Looking at this thread 3.3 Compendium, i was wondering how my trinket setup would work between the different ICC fights. I currently have:
Illustration of the Dragon Soul
Nevermelting Ice Crystal
With the 56/0/15 build. I usually swap out the Ice crystal with Abyssal rune on those fights I'm not confident I can keep up corruption on the boss, such as Lady Deathwhisper and Deathbringer Saurfang. Do you think this is the right thing to do? or should I make a conscious effort to keep up corruption on the more chaotic fights and always use the Ice crystal?
I use Illustration of the Dragon Soul & Nevermelting Ice Crystal myself and I havn't much problem to keep it up. Those two bosses are my personal favorites because there are adds there to boost your affli dps, just keep empowered Corr on boss and then spread corr to the Lady melee adds and when Saurfang pops his adds, spread Corr to every add, use procs to refresh Corr on boss or if it's not needed use the procs to finish off the adds. Those are 2 encounters where affliction dps shines.
Also a question, I find it difficult myself to keep Corr up sometimes at Marrowgarr, has anyone tried IotDS + Abyssal/Crystal and can give feedback about the two different combos?
I switched my main to a holy paladin back in October or so. Up until then i had not played a healing class at all, and pretty much relied solely on numbers and debates discussed here for getting up to speed with a paladin's role in modern raiding. As such I went with popular opinion and use a Hl style of play. I briefly tried out FoL once i had an understanding of the class, but concluded it did not suit my group's needs as far as being able to effectively keep my tank up on certain fights / phases.
Anyways, I wanted to ask the community's opinion on this. Holy light has, of course, had enough throughput on its own for awhile now. While FoL keeps getting stronger with every gear upgrade we get. From what i can tell, upwards of 3500 SP unbuffed is reachable before arthas will even be released. So my question for the mathematically inclined... Will there be a reachable amount of SP before ICC hard mode gear, that would bring FoL in line, (maybe better? ) than HL?
Also, ( and i guess this is actually me debating myself :P ) ,with that same principle in mind. Does it not really matter? Since the avid HLer who's getting more mana / regen with that same gear, will be shooting for all haste gear and will be bringing HL's cast time down to FoL's level
I'd like to know your recommendation on the progress of upgrading of equipment, for I have some difficulty evaluating the correct path to take.
I have 5xT9 245 available, from which I use 4xT9 plus [Merlin's Robe] specced into affliction in fights that do not ask for burst damage.
Furthermore I have [Leggings of Woven Death] and [Gunship Captain's Mittens], which I use with 2xT9, head and shoulders, when specced into Destruction or Demonology when on raid buff duty.
Now with 155 [Emblem of Frost] available I could buy two T10 items, but I am unsure which combination would make the most sense.
I looted [Unidentifiable Organ] a couple of days ago, and after using it for a couple of days I must say I'm disappointed with the uptime. I haven't tried it much in ICC25 yet, except for 5 tries on Putricide where it dropped off constantly (although he stops to cast and stuff quite a lot). In 5-mans the buff drops off constantly, even when tanking multiple mobs. Does not stay up on 5-man bosses.
I think changing it so that spell damage makes it proc as well would make it slightly and probably more balanced compared to the other trinkets which give constant 220+ stamina.
I see that the forum shows the trinket as heroic, I obviously didn't get that one yet.
I have been a long time reader of these forums and have a quick question about swapping some talent points around in my Unholy spec. Currently I am running the cookie cutter 14/0/57 spec with reaping. Here is my armory: My armory.
I am fairly new to theorycrafting but i'm trying to learn.
My question is about swapping some points into morbidity for even more damage from death coil. I am wondering if it is worth while taking the last 2 points out of Dark Conviction as well as one point out of Dirge, and then going 3/3 morbidity for 15% more DC damage. Basically if 2% crit and 2.5 RP per SS is worth 15% more damage on an ability used 3-4 times per rotation. My thought is that at some point when AP gets high enough (maybe now) this option will become viable. I'm not sure about how to go about finding out what point that AP gets high enough to warrant the change i listed above.
Presumably then it's re-affirmed that the optimal opening order is indeed:
Pot/NMIC -> SB -> Haunt -> Corruption -> UA -> CoA -> Rotation
Based on both in-game and Simcraft findings.
This would take off 368 of the 920 crit rating if SB and Haunt were to crit, leaving your Corruption refreshes stuck at 552 instead of the full 920 gain. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. I'd say NMIC before you corruption or at least after your SB and Haunt.
I plugged them into my spreadsheet and says DBW+WFS would be the best combo but I know I shouldn't totally trust the spreadsheet. I just wanted a second opinion on which trinket would go best with DBW, Regular DC or WFS?
