Hi all, my first thread!

I have read so much with respect to DW tanking, imp, I LOVE frost DW tanking. i dun have the best gears but am DW with 02 x Bonebreaker Scepter.
both with different runes.

I personally do not stack stam, but a nice balance of Stamina/Avoidance/Max Hit; and I do not believe that a tank with more HP is better. DK tanking is about knowing what to use, when to use it. DW Frost with Lichborne, UA, IBF and AMShell simply rocks.
Just LEARN all the fights and things will go smoothly.

One more thing, the only problem I find with TPS is that we can never beat Pallys and Warriors on threat scale. not sure why.

By the way, if ppl say that your self buffed HP of 36k health is insufficient for tanking ICC10/25; I say, find a better group to tank for!

DK Tanking ROCKS!

PS. One more thing to all new DW Frost DK Tanks, do NOT forget that you can DEATH STRIKE

not sure if this is a bug in the mutilate spreadsheet or anything but after inputting all of my gear/gems and whatnot, i'll change the gems to the "Recommended" gems from the spreadsheet (which, oddly enough, seems to be all Haste). After doing so, everything changes back to AP gems in the recommended column... not sure what to think about that, anyone else have the issue?

This has been covered before, but changing any gems or gear causes subtle shifts in the EP value of all stats. which can in turn change the recommendation for gems. In general, you'll want some sort of equilibrium between haste and AP if you're specced mutilate.

Hi all.

Tomorrow I will have enough to get Tier 10 head, giving me the 2 set bonus. I will also have the ashen verdict honored strength ring and have 251 gloves with expertise and hit from ICC. Just wondering if I will then have enough gear to switch across to the reaping build and gain dps?

My profile is: http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sh...oldt&cn=Saelie

Thanks

Best Professions?

Just curious if LW/Eng is the BiS profession setup?

Shammyjake, read the OP. This is not Ensidia that selects the 'best' DPS professions but the average gains from professions.

To be fair, the 'best' professions would probably be Eng/JC. Then again, I do not think that we are looking at that here in this thread.

Is anyone else using 2 piece T9 coupled with 2 piece T10 until the 4 piece set bonus proc is fixed ?

Aside from those things I would consider it a big waste of talent points so far.
I guess it really depends on your raid and strats. I find hawk eye to help out quite a bit for dpsing slimes when fighting Putricide and kinetic orbs when fighting Princess Council.

Our dps is low on slimes so it seems to help get a decent jump on dps based on how we position the raid and hunters are assigned to orbs on Council. I find it very helpul when you either get knocked back or have to run accross the room to get an orb.

Expertise question

I have fairly decent gear on my toon and I've been running through DK Optimize and Rawr to find out what I should swap out when I get my 4piece T10, which should be this week. I'm currently running the unholy spec 14.0.57.

My question is this:

Most of the sims I've run have me using 4pT10, I'm hit capped, but my expertise falls down to about 9 (it's 17 now). This is way below the cap. Should I hold off on using the 4piece until I can get some other items to increase my exp or just take the plunge and snack on some exp food?

Hawkeye can definitely be a "nice to have", especially when you're in the early stages of your raid's learning curve for a fight.

from what I've seen though, there are no fights currently where you need to position that far away, and once you get more comfortable with the fights, you'll be able to position yourself to greater effect (replacing the nice to have hawkeye with better movement/positioning)

eg: slimes on putricide - you can position yourself on the edges of the inner circle.. and have both slime locations in range without hawkeye, this can be such a stand and burn fight for hunters that you'll be able to take advantage of any points you put into more direct dps talents.

eg: Blood Prince orbs - in 10m, there are only ever 2 orbs, so your pet can keep one off the floor, and you can keep the other off. This makes it much easier to stay within range of one (while still keeping the dps up on the kill target).. just put your pet on the furthest one (and watch for when he comes running back as then you'll want to start looking for the new orb). In 25m, I believe there are 4 orbs? your raid can either keep you twitching (and probably dying due to running through the centre), or you can have 2 people assigned to orbs.. again.. hawkeye can help while you're getting used to the fight, and getting used to the teamwork (ie: sorting out who's tagging which orb), but once you do, you will be easily able to manage without hawkeye.

i was just wondering if someone could possibly make a list including trinkets, rings and enchants with all the correct id numbers, ICDs etc to help ( ive seen different IDs here to some ive seen on throttbot ;o ).

Also i noticed that avenging wrath, divine plea etc are in built into the addon would Burghy perhaps consider adding the ashen ring, deaths verdict etc into the addon aswell?

Hi AJ I've got 2 questions:
Recently got heroic Solace - Shall i use double Solace or the 128int one from badges + heroic Solace?
And shall I go for the 2 piece t10 bonus even if its 251 so that i can plea regardless of tankdamage with wings + 2 piece bonus or shall i use the 264 offpieces?

While it's not the direction of this thread I'm surprised there hasn't been a tangent reaching on the best race(one sided for alliance)/professions. The very idea of Elitist Jerks is for the ultimate min/max stats available and if that's not accounted for[somewhere] you're doing an injustice to the name.

After reading numerous posting I'm thinking my expertise is too low.

Typically in short bursts I can keep up my fellow paladin tank, but on several of the ICC bosses I have to constantly retaunt to stay close to the top. Should I require hunters to misdirect to me to compensate?

Here is my link if you guys have any thoughts.

Thanks for the help.

Not to back seat moderate, but the forum rules really says more-or-less where the 'jerks' comes from.

Yes, having a BiS for each race / profession and combination thereof would be excellent...except it would be nearly too much work to maintain accurately. Pissing matches, so to speak, would probably bog down actual work done in thread and not-to-mention those whom would pay, re-roll and otherwise spend more time not obtaining BiS but race and profession.

Again, read the OP which narrows the focus of this thread so we can work out a baseline amount of DPS that BiS gear should be able to do rather than start debating about what may be better in whichever circumstances. Suggestions: start another thread with which ever particulars as the focus of the thread.
