From what I remember it was mentioned at Blizzcon that the racial abilities of existing races would be re-done (to bring them more in line with Goblin/Worgen) when cataclysm comes out so I guess we'll have to wait and see. Although for now, an extra silence/mana gain and an additional chance for spells to miss you seems to outweigh an extra 5% base HP and a cast-time stun. Granted that Tauren has 8 Str more at the cost of 6 agility it's not really worth fretting about until the new racials are known, and even then .. Holy cows? Yes please!

Now i havent had the opportunity to see what the numbers are with the new LK weps since they dont appear in rawr yet but im assuming its better than Dying Light (277).
Regardless of the LK wep my rawr is still showing 14740.91 DPS and thats with Dying Light so ill assume for arguments sake that this figure will only increase with the better wep.

What do you guys think? this is my first attempt at looking into this sort of thing so im sure its not perfect, I would be really interested to see what more experienced theorycrafters have to say about it.

Im new to the forum and i apologize if i post this question wrong

I am at moment going mutilate with Gouge of the Frigid Heart / Stygian Bladebreaker.

I have just got my hands on Scourgeborne Waraxe and have the possibility to buy Quel'Delar, Cunning of the Shadows for combat main hand.

I have done spreadsheet for gemming my gear combat (arpen + needle encrusted scorpion) and mutilate (ap ap/haste).

The outcome is almost exactly the same dps for both spec (same armour but different gems).

My question is, is it on ur opinion worth buy Quel'Delar, Cunning of the Shadows to go combat, both in the way of max dps outcome and most viable in ICC raids.

Hope this question fits in this thread and some have time to coment.

Renew and PoM? It's generally been this way for me since Gruul. Just saying. Welcome to the party, though.

Just a quick update from my end: so I've decided that 2p T9 was mostly overheal (I haven't lost any healing power since dropping it), and I've decided to forgo all set bonuses until further notice. As I posted a couple weeks ago, the 4p T10 would be an HPS loss for me on heavy aoe fights, however, there were a couple of fights since I posted that the bonus would be great on, like Sindragosa. Probably still won't use it, but your mileage may vary.

I think I'll be OK wearing all of the non-set pieces, except for the legs. I think the legs are basically BIS for me since they are the only spirit/haste legs available. I'm not opposed to getting the crit/haste stuff, but I'll let the dps get those pieces first. I'll probably end up with the crit/haste boots, pants, and wand, and see where that gets me. 750/450 haste/crit would be a nice place.

So yeah. I will continue my trend of never collecting a full set of gear. Carry on.

Base stats and racial abilities will be redone for 4.0. Currently, each race has a little bit more strength or agility, however in 4.0 it will be the same stats per race/class, except some races no matter the class will have more stamina. Racial are planned to change so that Goblins are not by far the best race.

Sorry, it confused me a bit in the wording of the actual talent. It is misleading.
It says "Your maces ignore 3/6/9/12/15% of your opponents armor" which led me to believe it behaved like sunder, which in turn would make it a large DPS increase to people at high amounts of ArP already.

Quick question. In the mutilate spec are the two points in Subtlety meant to be in relentless strikes? It seems like 2 in opportunity would be the better option. I'm new to rogues, and World of Warcraft, and Elitist Jerks, so I'm all ears.

Both spreadsheets model both talents, you're welcome to move the talent points to see what the difference is. In general, 2/5 Relentless Strikes results in higher DPS than 2/2 opportunity.

I recently got Catastrophe (TotGC25 tribute weapon) and I'm wondering how best to balance my expertise. For now I've chosen to replace the SoV glyph with exorcism as with the former I'm drowning in expertise. I'm aiming for the belt from Valithrea 25, so it is a temporary fix. Is there some other glyph that would work better?

We had 5 shards from 11 bosses on normal mode. Maybe we can get some more results, to get a closer approximation on the actual droprate? 25%-49% is rather vague ...

crit soft

I was wondering if there is still a soft cap for crit? If there is what is it and what should I stack and gem after I reach the cap? Armor pen? Attack power? Int maby? It sounds weird but hunters still get 100% int to attack power. I am asking because I remember reading some thing about their being a cap for crit. I have been reading the past few days tying to find some thing on it but could not. If some one could help me I would be greatful.

This whole AoE dmg with 15/54/2 is what im confused about.. there arent any AoE fights in ICC besides the lich king fight.

So im still wondering/asking why are some of you using that "AoE" spec over single target?..

If you use this spec and believe it's better than the 0/53/18 spec.. TELL ME YOUR OPINION on WHY....................

Hi fellow hunters! First of all I want to apologize if my questions has already been answered (and some of them has been for sure) but the information you provide on this forum is HUGE. I tried my best serching the forums, but I still have some questions left. And most of them are "personal" so please forgvie me if my attention missed something. I hope my questions will worth answering to.

1st.a Here is my armory profile: The World of Warcraft Armory - Steelsilver @ Bloodscalp - Profile
I don't put rare gems under ilvl251 items so that's why I have still some rare gems left. With this gear I reached the level, where I do more dmg with MM then with Survival. My question is that with armor penetration will my dmg be higher? I use warcrafthuntersunion as my main source on hunter information and Frostheim has an Agility vs Armor Pen discussion and he says for every build agility is the way to go. I feel more comfortable being agi gemmed cuz I can easily switch back to Survi whenever I need. With a full armor penetration gem system that would not be possible. But if ya say that with a full ArP gem system my dmg will be higher, then i'll do it.

1st.b What are the socket bonuses a MM ArP hunter should get? For e.g. a red+yellow socket which gives +6 agi as a bonus worth going for ArP red and Agi+Crit rating yellow? (also I don't really understand the mechanics of the meta gems. If they say they need 1 red 1 yellow 1 blue it means I have to put a blue in a blue socket or just a blue in anywhere?)

1st.c My talents, as u can see skips the careful aim, due I have a HUGE amount of hit "thanks" for my gear. I really can't do anything about it but in ICC it'll be reduced so I'm not afraid staying nearly double hit capped. But I really can't decide on getting full Rapid Recuperation. I do have mana issues (while self buffed) in MM, but only having replenishment during Rapid fire is seems not enough. Also I could put 1 point from ISS to Recuperation and 1 to IHM. (How do you exactly use Rapid Fire and Readiness during a fight?)

2nd. Calebv from Ensidia in his ICC hunter guide said he uses Kill Shot glyph, cuz it is better dps raise then hawk or aimed shot. I use hawk at the moment as my 3rd glyph, but if you say so I can go to kill shot. I really dont know how long the bosses stay under 20% on ICC and how this compares to their phase of being over 20% HP. I can imagine that Kill Shot Glyph is a higher DPS boost due to many add management during fights (and during the boss being over 20% hp) but I cant calculate it with a dummy and I really dont understand the spreadsheets

3rd. I see many hunters go back to Survi in the upper tiers of ICC. I hear that due to the mass moving what those fights requie Survi is a better DPS. It is because of the ES/AiS spam and the 2 dots on the boss all the time? With MM we can't SS but we still can CS/AiS/ArS while running. Missing SS from the rotation makes Survi a better DPS during those fights (cuz in that case gemming for ArP is not so friendly idea)

4th. I dropped ArS from my entire rotation. I dunno if I should. ArS is not affected by ArP but I really did not stack ArP yet. I guess this is something I should check on the dummy, but I'm just curious about your opinion.

5th. (and last) I know about the fact that refreshing SrS when additional buffs applied to you is a Must Have for best DPS output but I really don't know what buffs should I monitor. The tooltip says it scales with RAP so whenewer I get proc from Mirror of Truth or 2pt10 set or etc I should reapply it. Is there a full list of buffs what I should monitor or a list of combinations what occur often and should be watched? I'm thinking of making a window in SBF just to watch those buffs on me.
