Re: Blue- Is NMIC crit rolling an exploit?

I don't think either haste not crit qualify as an "exploit." That word implies you are somehow abusing mechanics so bad that you risk some kind of punitive reaction on our part. Usually if we don't like how a class is working we'll just fix the mechanics and not blame players for it.

In any case, haste provided a huge damage boost and was hard to fix. Crit provides a moderate damage boost and is hard to fix. So we probably won't be changing the way rolling crit works any time soon. You can use it without fear of ramifications from us.

Thought I'd clear this up just in case anyone was worried.

You were right. I proved that through my analysis on the Shaman class mechanics forum. You can give it a read if you like.

Hello guys. I am currently playing resto and are comming to you guys after reading this site for just about every class i play.

A few weeks ago my guild leader and raidleader raged really bad at me for not performing well enough during a 10 man run. The reason for this was that i was trying spot healing other then chain heal spamming. Should obviously never have done that.

However, i was again a few days ago reminded that i might not finnish my trial due to the fact that i was not 'performing' good enough, the words he used whas 'You still look bad at the meters'

I would like to know if i really am performing bad, or are my officers just not known with this class?

What i usually do on bosses is shield tank of course, chain heal people that can link. And LHW people that cant link or need some focus. I usually lay under Paladin, priests and druids on the meters. I usually tell myself that meters cant determine a good healer.

Looking at those i see all of them having huge amount of overhealing, better safe then sorry i know. However i like to have control over my mana situation, and i therefore do not heal people with 100% health. I heal when nessesary. Or when told to focus someone becouse they are taking huge amounts of damage due to some debuff.

This makes my HPS lower, on the meters. But does this really make me a bad healer? Should i just say scew my mana, spam and go oom just to look good for the first 3 minutes on the meters?

Should i tell my officers that they are wrong, and what im doing is right?.

I hope i can get some answers, in case im right. Hopefully some documentation for my officers to see, so that i might be able to keep my membership.

Thanks, all help appreciated.

I've gone back through the last couple pages and didn't see anything, but has there been an announcement or anything concerning when the original post will get updated to reflect 3.3?

Blackwater Raiders
Saturday marked the 2nd GDKP run of Toc25 and ICC25 on Blackwater Raiders. It's an extremely casual server with only a handful of decently progressed guilds. That said, ToC has been a breeze, with impressive cash hauls from very casual raiders.

Week 1, after the success of ToC, the concensus was to attempt ICC, therein getting stopped at deathwhisper because of poor add management. This week, after news of the LDW nerf and slightly more organization, the pug managed up to putricide, now being more progressed than 90% of the 25man guilds on the server. To say it was a surprise would be a massive understatement. Everyone involved has only positive things to say about the system and the experience.

To those that say GDKP doesn't work on casual realms I would suggest that you give it a true effort, you may be very very surprised how bored people with money in welfare gear can rise to the occasion. Also, bringing home 4.7k gold and a pocket full of Frost Emblems wasn't bad either.

I get infractions for being right.

Wow

I am very impressed by all this, you clearly spent a lot of time working on it. I only had a chance to skim through it for now because I am about to go into 25 ICC with my guild however I am bookmarking it and coming back afterwords. Very, Very nice.

Festergut/Ice Block/Positioning/Mages

Not that my group was by any means pro or epic, but we started festergut with 3 healers and 2 tanks, and after getting festergut below 5% multiple times in a row decided to force the shaman to go elemental. However terrible the elemental shaman was, it was enough to boost our dps to kill him. My argument is this: if we kept 3 healers our 2 mages could have probably ice blocked through Festergut's Pungent Blight and gotten healed before hand, but perhaps not with 2 healers ( yes i am aware anyone reading this has better healers than we did)

also in regards to positioning with spores we simply had melee stack on the tank and ranged stack on each other, and when ranged got 2 spores, i would go to the ranged (i would love to hear any other suggestions, we ran [mage/mage/resto{elemental}shaman/hunter/warlock/shadow priest/prot pally/prot war/resto druid/holy pally])

T10 4 set

Does anyone know exactly how much of a dps upgrade the 4 set looks lo be? I'm not very good with math otherwise I would try to work it out myself. I know that some people are saying it is amazing, I just want to hear it from a source I know is very reliable.

Soft/Hard Caps

So it has been a long while since I have posted here and have a couple questions that anyone that may know could answer for me. First what is the soft/hard cap for Haste ( I have found conflicting numbers of around 3-400??) for MM Hunters and does it really matter since it has been my experience that it matters very little for MM. Second is there even an ArPen cap at present for MM Hunters and does it still scale dps exponentially in accordance with how much you stack?? I have found that since I went away from ArPen I now seem to do less dps than equally geared SV Hunters which did not used to be the case. Is it beneficial to stack some ArPen and even gem for it if need be to ~600-700 range?? Any clarification would be greatly appreciated.

Options?

It looks like this tool is not viable for a while. I know that someone is updating Rawr but by their own admission, it is still a ways off. Anyone know of a gear comparison tool out there for locks? Anything that is updated for 3.3 calculations would be appriciated.

Im currently using a hybrid unholy build (mix of AOE and Single Target) as I mainly do 10mans and heroics, my main question is what is better to use on boss fights? the standard rotation (I have reaping)

PS – IT – BS – BS – SS – DC – HoW
SS – DC – SS – SS – DC – (DC)

Should i try and squeeze in a pestilence to refresh my diseases or continue with the same rotation? refreshing diseases using the same rotation again?

PS – IT – BS – BS – SS – DC – HoW
SS – DC – SS – SS – DC – (DC)

My rotation at the moment possibly due to lag also (living in Australia = fail internet)

PS – IT – BS – BS – SS – DC – HoW
SS – DC – SS – Pestilence - BS

Am i seriously gimping my DPS by using Pestilence in a boss fight?

Many thanks

Apoc

Althor's Abacus

there seems to be a bit of confusion on the Althor's Abacus. I just picked it up and it seems pretty cool. It says "each time your spells heal a target" so does that mean we get a chance for it to proc every time one of our hots tick? if so then this trinket could be pretty amazing for druids right? I mean it would be constantly being used. No doubt it has a cool down to kind of limit how much it is used but still... seems perfect for druids.

I highly advise to work this out for yourself, as it's not the same for everyone. For me, the only two pieces that would warrant an increase due to itemisation are the head and shoulders. So i will be going for those.

If you're familiar with Simcraft, you can use the overrides tab to work out the values for the bonuses, then use an addon such as Rhadatip to calculate any increase/decrease using the set bonus values and stats.

Check the first post in the thread, at the very bottom, there is a table that lists the worth of all the set bonuses.

In short - it is very very worth it. The 2 piece T9 is also very good for fights where you multi dot a lot.
