I want to stack more SP, but since I am having oom issue, I need to gem more Int and MP5.
To answer your question: INT & SP + INT.
However, I would have to disagree with your premise that re-gemming is the most viable solution. It very well may be, but I would first check the following:
1. Degree of Overhealing (and what can be done to reduce it.)
2. Optimize regen via Rapture.
3. Popping Hymn of Hope right after Shadowfiend.
4. Utilizing Innervate and Hymn of Hope from other raid members.
5. Reduce overall healing stress via better execution ("Get out of the fire, people!")
For what it's worth, try to remember to log in your PvE gear set (for PvE-related questions). Sometimes folks may notice something and make a suggestion that you had not considered.
I like the flexibility that AB234MB give me over AB4MB. While AB4MB is better dps it's not by much and the dpm is a lot worse (dependent on your MB proc luck) than 234MB. Hasted evo is great unless you get hit by damage or need to suddenly move. The fights in the later parts of ICC are more dynamic than the first half with the exception of Fester.
I think if you can squeeze in hasted evos or evos during downtime that's great. But I haven't found much downtime except during Putricide, when you may need to stop dps to prevent a phase change.
First, thank you very munch Shandara for your fantastic work on the DPS spreadsheet for hunter
Can you help for this little problem ?
When I use the the "Gear planner" function I obtain very strange and fake results ...
Instead of "Gear" and DPS calculation (11580 DPS) function which works perfectly ...
For your information, today I use T9 and T10 bonus.
My hunter is Kahewin, also found on Be Imba.
Thanks for your help
I have a question about gearing [Discipline Tank Healer]. I recently power leveled a Priest, and I am very close to 80. I decided to pick up full Tier-9 as well as the staff from Heroic Pit of Saron. I'll likely pick up both rings with Triumph emblems and buy the Frost badge cape.
However, I leveled this character using recruit-a-friend (recruited an IRL friend) and therefore I do not have much gold or time to level professions. I am also on a different realm than my level 80 characters (bad idea). I'm planning on sell two Primordial Saronite to pay for gemming and profession power leveling once I'm 80.
Thus, my questions are:
1. Which professions would be most advantageous to my throughput? Currently I have 300ish Enchanting and ~50 Tailoring. I'm not planning on dropping enchanting, so which profession would be the best for my throughput and fit inside my budget (which I'm estimating at about 3k).
2. Where can I pick up some throughput trinkets? I know there is a really nice one from Frost, but due to the money situation I probably won't be able to pick it up for a while. In the meantime, are there easily obtainable + Spellpower trinkets available?
3. Gemming. Once again I've checked the threads and I know I should be gemming Spellpower. However, the T9/T10 gear has a lot of great socket bonuses that you only lose 3 or 4 spellpower by socketing in a hybrid gem (+12 SP +10 Random stat). I'm looking at gemming Red +23 SP, Blue (when socket bonus is viable) +12 SP +10 Spirit, and Yellow +12 SP +10 Crit. Are these safe choices?
4. Glyphs. Using Penance, Flash Heal, and Glyph of PW:S. Minor are Fortitude, Shadow Protection, and Levitate (for fun!). Safe choices?
i got a minor question, i've been trying to read up these topics but can't seem to find the right answer. im debating between my gears. i just got vengeful noose, but i dropped my hit rating to 178 which is below cap. im stuck at this part because im not sure if i should gem hit to get it back up, or change bloodfang hood with mask of lethal intent brought from triumph vendors, so i can raise my hit up to around 252. heres my armory if it helps The World of Warcraft Armory - Purple @ Daggerspine - Profile any comments would be helpful
Ahem, our guild had several attempts on Anub'Arak 25H earlier today and I was trying out the new and flashy Flamestrike-spam "-rotation", which yielded some promising data.
Here, a WoL log of the wipefest. I applied Living Bomb on all the four adds as per usual and then just started spamming my macro of FS8+5xFS9, sometimes reapplying LB on an add or two since they seemed to be going down really slow this time. My raidbuffed FS cast time was something close to 1.4sec and I was playing standard 18/53 TTW/Fire.
Comparing my own dps in relation to our resident op unholy dk, Academos, it looked pretty amazing. Pre 3.3 I had usually been significantly behind him while playing an Anub-specific FFB. This time I was, when I didn't screw up targetting or something else, really close or sometimes even right on top of him. Granted their dps took a hit in the patch but still.
Personally, I don't even bother with flamestrike anymore. With my 2pc T10 I'd just LB 4, if I had a pyro before I'd hurl it at anub, then cast blizz until dead. With my procs (trinks/bm), I think it makes more sense than weaving in flamestrike.
Regarding the FS8/9, I'm at a complete loss at what to think about it. I can't see you beating another mage using conventional aoe rotations.
We don't raid on Tuesday's so haven't had a chance to test it out properly but here's my initial findings (after 5 mins stood in Dalaran healing myself).
The HoT is just called Chain Heal and isn't distinguishable from your direct CH heals on recount.
The HoT stacks with itself. If I crit myself once and leave that HoT to roll off, it ticks for 900 or so. If I carry on casting and refresh the HoT before it falls off, the healing ticks increase. Critting whilst the HoT is up refreshes the timer back to 9 secs.
The highest I got the hot was 2700 per tick which is basically 3 hots rolling at once. So it doesn't look if we never let the hot drop off it get's exponentially larger. It seems that the game is actually recording each crit as a seperate HoT but just displaying one 'Chain Heal' buff combining all HoTs you have rolling. This may be obvious to some but thought I'd share!
I'm pleasantly surprised anyway, I feared that a new HoT would replace the old one so good news I reckon.
(Numbers are totally unbuffed without earthliving on the weapon. Didn't want that to confuse matters)
I searched this thread as well as the Cat DPS Guide for Dummies, but neither seems to cover this topic. I recently hit the crit cap, while being stuck with the ArP Softcap. Without a trinket, I'm stuck sitting on 735 Rating, and with Crit Cap, Agi is becoming less valuable to me. This leaves me with the choice of gemming STR or Haste. STR clearly gives more point for point as shown in the DPS Guide, but I've recently taken a huge hit in my passive haste (25% down to 13% and soon 10%) so should I just drop a few pure 20 haste gems in to balance me out til I can get a DBW and Hard Cap?
Again, I searched for my answer and have not found it, hopefully this post won't end up in the dung heap. Gemming for pure haste feels wrong, but at the same time so does STR.
You're also hit and expertise capped then? If you are, then the best bet is to go for strength.
Though honestly if I were in your shoes I'd either go for agi or arpen depending on whether or not you're trying for the hard cap. Probably hard cap. While arpen post trinket/softcap isn't ideal, it's not that bad - and on some fights it can be very good.
Yes I forgot to mention I'm hit and expertise capped. My plan is to pickup DBW as soon as possible and drop Mjol, thus replacing the majority of my gems with ArP and sitting somewhere around 1100 ArP Passive instead of 735. In the event though I get the bracers from Saurfang before the trinket, then I'm stuck wondering what to gem.
I'm a tankadin, and currently wondering about two trinket choices. At the moment, I have [The Black Heart], but I'm considering to replace it with [Purified Onyxia Blood Talisman] due to the increased mitigation. I can't make up my mind though, since I don't know if it's worth sacrificing almost 1500hp for the mitigation increase.
