Hello, my name is Jiman from Lothar. Here is some backround for my situation. (tldr answer at bottom).

I am decently geared at the moment with 4 set t10, bunch of 264 mostly 251 gear. I also have Reign and Spyglass.

I normally top damage, depending on the fight, movement and circumstances of course.

On a fight where i stand still and switch targets (Deathbringer Saurfang) my dps goes between 9.4-9.9k dps.

On a more movement fight, Professor Putricide, I do alot less of course, between 7.2k and 7.8k dps.

About 4/5 of the time i have a decent mana pool at the end of the fight, and i keep at the normal 4ab/mb rotation..

I checked the relative stats on Rawr and it says (with 5 second movement every 45 seconds) that there is a .29 dps increase if i gained 1 more haste.. with unlimited mana. This is on a 5 minute fight.. so i assume this could take into consideration for having mana at the end of the fight.

So my Question Is should i Gem 20 Haste gems, 12sp/10 haste or continue with normal stacking with SP and SP Haste for bonus's??

My first and last question about the Ashen Verdict ring, I promise.

Most of us know that Agi scales very nicely for ret paladins, and I agree that it's currently BiS, after taking the Str one for a test run to see for myself, and I didn't just want to follow blindly. It actually resulted in about 100dps less than a previous attempt with the non-exalted Agi ring. Could have just been circumstances to be honest, but it was enough to persuade me. Hence I will be getting the Agi version again tonight when we raid.

I am not fully ICC geared yet, but am in the possession of 4 or so normal BiS items. Our guild has managed to get up to Festergut 25 man twice now, and this is where I compared the DPS output. (We're a social raiding guild)

Now, my question is, 4.0 brings changes to Agi. Will it seem viable to switch it for the Str one then? Or should we just stick to that one until we can get better?

Why do you put 30 hit on gems on that BiS mutilate ? Just keep stacking haste isnt better ?

Another question, my rogue is mut and im wondering to change all my gems to haste and ap/haste on RED (im full AP gems right now). Is it a dps increase ? Or stacking haste is good just with BiS or heroic tier equips?

I just got my first two T10 pieces, and combined it with 2PC T9 (245), this changes the rotation quite a bit, and I want to know, my DS resets quite a lot, but due to that I am having some troubles deciding what to use as the next ability?

Let's say I use (just when the fight starts, no HoW to think about yet):

JoW > DS > CS > Cons > Exorcism

This is what happens:

Before I can get to Cons, DS resets. Sometimes twice. Which ability should I use then? I always try to use CS as it comes off CD because of the seals, but it's not always off CD, neither is JoW. Should I just use DS as it resets above other spells/attacks?

It likely won't be 4.0 that you switch to STR items. Likely the large patch prior to Cataclysm where the new itemization philosophy kicks in. That's when all that AGI loses a lot of its shine for us.

If my math is correct haste has to point for point be worth 15% more for you than spellpower for 20 haste to be better than 23spw. In RAWR, load your profile for raid and check "Relative stat values" which will show the worth of spw and haste which should be pretty close to eachother (haste surely not or even never? 15% higher than SPW). 12spw+haste if the socketbonus is haste/spw is always better than 23spw.

Use RAWR, it's your friend as it will show you the best value and socketing. Rawr

4.0.? will likely come out before Cataclysm launches. 3.0.9 (the last patch of Burning Crusade) gave us the achievement system, 51 pt talents, inscription profession and a number of other features to play with before Wrath went live.

When that happens, the strength ring will be superior. I personally made the switch already, since I believe the strength ring is better for protribution pvp.

Spreadsheet > Rotation priority will tell you what's the correct answer to that question, if I remember correctly the damage of slam has a higher base, so if you have bloodsurge you should continue using slams. Execute simply becomes something to fill out where you are standing around spamming HS and autoattack, thus it will increase your dps, but it still is not more valuable than your other abilities.

At least I think it was that way, would be nice if anyone could confirm it. Great, I answered a question with another question for my first post. ;<

Thinking of giving the str ring another try tonight and see how it performs. If it still results in lover DPS, I'll switch it until we need to switch

1 ExpertiseRating = 0.0305% reduction in dodge & parry chance
32.79 ExpertiseRating = 1% reduction in dodge & parry chance

Cap vs Level 80 mob = 5%(Dodge) / ?%(Parry) = 163.95 / ? ExpertiseRating
Cap vs Level 81 mob = 5.5%(Dodge) / ?%(Parry) = 180.345 / ? ExpertiseRating
Cap vs Level 82 mob = 6%(Dodge) / ?%(Parry) = 196.74 / ? ExpertiseRating
Cap vs Level 83 mob = 6.5%(Dodge) / 15%(Parry) = 213.135 / 491.85 ExpertiseRating (Raid Bosses)

The 10 Expertise we get from Primal Precision is equivalent to 81.975 ExpertiseRating so subtract that from the above figures if you have that talent.

dodge is referred to as softcap and parry as hardcap.

Was just wondering if there was any post comparing both mutilate and combat spec. Have been doing tests ingame and using some of the of the spreadsheets but so far i cant figure out which is better dps. Is there a certain gear level at which one spec outways the other or any other varying factors. Wasnt really sure where to post this but i hope someone can direct me to a post.

I'd suggest binding push to talk to a spare mouse button. Works nicely for me.

thanks for the work on this mavanas, will keep an eye on this since i guess it will change again because bliz are changing the stats on LK loot i.e. haste for arp on lk bow.
