Hi all, new to the game, new to the forums, but obsessed with the story.
Just got through some of the Lore on the blizz site, skimmed this thread, excited that people seem interested in the story as well as the gp like me.
Consider this story to end ICC:
Frostmourne and Shadowmourne finally meet, but their chaotic magics combined sunder the world again. (Think back to first sundering, where malf's release of the primal energies against the BL, but at a whole new epic level.)
In the destructive wake, Sar the dark titan thinks azeroth is lost, and bats a blind eye, playing right into Ner'zhul/Arthas's hands. (The lore states that KJ feared that the lich king was already growing too powerful, sending Illidian to take care of him before things spiralled out of control)
Fused lich king plans for shadow and frost to crack open the world, releasing fabled deathwing from the depths, since the cursed dwarves of the dark spiral don't possess the tools like ironforge dwarves to dig that deep.
All the mean time ... magic water from the eternal well has been leaking for over 9k years down to the depths, allowing Azashka (and her cursed naga/highborne elves) and Deathwing to grow powerful beyond belief.
This all sets up ... lol ... WoW 5, yes 5, the game after cataclysm, where Sar finally sees KT's failures, and decides to come to azeroth to take the newly discovered "super" deathwing and nagas.
Food for thought!

If you or your guildmates find out what is causing this please let me know, I have yet to find a way to get rid of this.

Any sys progs able to look into 3.3 code yet? I haven't been playing very long (3 weeks), but noticed considerable lag post 3.3. Could be growing pains, but pain in the butt, especially in instances, since tanks have been dying all the periodic spikes.

Hello
Thanks for that and I agree.
Was hoping there was some game mechanic that had changed that would cause this from Patch 3.3

Mavanas,
Concerning Black Magic, wouldn't the enchant get the same treatment as The Valanyr legendary where the proc is not available until 45 seconds have passed after the weapon has been equipped?
This could throw a wrench in our desires to do the black magic weapon swapping.
EDIT: Just tested this and there doesn't appear to be a Cooldown so far. But Blizzard might look into this very soon heh.

Beer-FriedRice
For you uber enthusaists, and mind you, you must be ridicuously hardcore:
Cook rice in 4 parts sapporo, 1 part natty (it needs to be watered down a bit )
Let rice sit out in the open for one day. (less moisture = more taste + staccato texture)
Chop 8 stalks of green onion, throw in pan of hot oil. If you like meat, throw some of that in too. No vegetables. (You're eating beer-fried rice. Get over the health crap)
Crack a couple eggs, don't scrabble! Put the eggs in the pan with your green onion and meat for abuot 30 seconds, then throw in your rice. Reduce to simmer for 15 minutes.
Enjy.

I think the big thing with aggro isn't that they did anything to any specific tank so much as they gave certain DPS classes massive buffs. Namely warlocks, who have always been awful at threat generation, and are now pushing 10,000 single target DPS in perfect standstill scenarios with perfect gear -- and that translates to ~7,000 sustained TPS.
Basically, it isn't that we got worse at threat generation so much as certain DPS classes got better at it -- and that makes us look worse, because we're having more difficulty holding threat off of them.

Lvling Advice
Dear All:
Hi all, new to the game, new to the forums. You guys are all pretty brilliant when it comes to spriest calcs, and to be honest, I spent the better part of work yesterday googling all the acronyms you use to understand what the you were all talking about.
I was wondering however, this thread seems more geared towards established spriests (lvl 70 ++ ). For us aspiring towards elite-hood, what is the most optimal way to approach lower level solo questing? So far, I've been only accepting green quests. When grinding, my sequence is:
PW: Fort
Then DoTing 4-5 npcs at a time with
SW:P
DP
And then Fearing. rinse and repeat til next group.
I was using MF and MB, but the xp/hour ran really low, as well as mana consumption / encouter.
Is there a more efficient way to solo quest as spriest? I understand that the class isn't necessarily designed for solo, but such are my circumstances thus far. (I do do a couple quests with a friend, but I feel bad imposing on him, since he is trying to prepare for ICC on his 80s)

Neese, Talon, Scaffold... Thank you all for your replies on this.
I have to side with Neese's original comment on this, getting a Pyroclasm buffed CoD is worth changing it position in the rotation. That just makes sense to me. Well that is of course it makes sense now that someone pointed it out to me (Neese). LOL.
As for being able to start DPS right away being a tank myself, in another life, I always give the tank a solid 5 count before I do anything. Letting them get aggro for a few seconds before I start my rotation doesn't have any affect on my DPS in a fight.
As for the replenishment, I just did a 5 man ToC to see what it was like without it and wow. I'm not usually micromanaging Life Tap, I know I should, but frankly I usually just life tap as I need to here and there I'm never really running out of mana at any point. Without replenishment, I had an oh shit moment in there where I was down to like 1K mana and hadn't even been paying attention to it.
I'm not used to having to watch my mana at all so your comment, Neese, on the usefulness of replenishment really hit home. I definitely saw what it was like having it versus not having it.
Thanks again to you all.

ArP, even at its strongest, isn't so good that you can ignore other stats. It's better to get 14 Agi and 10 (haste/crit) than it is to get 20 ArP, even when you're stacking ArP. Which is why you see the gem results you do.
Your current gear/gems puts you over the ArP cap, and when you're over the ArP cap you lose DPS from the ArP proc. So you get 100% value out of the BoV because of the rest of your gear, but only 80% or so out of the NES.
Unsolicited advice: you're over 150 points over the hit cap.

"my current gear, 5 10agi/10crit gems replaced with 5 20arp gems + DMC:G + NES = 7758dps"
Sorry, I failed when writing this one, what I actually did was to replace 5 arp gems with 5 agi/crit gems to get next to 722 arp with the NES.

I hope to lower my hit rating with new loot, I'll replace my boots enchant too, there isn't much more that I can do about it.

So that would make sense if there was something wrong with the proc otherwise in SC... And there was.
So what happened was, there was a bug fixed yesterday in SC's parsing of the NES. Change "needleencrusted_scorpion" to "needle_encrusted_scorpion" on the Simulate tab, and SC will recognize the trinket and generate its proc.
You were getting essentially 0 value from the NES proc. This will change all your testing with this trinket equipped.
