The only purpose in the hybrid spec you suggested would be to negate the effect of Lich King's infest, which is mentioned in the Disc thread. Unless this is a spec you want to run with for all fights, it is still suboptimal. The point in Body and Soul is a complete waste, as you're forgetting Divine Providence doesn't just affect COH. I understand your idea behind wanting to be able to spam shields though.
What I'd be more concerned about, is the only tank cool down from healers your group would have is the pallies lay on hands, which really isn't a CD at all.
Side note, if CoH is 70% overheal, then are a lot of your other spells as well? Why not drop to 2 healers for most fights then.
So me and the other protection paladin in the guild, have noticed that our threat has been going down somewhat, and our dps has been pushing our cap harder and harder, anyone else notice this? I haven't changed specs or glyphs. It just seemed like it went down in the past week or so.
I have to say, I find it frustrating that T10, the "best" tier of the expansion, is also the only one that does almost nothing to ease our rotations, so I can see this getting quite hard for me without rip/SR/rake extension or extra OoC procs (which I would love to have on T10).
You had nearly 1 1/2 years of WotLK and 3 Tiers before ICC to learn and master feral dps.
ICC is the pinnacle of Tier Sets. The 4pc bonus is extremely great, among the best we ever had. While they don't ease your dps rotation, you're expected to maintain the cycle without help since you've got plenty of time to learn it.
It's actually not impossible to get 100% SR uptime and >90% Rip and Rake uptime, even when mangling yourself (and dummy encounter obviously). If you want to exercise, I recommend the lvl80 target dummy (4.8% crit suppression, you'd otherwise get through Kings, Horn of Winter and 3% Crit debuff)
I'm talking 4.0, not Cataclysm... As in the time period between the pre-Cataclysm patch (where they implement the changes to specs and gear) and the launch of Cataclysm; the time period where we are raiding ICC with Cataclysm talents and gear itemized around the changes Cataclysm is bringing (2:1 AP:agi ratio, no AP on gear, no Armor Penetration Rating on gear).
Granted raiding at that point will be close to trivial because of how close we'll be to Cataclysm, but that doesn't mean I plan on ceasing to raid or ceasing to care about whether or not I'm optimizing.
Im sorry if it's been answered and i overlooked it but will [Tiny Abomination in a Jar] be where it should be, dps wise, in Rawr soon? I've understood that it's not a walk in the park to model correctly but if we're as far as to put it in the BiS gear then it should show more promise in Rawr as well?
i play on a private server as a rogue. everything is blizzlike, rates, damage etc... And im rolling a rogue (human). So ive got a few questions for u guys. first one is, how am i to beat plate as a sub rogue? 21/0/50 (coldblood/ no shadowdance)... and the 2nd question is how do i get higher crits? im currently rolling 4k AP unbuffed with some furious/relentless pvp gear.
Ive seen videos of guys just as geared as me, hitting plate for much higher.. i do no comprehend how it works, could some1 please explain? thanks in advance
I have a question about the glyphs:
Why don't use the "Glyph of Arcane Power" => 3 second's longer duration of Arcane Power instead of "Glyph of Molten Armor".
In this 3 seconds (with Haste CD / Pot), you can cast ~2 AB + AMProcc.
With Glyph of Molten Armor, Molten Armor brings self buffed ~7% crit bonus.
Without the Glyph ~5% crit bonus.
Because (unless I am mistaken) that extra 2+% crit (for my gear it is 3.5%) is worth more dps than an extra 3 seconds of 20% more damage every 1:40, which I would guess holds more power if you (like me) are still using the T9x2 piece.
I would have a hard time getting/timing that 2AB+AM in that small 3 second window to make it a DPS increase instead of using the cooldowns at other times (then again I regularly raid with 150ish ping, so if a lower-ping person wants to reply to this feel free).
Regarding the tools we have to improve our DPS, I've been using Aldriana's spreadsheet for a while, and I usually follow it when chosing equipment upgrades.
If I find that one piece of gear I have is not in the last version of the sheet, or if I simply would like to have a second opinion, would you recommend to use Rawr or is it still not fully developed for rogues?
Got my mage to a reasonable gs of 5.2K with t9.5 / t10 items I have a question which I hope someone will answer.
I'm using (thanks to this forum) the AB AB AB [MBarr proc] AM rotation / AB x 4 [MBarr] AM with some nice macros to activate AP / IV and the trinkets (haste trinket not being used with IV ofc). However, I am not happy with the DPS out-turn, so I have some questions:
- What would you say is a benchmark dps level to be churning out on the dummies for latter content?
- I am currently only churning out steady dps of 4.5K (not including initial spikes) of which I may churn out as little as 3.6 on HC and a max 5.3 steady in ICC 25. Now I should be doing much more that that with the above dps-centred rotation. Would IT issues (Cast timing on the bars, Key buffering, local latency, lag between client and server, Windows Vista, Norton Anti-Virus etc) be the cause of the slower dps? Is there a way round it (short of a total re-install)?
