Since Blood DKs focus on Strength and Armor Penetration, when it comes to sockets, should you split your sockets 50% in Strength and 50% in Armor Penetration? What is the best combination for increasing overall DPS?
If you do stat weighting it's pretty obvious to only compare same stat budgets, so saying Agi > ArP > AP shouldn't need any further clarifiaction. By the way, it seems the latest versions of the spreadsheets do value ArP over Crit and even over Agility for Surivial, at least in ICC-Gear.
This was basically my point. To compare on an itembudget level is to overcomplicate something, when a simple 1-1 comparison does just fine.
ArP is even over AP in some of the latter ToGC gearing.
Sustainability of a single-target rotation is possible with only Shamanistic Focus, and arguably not even that. Sustainability of an AOE rotation is significantly more difficult, and is the primary reason why people still take Elemental Focus; enough bosses these days have at least some AOE.
Casting AM as soon as MBarr procs is a big dps loss. Go with ABx4, MB or AB spam if you have the mana or during moments where you will do increased damage (ex. Icehowl when he hits wall). When you get 2 pc T10, ABx4, MB almost all the time will be your optimal rotation.
Save your Frost emblems for the robe. The T10 robe is quite good; pick up the T9 shoulders so you can keep your 4 pc T9 bonus. Try to make Bejeweled Wizard Bracers. You won't replace those for a very long time.
edit: Saizul was correct, I was mistyping Missile Barrage as Abarrage. Fixed.
My experience conflicts with this idea. I've tested the ABx4MB against the ABx?MB and total damage done changes little if at all and the second rotation is far more mana efficient. So, maybe the numbers in theorycrafting suggest one thing but in practice, I've found it doesn't play out as the math suggests. Just my 2cp.
Additionally, I spam AB until MB procs no matter what, using gem and mana pot when fishing deep and still have little or no mana issue. I believe that AB spam is the highest DPS (assuming no MB proc)... and people using ABx4MB rotation religiously would likely not have the mana pool to afford such a strategy/rotation.
I was also curious as to whether or not, dark pact is a viable pve talent
I had heard rumor that it was worth it but after using it in game I can't see
how it is better than life tap
In the new 3.3 Compendium thread there is a good explanation under 'Why Crit as 3rd stat in 56_00_15(compared to 55_00_16)?' Have a look there, should explain why very efficiently, and most other questions.
So whats the verdict on BiS trinkets? I've been having a hard time figuring out the best possible combo. I did manage to pick up [Whispering Fanged Skull] and I must say its a trinket worthy of BiS. That trinket literally proc's within the first or second damaging attack you do, and is up EVERY 30 seconds (15 sec duration, 45 sec internal).
There is also one trinket, that I really haven't seen much info about but would seem absolutely amazing, [Comet's Trail]. It really reminds me of a DST 2.0 (its roughly 22% haste), and from personal experience I know DST was absolutely amazing all throughout BC (I played a rogue through all my hardcore raiding days).
I have a question regarding the rotation under 2pc T10. I understand that rawr suggests the optimal rotation is to cast MBAM as soon as it procs, but I'm curious if this is because of DPM considerations or if it's truly the highest DPS rotation. It would seem a rotation where you save a new MBAM proc until after you have cast four hasted arc blasts (with decent gear and raid buffs, this should be rather easy to achieve) would be a higher DPS rotation?
I am currently leveling a paladin and have a question. I'm wielding [Corpsemaker], my two-handed axe skill is 159/165, and according the melee tab in the character info it says 'Damage: 197-246'. I find this very strange becuase my normal hits are far beneath that, even with buffs. I'm hitting ~130 white damage. Why do I hit so low?
Another thing I find very strange (and annoying) is the fact that I'm getting resisted, dodged, parried and whatnot obnoxiously many times. Why is this happening?
They both cost about the same on my server but i'm using Pure Mojo usually. Considering my goal is to DP as infrequently as possible, i'd expect Pure Mojo would give me the best return in the long run. Has anyone done the math on this to see when one out-regens the other?
I'm specifically curious about Anub25 HM, would Distilled Wisdom be better for P3?
It might be too late and I'm a bit drunk buuut....I remember in late TBC that daze efect could be applied on bosses. Meaning they weren't actually dazed but steady shot damage did got buffed cos of that and it's effect. Does it apply now? Do we have some daze effect on bosses from some other classes anyway? If we don't would 2/2 Concussive Barrage be a talent worth taking over RR or ISS?
Now, I feel with my stats and gear I should be pushing more then what I am, averaging** 6k on single target ICC (25) boss encounters.
I have noticed that many warriors have much more agility than me (always thought you want jsut strict STR and ArmP) , I never thought it made that much of a difference, I also notice that their deep wounds are typically higher up on their overall % of their damage(without having the two set bonus fyi), that and what about haste, How important is it? Should I even bother with it, and if so what % should I aim for? (I see around 6%?) Noticed the other fury* warr in our raids tend to get off more overall yellow dmg attacks, at least 10-15 overall, and that would make the difference. I keep the typical rotation pretty tight, with BT WW (bt,bt,ww, so on) keep up HS and Slam when it procs, (timing it so I can get BT and or WW off before I hit slam if need be) Is it the haste? and (or) the agility?
Thanks in advance, I appreciate the time to answer such dull questions.
