While it is a DPS gain to cast unhastened AM to reduce mana cost, Abarr is still an invaluable talent to pick up due to movement. Many ICC fights are high movement and yes, you can pew pew and fish for AB stacks, but if your stacks are about to drop and you're in fire, YOU BEST MOVE! And so in this scenario Abarr is amazingly useful. Allowing your stacks to drop without an Abarr is a much larger loss than using Abarr. (duh?) However as I said above, if you have PoM off cooldown, using PoM to maintain stacks and DPS while you move is a much better alternative.

So I've been playing my rogue for awhile now. Back when the 3.3 patch first came out, I kept my old Mutilate spec for the first day. I did some rockin' DPS. Then I switched to the recomended Mutilate spec from this site. And after some research on here, it appeared everything i was doing was wrong. I had the wrong gems, enchants, and spec. Could I have messed up THAT bad? No. After making all the tweaks that were EJ suggested, my DPS dropped a solid 2k. I tried it out for the last 2 months. I never did DPS like i used to. So today I switched back to the "old" spec. The one with 5/5 Reletnless Strikes, 2/2 Opportunity, and NO points in Lightning Reflexes. My DPS rose back up 2k. Moral of the story: Don't believe everytihng you read until you test it yourself.

hey all u hunters out there!

im a reasonably active raiding survival hunter currently gettign towards the end of ICC25. my gear isnt the best of the best but its getting up there! using the femaledwarf.com spreadsheets ive plugged in my gear and no matter how i gem or spec into marks i cant seem to get any dps increase so ive stuck to surv. im proud to say if im not in the top 5 dps in any of the fights in icc25 ive died... anyway my reason for posting is im currently looking at any ways to boost my dps!

currently im a skinner / leatherworker - is there any number values floating around for dps increases per profession? (ps this might b covered somewhere int he previous 130 pages of posts... but its a lot to read through at once)

So I guess I keep seeing this debated over and over depending on the site I goto, and I even see you guys where just discussing it, but I have yet to see a definative answer.

As Fury, should I be gemming for Str or ArP? I have around 45% ArP right now and am working on getting that trinket out of H FoS so I'll be pretty close to softcap, but then every time I see another Fury warrior they just have nothing but +20 Str gems. So it confuses me a lot. I'm pretty much the only warrior in my guild and no one else seems to be able to give me a real answer. Thanks in advance

Feature request (I think):

My 9 month absence has left me with severely outdated gear - but I have a lot of it having picked up off set pieces in naxx for progressions and preperation for having to break my hit (or whatever else) and compensating.
That got me started thinking about how to best mix and match what I have and using the spreadsheet to do so.

However..

When I use the spreadsheet one item at a time I sometimes end up with having to switch back in the end because another piece of gear I have - and I got to thinking that it would be beneficial for top end raiders as well.

With my (admittedly very limited) knowledge of Excel programming, it doesn't strike me as a big programming job (of course it stil has to be done, regardless of how big or small it is) but my feature request is something like this;

A checksheet where you can check off what gear you have and an option on the gear planner to only use that gear for calculations - like the overrides in the settings tab.
As it is, you can indeed do this manually by mentally filtering out gear you don't have, but seeing as the calculations change everytime you change a piece of gear it would be very timesaving if the spreadsheet could do the calculations off a limited set of gear.

I don't know if the calculations in the gearplanner are useable, but it seems to me that they do the calculations needed already although maybe a seperate tab for showing these calculations (call it my gear or whatever seems appropriate) would be better?

Does block value increase block rating (or vise versa) or is it strictly based on points that you can get depending on your gear?

Further, and on a different topic, does agility give you more pure avoidance, or does defense rating? I recall reading something about it on these forums, but I can't seem to find it again. Basically, I'm wondering whether +22 agility or +16 defense value would we a better choice for a cloak enchant. Agility adds to your TPS I believe where defense doesn't, but threat isn't really a problem at this point, I'm more intrested in keeping my healers bored, and I can't figure out which one is going to be better for me defense wise.

You have 6% hit from talents. So at most you need 11% hit (289 hit), if you also have a shadow priest and/or boomkin, the hit requirement is only 210 or so. Your armory says you have 400+ hit, you need to shed a lot of the hit and get rid of those gems.
