They don't hate elemental shamans, they are just incompetent. It was foreseen that a buff was needed, and is simply explained by our bad scaling compared to the other classes. What makes the community angry is just that they wait until the last minute to buff us, while it's been month the problem is known.

So, I am posting this here because I am unable to make my own thread. I was looking over numbers and I am quite close to crit cap and was thinking maybe I should regem for haste or str? I am not gemming for arm pen til i can reach hard cap as I can currently reach soft cap with gear alone. any opinions?

Your math is wrong Korskarn, you are currently doing 103% damage, not 100%. So, it's;
(18000/103)*106=18524.27 aka 524 extra damage.

Nonetheless, we aren't nearly as gimped as people claim we are, I'm consistently in the top5 on fights that dont require excessive movement or heavy aoe (4/5 fights in Crusader's Coliseum and even Icecrown has a lot of those). You can improve your dps quite a bit by planning ahead; this includes good fire elemental timing and talking to your raid leaders to be allowed to stand in melee range when appropriate (festergut and marrowgar come to mind).

I agree that things could be better and "quality of life" could be higher with more options while moving, but I'm pretty sure we can better fixes faster with realistic opinions, rather than "you hate us" complaints.
Sorry but blizzard arent happy with lot of thinks and what they do ? Nothink. If blizz do some changes with this stat it isnt in this content, maybe in Cata. We have a good 4T9 bonus and blizz know it, then when they introduced our 4T10 it must be funny for all ele shams, i think that this is the reason why our set is revealed at last. And when i hope that they boost our 4T10, what will they do ? Nerfed 4T9. Sorry but this is piece of shit.

I looking to your guild forum but dont see wws or wol because on this fight our mages do 8-10k dps and this is somethink of with my ele can only dream. Maybe it problem in me, cannot use fire totems because havent demo lock, but dont think that this do 1-2k dps on boss fights.

Ofc that my qq havent matters, but waiting havent it to. Waiting for somethink last couple of months...

One question Ive always had about the opening rotation is that since SE and ISB both are debuffs on the mob they are applied retroactively to dots already up. So what is the actual DPS benefit from applying this debuffs first instead of casting higher DPCT spells first.

Ive personally been trying to work through the math on this one but alas I cannot fathom a good way of calculating this definitively without issues I can foresee. This will become more pronounced as SE stacks 3 times, as in whats the actual calculations to determine the different in damage provided in the first 15 seconds of combat. Any ideas on how to start the math for this?

Read the thread. This was discussed at length in the past few pages.

I suppose if the tier10 chest doesn't gain expertise I might still be happier with the offset chest.

Right now I have a few pieces of ICC gear, and my t9 2set bonus (soon my t10 set bonus). I feel that I should be pulling more DPS than I am following the AEspamABAM standard mage rotation.

Disc gemming: Pure Int vs. Int + MP5

I have about 27.5k mana unbuffed without Int trinket, such as [Talisman of Resurgence], and I sometimes go oom even with Shadowfiend.
In my raid, Replenishment - Spell - World of Warcraft is not guaranteed, I will say, it is 50/50 to have one.

I want to stack more SP, but since I am having oom issue, I need to gem more Int and MP5.
My question is,

On yellow socket, should I socket Pure Int or Int + MP5?
On red one, SP + Int or SP + MP5?

I think you misunderstand me. The earlier post stated that the diference is minimal beftween getting coruption up once ISB is up vs after ISB and after SE stacks. Im trying to mathematically show the different of getting corruption up before 3 stacks of SE as they do act retro actively. From what Ive seen Ive yet to see the math on the corruption before SE versus corruption post SE as far as openers goes.

Those are 2 encounters where affliction dps shines.

Also a question, I find it difficult myself to keep Corr up sometimes at Marrowgarr, has anyone tried IotDS + Abyssal/Crystal and can give feedback about the two different combos?
You should have no problem keeping up corruption on marrowgar, use good portal positioning if you really have issues here. As far as Saurfang, you just tab corruption all the adds for constant eradication/NF procs and you'll be able to roll corr on main target very easily. I usually apply all three dots to an add on Deathwhisper and then cast a shadowbolt/Haunt on Deathwhisper herself, repeat for each remaining add.

Hey guys,

I don't know if this has been tested or mentioned here but what do you guys think of:

3/15/53

Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft

This build is mainly for somebody that has the T10 2p bonus and without the 2P T9 bonus. Ideally, it's for anyone that will have 4P T10. It's basically a modified version of the "Serpent Sting" build (0/18/53) that people have with the 2P T9 bonus. And instead of using the Serpent Sting glyph, it uses Glyph of the Hawk. Oddly enough, the change in glyphs for the spreadsheet shows this as an increase in DPS, while femaledwarf shows it as a decrease... If anybody can clear that up for me, that would be great.

I know, this build isn't the "Best Possible DPS" build which is apparently 6/14/51. But neither was the popular 0/15/56. This build will at least have all the main Surv talents and replenishment for 10mans and what not.

YMMV but please try entering this into the spreadsheet and tell me what you think.

Should a "sometimes" emergency bigger heal overwrite a consistent pushback reduction? I have not noticed a lot of pushback in ICC except for trash before the second boss. Then again, maybe there's a lot and I just have not noticed due to higher haste.

Here's another thought, how about have both by removing 3 out of elemental weapons?

What is your opinion?
This has been addressed a few times in this thread, so I won't over complicate things with a lengthy explanation that you can easily look for. In short: Healing Way outshines Elemental Weapons at high levels of spellpower (because Elemental Weapons does NOT scale with increased spellpower). If you want to reduce your pushback, which I have noticed a lot more of in ICC, spec out of Elemental Weapons and pick up Healing Focus.

Or have two Resto specs - one with Healing Focus and one with Elemental Weapons.
