hi there, long time reader - first time poster... i hope i dont get banned :o)
so i dont know if its mentioned anywhere, or if i just missed it in this thread.
our guild is just using 2 tanks in icc25 for the council. 1 for keleseth and 1 for the other 2.
if you are the demolock for your guild or just having fun by playing this specc, you can easily trigger decimation by hitting the non-active prince with a sb or incinerate, so you can do high dps by having the execute phase for yourself, nearly the entire fight.
I am not sure if there is a haste cap, and if it is reachable. If you use Rawr you can see when to use haste over other stats.
The reason is basically that crit and agi gets worse and worse because you reach or overcrit the white hit crit cap and the FB crit cap (almost at the same time imho). At that point, Hit and Exp become worth it very much, as well as haste and str. Before that There are only rare occasions where 10agi/10haste (or 10str/10haste) are worth it in yellow sockets if you can take 6agi with you.
The reason haste esp. is good a.) OCC procs and b.) your Arpen, if your Arpen gets higher and higher, your white hits do more damage too (and they do lots of damage), thus haste scales your arpen value up.
in the first ~ 20-30 seconds with BW, RF, Potion of Speed, Bloodlust and Trinketprocs. After all this runs out you're going to kite the Oozes anyway.
This I find incredibly hard to believe. If BM could pull 16k with these procs they should be able to sustain much higher DPS than other MM hunters since even MM hunters cap out at 12-13k during their cooldown stacking. Lets see a log.
First off I'd like to thank you for making this thread, it wasn't much fun having to jump between 3-5 threads to find all the 3.3 crafting! As far as ES glyph goes, has anyone done any testing to see at point it becomes better to glyph for SS? Fully 25man raid buffed I have 75% crit, and on the average boss fight my ES crits 90% of the time. I'm going to do some testing when I get off work today and I need to redo my spec now that I got rid of my T9 2-piece. I'm going to fool around with a couple different specs to see which one maximizes my dps with my current gear.
99% of the time our healing team is composed of two Holy Paladins, a Holy Priest, a Resto Druid, and a Resto Shaman.
Since you are the Priest its pretty easy... Go disc!
Its way op right now and there is only one fight were holy should do more hps. And that is Queen where you should end up around ~12k with +80% renew. While disc goes around 9k. But still a shield before is better then a heal after a death. So basically bury Holy till cataclysm hits.
I am finally getting my lock up to par with gear and my DPS still is very low for the gear IMO. I am .06% under the 17% hit cap (not spec for 3% in the affliction tree) haste is now at 520, SP with Fel Armor base is 2800, 581 Spirit, and crit is 26.6%.
I just re-gemmed for Haste and picked up about little over 100 (with new off hand from HOR), and my DPS range on single target boss can go from 4k up to 6.5k. This really does seem low for the gear I have and experience with my other toons and those in my guild. I guess I expected at least a consistant 5k on single target, but it is just all over the board.
Rotation is LT, Imm, CoE, Conflag, Chaos, Incinerate till Conflag is back up, Conflag, incinerate, Immolate, Chaos.
Any Ideas, as I am lost and couple of the locks in my guild are having similar issues (though they are geared better then me)
You are using Arcane Shot. Take it out of your rotation and your spec.
I took it out of my rotation during some testing, on the armory I'm shown as having it, but on the spreadsheet while I was playing around and doing tests I removed it from my spec.
Here's the spec I was playing around with: Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft
I noticed around a 150dps increase, but imho that doesn't seem worth respeccing and spending roughly 3.6k on red gems for.
And also I took herkumi war token as this basically provides me with a constant 340AP vs a boss, most of the time (dependant on fight) I'm shooting enough to keep it at 20 stacks so it's a pretty nice thing to have. Of course if the fight has parts where the boss becomes unattackable e.g. professor putricide then the stacks tend to fall off, but it's a matter of seconds before they're back up. I found this to be a DPS increase over the mirror of truth as the proc was a little low for my liking. However, I don't actually have the mirror anymore so I'm unable to do real world testing with it, the spreadsheet shows that it's far less dps than the war token, but that's assuming a tank n spank stand still fight. Perhaps it might be worth looking into.
I'll help with this last question. There are 3 set pieces itemized with haste/crit (helm, shoulders, chest), and two itemized with crit/mp5 (hands, gloves). I found that the shoulders and helm were the best use of Emblems for me, especially since the 251 chest is subpar with only two sockets.
All the tier pieces excluding helm have one less socket than offset gear in the same slots. Helm is a definite buy; shoulders or chest is a good second choice.
I just completed my 4 piece T10 (2*264 2*251) and have to say i'm completely distraut over the magnitude of the 4 piece bonus. On training dummy, it accounts for only 1% ONE PERCENT of total damage. This is after giving up the 2p T9 with critting moonfire which gave about 3-4% extra damage overall. T10 4p Lasherweave Regalia - Item Set - World of Warcraft puts a 4 sec dot on the target for every crit, which is almost always refreshed ... seems to be refreshed with lesser wrath crits over starfire ones (50% lesss damage). You'd think it was a 7% damage increase, but if it's constantly refreshed (let's say every 2 sec for starfire or 1 sec for wrath. it's really only max 1.75-3% (rough estimate). Add to that the refreshing with lesser wrath crits over starfire and it's even less.
breakdown from training dummy:
Starfire 620.6K (42.8%) (72% of them crit)
Wrath 583.5K (40.2%) (45.3% of them crit)
IS 123.8K (8.5%)
MF 105.6K (7.5)
Languish 14.9K (1.0%) (only 51 ticks!)
14.9 K / 51 = 292 damage per tick on average
(that's 292/12400= 2.3% of one average SF or 292/7800=3.7% of one average wrath)
that's totally broken! at best it should stack cumulatively on the target or put a seperate languish on target for every crit landed. as is, it's useless.
this is from depleting entire mana pool on heroic target (without innervate). Looking at my spec, i see that i cna go from 1/5 Genesis to 5/5 Genesis to maximise the effect, but it's totally not worth it to get +4% on 1% damage.
what to do!? going to do this again and upload to worldoflogs or something ot show you.
Quick question- I basically have 3 "boost" buttons I can use on a raid boss. Icy veins, Arcane Power, and Mirror Image. On any given boss I normally throw all 3 at the beginning and then refresh as necessary if it lasts that long. I don't really factor in Bloodlust timing at all. Does it matter when or how you use these abilities? I'm curious to hear opinions, thanks.
