Dislodged foreign object from Rotface inn ICC + Reign of the dead from Anub in Coloseum...

Now if you can stack the heroic version of dislodged as you can with reign of dead then 2xdislodged is best. If not heroic dislodged + heroic reign of the dead. Until you can access heroic rotface it's dislodged + heroic reign of the dead.

It's important to understand that the stats you gain by dropping expertise will cause you to deal more overall damage over a long enough period of combat. As a general guideline, you should always use STR food over EXP food, even if you have 0 expertise from gear. While you are missing attacks, the attacks that you do land are hitting harder, thereby negating the damage loss from the dodges.

The same thing applies here - expertise is not a worthwhile stat to obtain, as the other stats will give you an overall damage increase. You should never be socketing expertise, STR or STR/crit STR/hit gems, depending on your gear. If your expertise is at 0 from gear, so let it be.

Anyone else disappointed that the 25 man LK dagger is mis-itemized (ArP) and slow? A similar argument can be applied to the axe (no ArP) but ... at least there other classes can use the thing, who may benefit about as much from ArP as a mutilate rogue. Having the BiS mutilate dagger combo both possessing ArP seems like poor work on Blizzard's part.

If i am not mistaken, and correct me if i am. I believe there was a blue post a while back saying that the normal and heroic versions of trinkets would not stack like the normal and heroic version of [Reign of the Dead].

IMO its looking like bis trinkets are going to be the heroic versions of [Dislodged Foreign Object] and [Reign of the Dead]

I'm horriblely over the hit cap and I really need to get it down and get more Agi. I have re-gemmed, enchanted, and everything but I still find myself over the hit cap. My hit is at 450. The thing is that my Agi is really lacking, It's about at 41% and it should be around 50% or higher. I've replaced all of my AP enchants with Agi, all of my AP gems with Agi, and I'm stuck at 41%. Also almost every piece of my gear has Hit raiting on it. So what my question is: What can I do to lower my hit rating and get my Agi up more. If anybody can help this would be greatfully appreciated.

Hi, yesterday on a discussion I heard that crit have diminishing return, but I never heard something like that...

I seached a bit and I read that isn't crit that have diminishing return but damage on critical increase: ex.

For a more extreme example
35% crit to 40% crit is 5/135 = 3.7% increase in DPS
40% crit to 45% crit is 5/140 = 3.6% increase in DPS
45% crit to 50% crit is 5/145 = 3.45% increase in DPS
50% crit to 55% crit is 5/150 = 3.33% increase in DPS

Ok now applying to a paladin what's the truth?

p.s: I'm aware of melee crit cap (71.2%)

I just returned to the game after a long break, and I have a question that I would normally answer with a spreadsheet except all my gear is too old to be in the spreadsheets. I hope this is simple enough to warrant posting here without getting in trouble.

As I'm gearing up, I have gotten a couple of new weapons, and I'm somewhat struggling with how to use them because I don't have a good "set" of weapons yet for any one spec. I recently picked up a Nighttime and Blood Weeper from HFoS. I don't have a good (fast) offhand dagger or axe/sword yet. So my weapon/spec choices are:

MH: Nighttime, OH:Blood Weeper, Spec: Combat Axe/Sword
MH: Blood Weeper, OH: Librarian's Paper Cutter, Spec: Mutilate
MH: Kel'Thuzad's Reach, OH: Blood Weeper, Spec: Combat CQC

I'm currently using the third option only because I need to level axe skill before I can use the Nighttime. But my question is:

- Is it better in the near term to use an off-spec, slow, but higher DPS offhand (e.g. Blood Weeper in a combat axe spec) or to try to stay within a spec (e.g. mutilate with LPC or CQC with KT's reach) using one weapon that is several tiers lower?

My gut tells me that I'll do more damage (probably much more) using both ilvl 232 weapons, regardless of spec/speed mismatch, but I'd appreciate advice to either confirm or contradict.

A lot of leather/mail items are currently BiS, if you go this route be sure to the the closest plate item as well because leather/mail will become useless with cataclysm patch.

As well be nice to your Rogue/Druid/Shaman/Hunters guildies, let them have priority on leather and mail items. We can wear plate, they can't.

I'm glad I didn't spend any badges or bid on any of the BiS expertise items since the 2H sword off the Lich King may give us better options for our neck and cloak choice.

I can see us replacing Lana'thel's Chain of Flagellation with Sindragosa's Cruel Claw as our neck. For cloaks Might of the Ocean Serpent can be replaced with Recovered Scarlet Onslaught Cape.

The only problem I can see right now is that we are already or are going to be crit capped, which will diminish the value of agility of these replacements, making the STR on the original pieces valued higher.

I can't wait for an updated sheet as I'm sure alot of us are still on the fence about the value of 4pcT10.

What is the point of making a BiS with no restrictions, when you restrict yourself?
The intention of this thread is to make the best possible lists taking into account the corresponding restrictions, not to argue about the fact if it makes sense to roll on leather/mail gear. That is why there are multiple lists.
I always pass for the hunter/rogue/etc. needing the stuff; in this case however, it is strictly about a list with BiS without restrictions regarding items...
Altogether, I simply asked IF it was better, not claiming that it was absolutely undoubtedly superior.

[edit: also, if Blizz didn't want pallies to even think about rolling on the polearm, they could have given it very easily a 2.8 speed or something similar; I daresay they are very well aware of what the present itemization of the polearm (and gear in general) means for retribution in particular]

Wouldn't be a little damage increase starting off with a Blood Strike? Because it's 5% more damage from Desolation.

Not only diseases, but white damage, BCB/Necrosis procs and maybe even Bryntroll-and-alike?

IE:
BS PS IT BS SS DC (DC|HoW)....?

Same goes for AoE (where the gain would be even greater):

BS PS IT Pest RT D&D DC (DC)?

I don't have the time nor the tools to do sims, but could anyone take a look on it?

I have a question about the 2 piece for tier 10. Is it better to complete the 4 ABlasts then use your Arcane missle proc or use your Arcane Missle proc whenever it comes up maybe even doing the AMissles at x2 or x3? In a perfect world is it better to have 12% haste 100% of the time or having it drop for 1-2 casts.

Your plagues would tick for more initially, but you would be really delayed in getting them up there since you aren't range casting IT first or getting EP up for the rest of the raid to benefit.

which would be the BIS for us druids that don't get to do 25 man heroic but can still get 10 man heroic?
and BIS trinkets would be [Muradin's Spyglass] with [Phylactery of the Nameless Lich] or does 258 reign beat out the spyglass

and for folks doing heroic 25 [Phylactery of the Nameless Lich] with [Phylactery of the Nameless Lich]
sound about right?
