I have noticed a few arcane mages that are beating me in dps in a few raids have very simular gear but they have all thier sockets with some sort of spell haste gem instead of spell power. I was just curious if anyone else has noticed mages gemmed for spell haste doing more dps than those gemmed for spell power as arcane?

I'm quite new to wow and I'm a mage. Lev 80 from 2 weeks. All the time I'm told that arcane makes more DPS then frost and that I should respec. That's why I made arcane spec exactly as described in first post of this thread.

Problem
My frost spec is 3000 DPS on dummy and my arcane 1100 DPS. Help me to find why is that and what I'm doing wrong please.

my frost rotation: buff myself, summon and buff water element, icy veins, mirror image, spam frost bolt till the end of mana
my arcane rotation: buff myself, icy veins, mirror image, arcane power, arcane barrage x3-4, arcane missiles, presence of mind when ready

Try Arcane Blast 4x, then Arcane Missiles. Use Arcane Barrage only while moving.

At around the 3k spell power mark, haste starts to overtake spell power as the highest dps stat. Obviously gems are potentially only a very small part of why they're beating you in dps.

Tried ABx4 it's a bit higher but still around 1100 DPS. If arcane is better then frost I should be able to reach 3000+

They should've done that 2 Months ago. We just lost 155 badges and have to pick up 3 (or 4 if you wanted to keep Broken Ram Skull Greathelm) additional pieces of gear because of this change.

4/5 with Pillars of Might will now be the preferred gear setup. That obviously sets everyone who made good gear decisions back a lot and I hope they will do something about it.

I never thought they would change something that affects so many of us this late into the patch.

I noticed that neither skinning nor mining is not included in either feral FAQ under the professions list. Both are slightly useful to one spec and totally useless to the other, but they should be at least briefly mentioned if only to discard them.

It might also be useful to mention profession choices for ferals who perform both roles (such as the common "I tank 10s and cat 25s")

Ok i have around 770 haste rating my lb is at a 1.6sec cast without trinkets but i have a problem with pulling more dps i pull around 8k on trash but when it comes to lets say marrow im lucky to pull 6-7k.

why could this be this is my rotation FS> LvB>CL>LB>LB>LB till LvB is up i always keep FS up and only use CL when my rotation starts over now im thinkin maybe its how i reapply the FS and mess up rotation

There is nothing wrong with having that much haste, or more, if you can sustain it efficiently in your raids. Haste is the best throughput stat for HL based paladins.

Improved Devotion Aura shares the same +6% healing done modifier as a Resto Druid's Tree of Life.

Mk first time posting, just wanted to ask a few questions and see what other people came up with.

When does SP (or even crit) overtake a better stat value for arcane? point for point (Given your over 3000sp)

Right now the "Soft cap" is 814 with [nether pressence/(Ret/boom aura)/WoA totem/2T10] "4 near constant buffs" Hero/ and IV
(excluding Haste pot and Black magic proc, due to planning around not having them up during IV)

Obviously this is 20 secs out of a possible 10 minute or so fight that your actually GCD cap, so obviously it's fine to stack a bit more haste.

My question i want debated is there a time between being capped by the Previous method.

to

being capped at 4 constant buffs + hero (you pop IV/potion of speed during non Hero.)
[1630 doubt it's possible to obtain]

Where SP takes over a better stat value then Haste?

Or even at what point you drop Black magic for 63 SP to weapon?(my guess is 1380)

Or at what point do you stop popping IV during hero?

I recently started playing my warrior again. This is my armory link: The World of Warcraft Armory - Pheroth @ Cenarion Circle - Profile. I'm currently reworking everything to optimize my dps. I've had trouble finding anything to go in-depth about the things I'm concerned with. I"m not sure where to go with gemming, enchanting is pretty much a given. And also about what our better stats are and also a good solid dps spec. Please let me know if someone can give me some advice on this.
