You have exactly 0 grasp over simple melee mechanics. Let me break it down for you using a fast and a slow weapon.

[Lionhead Slasher]
[Cudgel of the Damned]

LH has a DPS of 216
CotD has a DPS of 216

The DPS of each weapon is increased by the same amount no matter how much AP you gain. That is to say that your white damage with these two weapons will be literally identical in every conceivable circumstance.

As such, we then have to compare the effect the weapon will have on instant attacks before determining which one is better. Since the CotD has a much higher base damage than LH, you will have a much, much higher yellow hits with CotD than LH.

There is no way at all that a fast weapon could ever be even remotely close to the same quality as a slow weapon of similar ilevel. You are welcome to try and argue otherwise, but you will be wrong.

To know if that reply already has been made I'd first have to search trough 87 pages to see if someone had already asked it, or I'd use the search function and there could still be 40 topics about it and seeing how you actually gave a solution for the problem, people might want to know that too.

Before sending another infraction, this is infact useful info for asking to give a list of all stuff you're gonna update in all together. If this has been asked too, it's too much trouble to go look for it.

If you would bother to read more than just the last page, you would see that Ald knows about mistakes in gear stats, and has already fixed them for the next release. However, the next release has no ETA, other than "whenever Ald wants to put it out" (which I assume is going to be once LK is accessible). Until then, since Ald is the moderator or these forums, and since there are rules and regulations for posting in these forums, you should probably read through them carefully, less you want to get more infractions or even a ban.

One more thing I've noticed is that spreadsheets are assuming that you would be using deadly poison on off-hand. With the current deadly poison mechanic it doesn't matter which of your weapons has a deadly on once it's fully stacked, but wouldn't putting deadly on MH speed up the initial stacking of it?

From the FAQ:

Q: Which poisons should I use?
A: The answer is always Instant and Deadly; as a rule of thumb, Instant should always go on the slower weapon. For combat this always means your MH weapon; for Mutilate, it will mean your MH if your weapons are of different speeds. However, if you're Mutilating with two (fast) daggers of equal speed, DP MH and IP OH is slightly superior.

You want more DP procs, since that triggers your IP also, so you want that on the faster weapon. The only time your OH isn't going to be faster is if you're mutilate, and they're the same speed, which is a special case as mentioned.

Recently I was having a lot of thoughts about which way I should upgrade my char's gear for future and got some questions, I would like to see answered.

1) Isnt it better after reaching certain amount of crit gemming for Attack Power rather than Agility? Does benefit from crit diminishes the more crit you have?

I am currently running this character :The World of Warcraft Armory

So as u can see, my critrate is above 50%, making it raid buffed overall 62-64%.

My thinking was based on one thing, that with 137% bonus damage on crits as MM at some point I will get more benefit from raw AP than more crit and ap. Was thinking, that at some point, when i will be critting on most of my shots, more damage on all of my shots would provide me more DPS than additional crit in total. So there is a question. If there is a certain point at which the value for crit diminishes?

Another question is that, how much ArP will i need to get ArP capped with Needle-Encrusted Scorpion procs when soloing?
And how much will I need to get ArP capped with Needle-Encrusted Scorpion with a warrior tank keeping up sunders / and or Rogue doing expose armor respectively?

I believe it was mentioned a few pages back, but the only time you'd want to use DP on anything other than your OH, was if you were mut and both weapons were the same speed. The reasoning behind this is because both weapons are going to hit the same number of times, but the MH will also get extra procs from Envenom. In the case of combat, your OH will get much more attack in compared to your MH, and even with the extra procs from finishers, DP on your MH will not out DPS the standard IP/DP application.

Question

I am a DW frost tank of course doing good in heroics but last night I did Ony 25 and I was hit for 20k then 22k and then 14k in a matter of seconds dead is this normal also inspect my guy and see if there is anything I should change feed back appreciated

Im quite reluctant to try The World of Warcraft Armory spec , 3 sec fire nova's doesnt really seem to be a very good idea.Specially since i consider FN more aoe'ish . Anyways just wanted to know you guys opinion to see if its worth it to give it a try.

hi everyone i am a tree and have been raiding and trying to find out what are the best in slot items for trees since ICC came out. i have been searching in these posts for awhile and have become lost at certain points. so if someone could direct me to the page to go to that would be absolutely lovely. also in the loot table i have seen some cloth items that have stats that seems to be quiet good and was wondering if these are good items to roll on? my guild does allow me as a leather wearer to roll on cloth. if anyone could help me that woul dbe amazing and i would be much appreciated. ty all and sorry about my spelling and ponctuation.

I believe 19/52/0 is the widely accepted spec of choice now. If you are not sure what I mean by 19/52/0 you can check my armory, it is the spec I am currently running with.

Why are we saying gloves are the better non tier peice ?
Plaguebringer's Stained Pants let us get both the hit/haste and around ~20 spellpower more than woven death, maybe im missing something ? And then we can just run glove/helm/chest/shoulder for 4 peice


ps: this way we also don't have to craft anything so my money can be saved for /roll for 500 gold more

You're missing something-- the extra socket on woven death.

your guild does /roll O.o

so if we're not getting tier gloves which gloves are best? gunship gloves?

A few of the things I would do:

1) Ditch the block value gear for gear with more avoidance.
2) Up your expertise to at LEAST 27 (not rating but skill)
3) up your hit to at least 265 hit rating or 8%.

Also on ony if your having trouble getting hit really hard make sure to pull her back to the wall so you dont get knocked back. Also stay out of fire lol, if you find your self in the fire pop anti magic shield. with higher avoidance and high exp your should definately find your self not being parried nearly as much and with the higher hit you wont miss with your yellow attacks.

Of course all of this is just my opinion.
