As more and more wings of ICC open up and Emblems of Frost become more and more available, when would be a good time to purchase Libram of Three Truths?
Would it be wiser to save up for 4 pcs of T10 or just buy 2 pcs T10, the Libram, then the other 2 pcs?
4pt10 is @ 3.5-4% flat dps upgrade. Three Truths is only a 20 Str upgrade over Valiance, the difference of 1 cardinal ruby, with the obvious ramp up time issues. Personally the 4 set is my priority above all else at the moment.
Also, to Stryder's response of Valiance being better for target swap fights... You realistically have 2 options on swap fights when not using Three Truth's. Leave valiance on, seal swap to SoR (therein riding out the duration of the buff from the main target proc) kill the add, then seal swap back to SoV, hopefully fast enough for your 5 stack to not fall off the boss. If this is impossible because of rediculous amounts of switching or having to pick up slack from other players. A pvp libram with SoR/SoComm might be a better option. I believe all spreadsheets still currently list sealtwisting as a net dps loss, so use it sparingly, and be aware that your personal performance contributes a large portion towards it's effectiveness. If at all possible, ignore the adds and focus on the boss, some fights this may be impossible (heroic jaraxxus and anub come to mind) but realistically your raid shouldn't be asking you to swap targets every 10 seconds on farm content.
What are the chances of our tier set getting tweaked? Right now it has a heavy focus on agility which is among our worst stats (and will only get worse with more icc gear), a t8 like stat distribution would give us alot more ep per piece.
I was wondering if anyone has looked at the Dislodged Foreign Object trinket. Rawr is showing me that
its worth less than half of what the Spyglass is. However I believe there is an error and its not taking into
account the proc. It seems like this trinket should be way better than the Spyglass. Object has something
like 1k sp proc vs 200 sp proc on Spyglass, plus the Object has haste vs crit on Spyglass.
Ok, I will certainly try and keep corruption rolling on each fight. It certainly helps to have the boss on focus with focus dot timers so I can always see the time remaining on corruption.
As for Marrowgar, I don't usually have a problem on this fight as the bone spikes should go down fast enough for your dots not to drop off, plus during the bone storm I make use of nightfall procs and if he's not close I try and throw a haunt or shadow bolt. I also believe the initial cast of Drain Soul refreshes it, I haven't tested this but would simply casting drain soul then cancelling it be sufficient to refresh corruption?
Yes, but you should at least let it tick once, otherwise it's a dps loss.
What's better? 23 spell and no socket bonuses or 12 spell 10 spirit with spell socket bonus?
I can't figure out what spirits for but Rawr is telling me 12spell/10spirit is slightly more dps. There's the crit rating it translates (70% with molten armor glyph and 2piece t9) and the 50% mana regen from arcane meditation. But after 4 piece T10, you'll get less crit per spirit, and the haste will probably benefit more from having more spell. So which way to go?
Still learning to tank and am relatively new lvl 80...I know stamina and defense is what I should be shooting for but any suggestions on specific gear and weapons would be helpful. Also, is taunt the best way to keep aggro?
I have been hearing that Sigil of the Hanged Man with its increased ramp up time is not as good as sigil of the virulence because if the quick ramp up time for the proc..
From my testing is Hanged man is better for more or less the tank n spank fights where theres not alot of running around, say like Festergut or deathbringer, where as fights like Marrowgar or Lady death, Virulence would make the better choice.
Can anyone tell me there thought or opinions about this?
When we have enough frost badges to have our 5 piece and any trinkets or offspec gear we need, yes it will be optimal to have both and switch based on the fight mechanics. However, for the time being, 20 Str in 1/2 the fights is not worth the badges.
I'll be interested in seeing more numbers on the waterbolt macros, and perhaps exact text of the macros being used. I tried a preliminary test on the boss target dummy, 2 minutes with/without a /cast waterbolt macro, and saw no difference. However, I was running on a 1 second latency laptop at the time. I'll update this post with numbers from the proper machine when I get a chance to run it again later.
