.

I tried to use the nice spreadhseet(thank you to anyone who made it, it's awesome) and found that,at best, I can make 4g profit on doing:

1)Buy saronite ore
2)prospect
3)cut nice blue gems/sell uncut/transform 1 in epic every day
4)make greens with the uncommon+eternal
5)disenchant and auction

Fact is that most of the time this isn't realistic as a profit, since It happens only once or twice a week to find out those prices to get mats. And as I said I'm a bit a lazy bum and can't be bothered to farm with mining, also because everytime I do it, I can't really do a nice volume of money due to high competiton(less than 200g/h)

titanium ore according to spreadsheet is a 100g loss on every prospect(yeah it's that bad here.)

Now I'm really wondering, should I switch up to herb/inscription?I've read that it's a quite slow seller, and not good ofr make money in bulks, if I did understand correctly.

For now I've tried to do this, maybe for someone in a situation similar to mine could help, since it's the only way I found to make gold at the moment:

I start to level a character and get him in a good lvl range to start battlegrounds leveling, I rack up most of honor I can do, then as soon as I'm 80,I'll start doing every quest I missed, plus when I'm bored I get in BG again and farm more honor. After I get to the honor cap, I just buy mass gems according to what sells mostly, cut them, sell.

It could make you more than 5+++k gold easily, tough it's really really slow/boring/whatever you don't like about the process.

Atleast if you want to switch main you're already set

anyway, if you got some suggestions also for servers with a trend on having small profits for ench/jc/mining it would be awesome.Atleast I found this playing on crushridge-eu,maybe I'm just not tailored for doing this auction game D:

thank you in advance for any help/idea

@Sonne

The thing is that anything in this thread gets applied on every server. The whole prospecting Saronite took a turn for the worse when MMO-Champion released it's guide and introduced it to a lot of casuals.

WoW economy is a true free market, without any rules and legislation. As I recal one of the requirement is "perfect information" and with so readily available resources as mmo-champion and EJ forums I think it is fair to assume that anyone can get the cheap tricks they need from here.

I am also sure that most hard core tycoons have a few tricks up their sleeve that they are not sharing on this thread. So all in all I think this thread has outlived it's purpose as the information being shared is less and less interesting and innovative and even if it was it would get exploited on my server before I managed to log on anyways.

The only purpose I can see with this thread is to spread misinformation hoping to fool the opposition on our respective servers into building something we want to unload. Maybe I should give that a try sometime....

EDIT: The fact that a lot of the conversation lately has been about the perceived drop chance of Chalcedony speaks volumes of the dumbing down of the participants of this thread.

Real men have infractions on their EJ account!

My experience

I want to provide to anyone who's starting out my experience,I'll be honest, on our server we failed totally doing GDKP runs,I'll probably try again in the next weeks, but it just seems the mentality isn't right to do it.

I'll explain what I mean, so anyone who's starting will probably have less problems to face.

1st Issue,The playerbase.

Gdkp runs are awesome when they work because finally you are getting a "high level pug"as I like to call it.People are highly motivated to run it and to play well, because it's their gold in the pot,so you won't see many scrubs that make your raid fail.

The problem is when you got a server with a low playerbase that could run a instance well.

Example: on my server thare are only 5-6 guilds doing hard modes in a "decent way" and not even that decent by standards of other servers, most players struggle on doing toc 10/25 normal, and even those who come up doing heroic modes tend to do them with "best raid in guild",as you can imagine those players won't really join a gdkp run unless they have those qualities

1) a high lvl alt not used in guild runs
2) a lot of gold.

So basically you need a playerbase capable on doing instances, and interested on doing them not with their guild raid, this brings up the next problem

2nd Issue, The Guild

I really don't know how it works on other server, but by my experience on our server you are forbidden doing any kind of raid outside the guild. You may only bring your 2nd character to naxx/os runs, and in someguilds not even that. The guilds not having this restriction tend to suck a lot on their own, so the players you'll be getting aren't capable on doing anything. And those will make fail your raid hard sometimes.Plus they tend to have no gold whatsoever so you can't even have them dead in raid and just rack up their gold.

3rd Issue, The Gold

If you want a nice gdkp run you need people loaded with gold, people with some gold, and people with skill. Now as I said, you need players with skill willing to come to your raid, and if you server has some a few of them, and you can't convince them, you won't be able to do it well.

But that isn't the only problem, let's say you get 15 people highly skilled capable to clear the instance even with 10 dead slots. You need the other slots full of rich alts/mains willing to spend gold.

Now again, I don't know other servers, but in my experience I've found only a few people with gold(around 20k-40k at best) and they don't like to use them to get items, because they always hope "their guild will give them the items" even on alts. That could be a huge hit to your raid since not everyone really has a lot of money.

Last problem, the huge one.

Forming the raid.As you can imagine on crushridge we failed totally doing this most than all other problems suggested before.Basically you couldn't find a decent reaid leader to assemble the raid. It's been said a lot of times, but the raid leader here is the most important thing, you can't do anything without someone who REALLY knows what he's doing. He should basically know everything of the instances, the classes, the players, the gdkp system if you want to run a good run and have success.

This is how it's been my experience, I know it may sound a bit too harsh but those are real problems you'll have to solve on some servers.

take this example: at lvl 60 there was only an alliance guild doing naxx40 while the second one was still stuck at doing tries at bwl and aq40.The first ally guild obviously knew that for fouding the raids they had to come up with something efficient and they started a kind-of gdkp run.Basically the difference was that you only could get the item, the gold was staying in the guild bank. That worked for like...2-3 runs probably, not that much more.Someone got his full set at 60 and then the gdkp concept even if not in his true form died on our server.

Another guild tried at 70 but they couldn't even clear the thrashmobs of the instance, due to how much people sucked outside of those "skilled mains" so in tbc the idea was scraped again. At 80 now again 1 raid tried, but still they can't complete naxx25 and not even they can do first boss of toc 25 so as you can see, the system is awesome, but it has to fix some HUGE issues still.

I'm trying again to form up a raid under my leadership to find out a way to "fix" those problems, but I can't really see all servers doing this. You just need to have certain people with a certain mindset to make it work.

I hope this post could be useful to anyone who's starting out to identify what problems could arise even before starting the real raid. You really have to check out if you can make it work before, and after you're confident you should try it out. When it works it's awesome for sure
