Q: What professions should I use? A: Blacksmithing and Jewelcrafting are the best professions for cats. Alchemy provides the next best benefit. Engineering is arguably better than Alchemy as it provides not only Hyperspeed Accelerators and Frag Belts but it also gives you the extra movement from Nitro Boots. Tailoring is the next best. Leatherworking, Inscription, Enchanting tie for last place.
This is a great FAQ but I was wondering if you could tell us WHY you think these professions are most beneficial to us in this order?
would it be possible to have a short section added as a sort of benchmark list for prospective resto shamans following the posted hep recommendations for gemming and gearing to determine if they are on the right track of building their character?
For example, what would be a good goal for a pre-icc10/25/toc25 toon w/mostly T9, general 10man and badge gear in terms of haste, spellpower, MP5 during combat and total mana pool? Some other stages could be a fresh 80 shaman w/roics only or crafted gear (non-raid) and also a fully decked out shaman in heroic 10/25 icc/toc gear.
This would help b/c I don't believe that everyone is quite clear about the recommended stat levels. I am certain that ppl would say that it depends on how you play your shaman, etc, but a small list or table of 2-3 "stages" of gear w/the respective stats of each would be great.
In particular, I am concerned about haste since it is our priority stat, in relation to spellpower/mp5/mana pool.
Ran my first, to my knowledge the first (atleast widely known/advertised), GDKP run on Khadgar EU in Wrath. Started off with ToC 25 to spread the knowledge of the system, show it worked and get some support, will probably do another run there next weekened before trying ICC. It was a little slower than I thought, hoped to start at 19:00 server but due to a few no shows and some reluctance from a few people who expressed some interest from trade we weren't in and buffed until 19:30 at the earliest.
Other than that I made a few other mistakes, only one particularly bad one though, forgot ML for Beasts >.> Luckily all passed, so I needed everything and then auctioned using GRM, very useful addon, could not have done the run without it. Wasn't expecting a lot of money unless we got trinkets, maybe 10k for the run with ToC being fairly widely pugged now mainly from trophies and the few undergeared DK's I brought. Luckily we had a Reign of the Unliving drop!
Only 9 people bought items, one DK was buying for 2 characters though so really it was 10 and he/they ended up with 9 items for 4.4k. Trophies took the predictable route - .8k, 1k, 1.1k, 1.1k, 1.6k.
My advertisement post on Realm Forums a lot of it was pilfered from other threads linked from here so thanks to all who have gone before me!
My main source was from friends in other guilds spreading the word and /1 /2 /3 (Dalaran, Trade, LFG) advertisement using GRM again, blessed invaluable addon! Will definately be running more raids, read about it here last weekend, loved the concept and got the ball rolling.
On the subject of kinetic bombs, I hear talk you can put your pet on one full-time. I'm wondering, does it only attack the bomb when it gets near the ground, as if it were out of range when it's in the air? We seemed to have a problem if orbs got attacked too much, they'd hit the ceiling and blow up. If just putting your pet on an orb and forgetting about it for the duration works, I may have found fluffy a new job.
You can't kill the bombs, but they do despawn after 1m. There's a debuff ticking down you can watch. After the 1m is up a new bomb will spawn elsewhere in the room.
Can you equip both Organs at the same time? I was under the impression that Blizzard had made normal and heroic versions of ICC trinks, rings and 1H weapons exclusive to each other.
Regardless, at 71% reduction from armour going to the cap still mitigates by just under 14% over normal damage taken (using our handy friend the 50k hit: 12500/14500 = 0.862), so if that's the most we can get under normal circumstances then I'd say UA was a fair use of a talent point. We're at the point where diminishing returns kick in rapidly, though, so much higher and UA wouldn't be worth it.
Yes you can equip both organs, same dealio as the scarabs
On Putricide fight, when the player turns into the abomination, it shows up as a boarded vehicle in my healbot bars that cannot be healed. I'm trying to get help on the Curse forums under Healbot's addon page but since I'm having the problem, I'm hoping others might as well. Any help? Levitree, Alliance, US Nerzhul
I still find there to be an error about armour penetration calculation. Would love any other input about this from someone as currently the spreadsheet does not give the results it would do if followed by GC's post on the formula.
whereas the actual formula should be made from TargetLevel and not your own level (Level_Selected). Thus it currently counts the armour constant as for a lvl 80 mob and not lvl 83 for example which is what bosses would have for you at 80.
I highly doubt that you would get an accurate DPS calc if you set that (Level_Selected through the overview tab) to 83.
