Hi, this is my first post.

i've a short question. What Spec do u think is most usefull on the Lich King 25 encounter(normal)?
I tried 18/53/0 and 57/3/11 and i'am not sure whether of those is most usefull. Fire is obviously the stronger DPS but is it better then arcane in order to successfully kill Arthas?

Hello.

I know that there is a lot of BiS gear, heroic or even not heroic. But since I'm in a casual riding guild I'm looking for some other ways to improve my dps (basicly because BiS gear is not available for me).

I'm sitting on ~1060 arp atm, but after getting 4xt10 I'm considering dropping all of my arp gems and going for agility. Why?

1) Greater Blessing of Kings + Survival of the Fittest + Improved Mark of the Wild = total 18% stats bonus (am I right here?)

2) Every kind of damage that you do is buffed by crit, arp doesn't affect Rip and Rake.

3) Crit damage is even better for kitkats - Predatory Instincts - 10% extra crit damage.

4) Hard cap on arp is beyond my reach.

Right now I have 1012 haste and with raid buffs I'm at a point where I can fit two mind flays and 1 gcd in essentially perfect timing with the 5.5 sec. mind blast cooldown (what basically works out to slightly above 38% with buffs to compensate for latency), is it still really worth getting more until I get 4 piece 10 since it will mainly just force me to have milliseconds of downtime (even though it will obviously affect dots) or is it better to go no higher... yet. I apologize if this was answered somewhere, but I didn't see anything regarding it.

I would like to just state my opinion on this thread. Having a current BiS thread is nice, but all anyone in this thread cares about is that when you have BiS everything, what gems are the best, what pieces are the best, and stats are the best, and what aren't the best. This, in my opinion, is completely useless. None of us are there yet, and none of us will have best in slot everything for quite some time. A discussion on current gear, what is better, what isn't. enhsim is a great program, but is it really that serious as to have everyone sitting there all day combining different specs, gems, enchants, and gear to figure out what will be the best to have, for pieces they probably will never have?

No problems without a solution....

This thread should be more dedicated to current gear, what you think works better, what stats work better in comparison to other stat mixes. Enhsim can do that, too. Just for some reason, no one posts it. I'm sure this is way out of line, lots of people will get mad, but whatever. Thanks for reading my post.

I have read on these forums that as a Mutilate Rogue my *Money Stat* is Haste.
I also understand that there is No cap for haste atm. The benifit of haste decreases as you add more like a deminishing return correct?

My question is, when does getting more haste gear become not worth it? (badly worded i know...) Is there a *Soft Cap* where its not worth getting anymore?

... That's exactly what the rawr optimizer is for. A thread for your current gear is 100% uselss, since, SURPRISE! Everyone has different gear. This is the list of what to shoot for.

Ok so long time troll, first post but here goes. There are 2 viable ilvl 245 tanking helms that can be picked up with 75 Triumph Emblems, and 1 requires a Primordial Saronite (add 23 Frost Emblems since I don't have the 2.2k needed to buy one on my server). Both have roughly similar stats except for 1 crucial area that I've heard endless debate about since the release of ICC.

The first [Faceplate of the Honorbound] has a little bit more dodge (approx. 0.87%) and expertise, but has significantly less STR (which I've come to understand that we don't necessarily care about).

The second is the T9.5 [Turalyon's Faceguard of Triumph] which requires the Primordial Saronite. The big thing I notice on this is the 210 to block value, and I would get to keep my set bonus even after replacing my hands which are next. When combined with the ilvl 226 [Libram of the Sacred Shield] would put my block rating through the roof since Holy Shield is IMO the biggest survivability aspect (due to the awesome mana regen) of the 969 rotation and is ALWAYS up when I'm tanking.

Now having said all that, the question is this: with the -20% to Dodge walking in the door to ICC would it be better to spend the extra Frost Emblems and get the T9.5 while at the same time switching to a lower Libram, than keeping the Libram i have now [Libram of Defiance]which boosts my dodge while getting a helm that would further increase my dodge rating?

Anyone having issues with Springy Arachnoweave? The SP bonus isn't being applied to the cloak spot when I equip it. I even tried changing the Haste enchant to be 27 SP and then applying that, but no luck.

Alhassani, Turalyon's helm does not require a primordial saronite. Instead it requires a trophy of the crusade (can you buy these for prim saronites now?) which are obtained in 25-man ToC. And that's only for the ilevel 245 one. The ilevel232 one can be bought for just badges.

Tank gearing questions are always extremely subjective based on your role, how your raid handles encounters, your personal preferences, etc. So the answer is: it depends. Generally speaking, block value is great against trash and adds, but not so great against bosses because they hit so hard. Avoidance has taken a significant hit to its value in ICC, but its still better than block (which is also hurt by the Icecrown radiance). IMO, the t9 helm is great if you need something quickly and don't expect to pick up the t10 helm soon OR if you expect to be tanking a lot of adds/trash in which case the extra block value is great and if it gives you 2 piece t9 the -2 seconds on HoR cooldown is superb for picking up loose adds (like on Valithria).

Similar story on the librams. Sacred Shield is great against lots of adds, while the dodge one is better against bosses (and the +str one is best for threat). Pick your gear based on what you'll be doing in raids. I'd also suggest reading the first post in this thread. It covers some of these subjects. Whatever you do, don't blow your frost emblems on saronites unless you really need the crafted gear or the money for some reason. There are some spectacular items to be had.
