Another thing to remember is that spell push back was changed when 3.0 came out, you can only be pushed back 2 twice per spell now. Most of the time DS is only being channeled for 15-20% of the duration of the fight and in most cases and ends up being 15-20% of your damage. The Added DPS again from not having DS pushed back, can't make up for the extra stats that you loose, which effect the majority you spells not just 1.

wow i think you're right... thank you for clearing that up for me i did honestly forget about the pushback twice per spell thing, haha
however i believe that suppression still makes it almost too easy now to become hit capped
as far as other stats that i could be gemming for in place of 3% hit (total) with gems i'm not sure that, that is still much of a dps gain ...
consider for example that 3% from the gems instead of being for hit rating went to say haste... a 3% haste increase doesn't sound like much to me but i can see as how it could be beneficial
haste however has something of an extended cap to it.. something like 50% or so because the GC can not be any shorter than 1 second if i recall correctly.
the only other option would be crit which imo if you are at 25% crit or about 30-33% crit you probably have enough crit or too much crit maybe and that could cause threat issues with a lousy tank or worse your pDPS would start to fall short because you would not be putting enough emphasis on spell damage prior to the original point of this post which was suppresion vs fel concentration
Sorry about kinda ranting on about that like i did, sometimes by thinking out loud like this it helps me figure things out.
Needless to say i respecced after this post.
