There is lots and lots of hit rating on ret gear at the tier 9 level; so much, that somehow I'm spell hitcapped (horrible, I know)

while I attempt to lose around 200 hit rating, does my FCFS change due to exorcism/cons never missing?

Seeing as we don't have a PvP thread for Warriors anymore (why?) I'm gonna ask this question here. Regarding the 10% healing reduction nerf, has anyone noticed if it affects blood craze as well?

tiny will proc seal so im thinking that maby tiny is good for pvp also.

or the dc.greathness is still better?

Rotation Macro

I am looking for a simple macro to help out my dps, giving the latency ofcourse. Looking for a MM rotation macro which includes all specials for MM spec.


Any ideas?

A couple of simple questions:

Is the haunt buff applied when the spellcast is finished or when the animation (green blob) hits the target?

Does dark pact trigger your gcd?

Haunt will apply the debuff(s) when it deals damage ie: when the animation reaches the target.

And yes DP will trigger a gcd just as LT does. If it would not I guess it would clearly outperform LT in any situation.

On Dreamwalker, I'll add that Deterrence deflects the fire nova (name?) that the Blazing Skeletons do. Although you'd almost always do better to finish it off quicker.

what am I doing wrong?

Hello all,

I've been using your forums to educate myself on how to best play my toon for probably near two years now. I just recently returned to WoW and I think something is wrong...

I'm using suggested Mutilate spec (I havent used swords yet this time around because the daggers I have are substantially better than the swords I have).

when combat begins I get about 2 combo points and hit SnD
if there is no one else putting up bleeds I get 1 combo point and rupture
I start HfB
Mutilate to 4+ combo points
Envenom

I then repeat Mutilating to 4+ and envenoming

If HfB drops I get it right back up
If SnD drops (I dont let it, I'll envenom on 1 combo point rather then have to snd again) I get it right back up

I use my cooldowns (engineering stuff, my trinket, and cold blood) whenever they are up unless saving for a certain part of a boss fight.

In 5 man heroics I'm only doing about 2.2k to 2.6k DPS

I have good enchants
I have gemmed according to ej posts
I have my expertise "capped" according to the rogue pocket guide
I have my hit rating semi-"capped" at 318
Additional gem slots used for Atk Pwr and AGI (I went by EP weights)
I always stand behind the target if possible....



I know rogues are a little underpowered right now... but it seems like every other DPS class is able to make more DPS then I can, with less effort, less gear, and a LOT less research.


PS- I havent done a spreadsheet since coming back because my gear is too old to be on the new ones and I havent had the time to manually input all my items yet.


Thanks guys, I avoid nubby questions as best as I can but this is really hurting me. Maybe people are just lying, but a rogue I talked to on my server yesterday told me he is doing near 5k dps with the same spec and his gear score was almost identical to mine... and this guy didnt even know there IS an expertise cap... and didnt know what the hit caps are...........


Also while I have you on the line.... can anyone direct me to a good up to date thread about pvp'ing with a rogue? I'm thinking about finally trying the arena thing this coming season but I dont have any idea where to begin (besides getting PvP gear lol).

-You can't use Swords as Muti spec since Mutilation requires Dagger.

-Noone else is needed for bleed effect on your target. At least not at the start cause your opening shot should be Garrote anyway...

-If HfB drops you get it right back up? Correct should be: I don't allow HfB to drop and I refresh it before it drops.


EDIT: I checked your gear a bit and I believe you should do a bit more DPS but it certainly needs alot of work... Epic gems missing, some enchants are wrong etc...

Anyway, what I noticed in HC's recently is: The better the group is - The worse our DPS is.
If you're in a party where other 2 DPS are 4-5k each then you basically don't have any time to even benefit from things like DP proc-ing as IP and you might find yourself losing 4-5cps on target due to fast kills... If you're unlucky ofc.

Try entering a random and at start gearcheck dps.
If they do lousy 1,5k dps each you should have more than enough time to get into rotation and show your real dps.

So, don't be alarmed. Muti isn't high-burst damage spec anyway. =)

Real DPS comes on Raid boss'.

adding more crit does not decrease the value of crit. lets say move A does 1 damage and never crits. I use A 100 times so i do 100 damage. Now lets say i get 10% crit. If i use A 100 time 90 hits will be hits and 10 crit, so 90 +20 or 110. Now lets say i have 50 crit. 50 hits will be hits 50 will be crits so 50 +100 or 150. As this shows 10% crit gives me 10 more damage and 50% crit gives me 50 more damage.
DLDR crit does not change depending on how much you have
