Spell power is better than haste for throughput, but not by much. With a typical overheal ratio of 30%, spell power then loses out and haste is a better throughput stat.
Crit loses even more from overheals than spell power does. (It makes up some of that loss with improved water shield and ancestral awakening.)
Blizzard's proposed change to reduce healing and incoming damage relative to tank health (potentially reducing overhealing) might change things up, but that won't be until Cataclysm.
As far as the healing meters go, are you sure you're looking at effective healing and not total healing including overheals? World of Logs is much better about that than recount; not only does it provide more accurate numbers, but it also treats discipline priests and valanyr owners more fairly, giving them credit for shield absorbs on the meter.
this was extremely helpful and exactly what I was looking for. THANK YOU
My question comes from compiling a gear set and noticing that you can get an insane amount of haste with Icecrown gear. My strategy in the gear set was to stack haste, get 10% hit, and avoid spiritHere is the gear set - which contains only 264 gear from normal ICC 25 and heroic ICC 10. Things will likely change with Arthas' loot table. Profiler - Wowhead
35.62% haste unbuffed, but with more haste from spellstone, Wrath of Air totem, heroism, eradication procs, etc, it would seem that you'd pretty much reach the GCD haste cap quite quickly. Any remedies to this situation aside from suboptimally subbing out haste?
Infinite dust is swarming across my AH, mostly in stacks of 1, to my despise, however it is still selling very well, and has maintained its value through the new mass heroic DE's.
I have been farming titanium/saronite ore for quite some time now. I'm not a huge "must max out gold" money maker, but I make out fine, and actually don't mind farming ore for an hour a day. It's pure profit. I take the route of simplicity: prospect all my ore, cut epic gems and sell, sell all the rare and common gems uncut. Titanium dust is still selling for 500+ a stack. My assumption is people buy the uncut gems to cut and resell or go the crafting+DE route, which is just too time consuming for myself.
Now if I can only figure out how to get these two botters out of wintergrasp, farming all the ore 24 hours a day, except when battles are going on and they head into Sholazar.
It depends how much hit of the Ashen Band you can use, of course. In a vacuum or under the assumption that most of won't be wasted, yes, it's superior.
I threw up the trinket section which I got a lot of PMs about. Not completely sure what exactly people were looking for, but hopefully that's it. I avoided giving specific EP values for each trinket as they do vary with your own personal gear. The uptimes are what is probably of most interest to most people.
At any rate, I can add more trinkets if such is desired, of course.
I need all the hit because then I can regem which gives me +40/20str and 20 crit.
Hamlet you need to make a resto Druid compendium for 3.3 (see priest Forums)
I'm so tired of going through all these useless posts.
Someone intelligent needs to revive these forums and keep them up to date. You get my vote.
After reading through the PvE Discussion Thread and this one, it is obvious that haste is extremely important. However, I have almost hit the haste soft cap, using 18/0/53 and CF. I have no mana issues, nor any problems with haste now. So am I doing the right thing by stacking pure SP?
I sit around in 2.7k (Tauren Form) Bonus Healing, and with the [Idol of Flaring Growth] procced in Tree Form I get around 3.1k Bonus Healing. In a 25 man raid, I get close to 4k Bonus Healing. Is there a point when this just becomes stupid? Should I be gemming for something else? I haven't really had the chance to do much 25man HC so I don't know how it compares to 10 man HC, but I can imagine there is alot more raid damage, and as a dudu, obviously that is my job ^^
So basically I am looking for some people experienced with TotGC25 to give me examples of their armory and how they generally Gem.
For timers I use droodfocus, nice clean display of bear specific cd's, seems to work fine and have survived all the patches
thanks for all the replies guys, I see my rotation was quite off
Yeah, changed the rotation priority up a bit, and maccro'd maul to mangle, lacerate and swipe. Using them in that priority order on cooldowns, up to 6-7k threat, thanks a bunch guys, back to the regularly scheduled discussion while I save up for my 2 peice T10 bonus, looks like that'll really help as well
i'm still doing fairly low dps in raids...
spell damage is 2763..
hit rating is 380
haste rating is 454(is that the problem?)
crit chance 24.52
i use the normal rotation, and i also have lifetap glyph that i use to get more spell power before a fight, but my dps in raids are still around 3-4k . do i need to get more haste? and if so how much?
The main problem there seems to be your rotation, since you should be easily capable of reaching the 6k mark (raid buffed) with those stats. Anyhow, could you please link your real character on your profile (not another answer)? Those stats don't match with those of the warlock on your profile right now.
Generally, you should try to get stats by the value, using (generally) this thumb rule:
1- Cap hit.
Red socket -> 23 SP
Yellow socket (with =>5 SP bonus) -> 12 spell 10 haste
Blue socket (with =>5 SP bonus) -> 12 spell 10 spirit
Otherwise, 23 SP is the way to go.
And keep check on the destruction thread to check any changes on relative stat values for us destruction warlocks; don't gem specifically for haste; that's generally a bad idea; keep geming (and gearing) as recommended from our stat value.
Edit: I fail at writing.
Edit2: Thanks for the correction Naforce.
Hi I am new to posting but I always come here for advise. Now i have questions/ issues. I have done a few calculations with the gear outa ICC to get as less haste as i can but no matter what i do im still far from where i want to be at. With 4p t10 cept legs due to I have cloth crafted legs ill still end up with 570 haste with the items i found to be BIS and this dosnt include the Upgraded Tier10 with would give me EVEN MORE haste. Now I want to know anyone at 570+ haste have issues or not cuz im just very worried this will effect my dps alot. Thx If there are issues the way im am geard atm id like some input even tho I think im doing very well.
We're going to be easily over the crit soft cap, reducing the value of further crit to be near the value of haste (or so the theorycrafters have said). So don't worry about your haste being a ways over soft cap.
Oddly, spirit is only going to look better in comparison to crit and haste than it has before, though still not quite as good. However, it does mean that a 277 crit/spirit or haste/spirit is going to be better than a 264 crit/haste, whereas at previous gear levels it wasn't always a clear choice.
