So I read a lot of posts, and they say to use the armor potions and speed potions. So I guess my question is, is the armr potion better to use right before the pull even if yer gonna pop DW and racial(orc) at the very begining anyway, or would a haste pot with DW and trinkets and things be better, and then another one during BL. This is assuming not BL at the begining.

Hello everyone, I have been trying to improve my performance and am having a bit of a problem balancing my gemming and sigils. I am concerned that I am using the wrong sigil. From the discussions above I may not be the only one. I ran numerous sims using RAWR (great tool thank you very much for all of the hard work put into this program) and Team Robot (also very good tool) which I used as a second opinion so to speak and then went in game and actually did what I simulated. The results were reasonably what RAWR displayed I would see so I know that I am at a starting point that is accurate.

What I found for my build: The World of Warcraft Armory - Wrathful @ Shandris - Profile

Self buffed using HoW/ Dragfin Filet/ Rage flask with 15 (6 min) runs for each sigil averaged of 4451 DPS/ 854,544 DMG using the Hanged Man and 4729 DPS/ 899,466 DMG using the Virulence on the Heroic Dummy in IF. My current stats are: Str= 2457/ AP= 6105/ Hit= 278/ Exp= 12/ Crit= 35%/ ArP= 576 (41%). My strikes for testing are basic rotations discussed here, when i am raiding I use a priority based system (diseases/ HS/ DS/ Dumps) and I see 7k to 8k DPS in 25 man fully buffed raids so I know I am close to being on mark. The question here is should I continue to use Virulence or move to the Hanged Man at my current stat levels, or wait until I get a little higher level gear?

The other question is the same one everyone has been asking about gemming ArP. I am over 2k Str so I put 3 (34 ArP) gems in which follows the general ideas discussed here. I have not seen any appreciable gain in damage, so I was thinking that I may not have the right gear sets yet. I currently wear 2 T9.3 and 2 T10 so I get the 2pc tier bonus on each set. My question is has anyone developed a minimum stat level where you begin to gem ArP over Str?

Using the generalized 2K strength idea in my case did not provide the improvements others have discussed, so I maybe doing something wrong in which case any advice you guys could provide would be appreciated. Thanks.

I keep thinking about gemming for SP+crit after hitting the 1269 cap, but since I already have around 45% crit unbuffed the value of gemming crit should decrease with every gem/item I'm putting in beyond the 50% crit mark (which I am already over raidbuffed).

There must be some way to calculate that, anyone feel like making a formula?

Is the Ashen band of endless vengence(AGI/AP) better than the ashen band of endless might for ret? Thanks in advance.

Before I ask this I just want to lay this out there, I haven't played in over 6 months. The last time I played, Yogg hard mode was the hardest thing in the game and.. TOC? hadn't been heard of yet. That being said, where do rogues sit as far as peaking pve/pvp specs atm?

4 piece worth it?

I'm at the point where I need to choose if I want to get the 4 piece set or not. I'm not too excited about the bonus. Any Ideas? Do I want to waste my dkp on the set bonus or just get the other 264 legs.

So when using Unholy Presence instead of Blood Presence, I do around at least 200+ more DPS. Is it true that using Unholy Presence is the norm, since it's not like there's a lot of waiting going on when using Unholy Presence. In Blood Presence my RP is capped like 80% of the time.

Here is my opinion since I have been testing with gemming ArP lately - it is worth the effort only if it brings you to hard cap. Your goal is to have 1260 ArPen rating. If you use hearty rhino this brings us to 1220. So assuming that you have 15 sockets that you can put arpen gems into - this brings us to 900-ish range of arp on gear - this is when you can begin to stack arpen with gems instead of strength. You are basically sacrificing raw power for scalability - so you performance will be dependable on having all the proper buffs and debuffs on the boss - so in 10 mans you may see performance decrease.

Hanged man - I don't like items with ramp up times. I think there may be better uses for your emblems (the amazing emblem cape for example)

Blood has never, ever used UP in any stage of the game.

In order to have UP being a benefit, you would need a GoDD rotation, which uses 10 gcds for rune abilities over 20 seconds, meaning you get more or less 3 deathcoils per rotation. Assuming you can generate an excess of 80 (using HoW) you would obtain 2 more deathcoils. That would be at 50% critchance an average of 9000 dmg, or about 450 dps.

Considering you're losing 15% dmg on everything but your autoattack, if autoattacking was 25-30% of your dps at 10k dps in BP, you would be losing about 1200 dps to gain (dubious) 450. To break even you would need over 5 more DC per rotation, which is clearly impossible both in terms of gcd and RP.

It's impossible to perform better with UP as blood.

12 weeks without a Sigil of the Vengeful Heart drop and counting.

Because it's better (by about 40 DPS).

Umm question why do you salvation? Are you thinking a rogue is gona go oh oh he salv'ed himself I better switch targets due to his threat drop?

No, just stick with the 2 piece (Helm and Shoulders). Holy shock should only be used when moving around (Therefore low usage). Our main spell we spam almost non-stop is holy light. Just save your DKP.

Can someone update the BIS Gear with the new Lichkingweapon an Hitcap
because without Rigormortis we lost 50 hit and i dont now which item i should change so i become the 14% again.

I made two BIS-lists:

0/13/58: Profiler - Wowhead
56/0/15: Profiler - Wowhead

However, as Madlax pointed out to me, BIS with Lich King gear is kind of pointless, because once you've defeated LK25 HC, you won't really need BIS items any more.

I did notice this last night too. It's a great new feature to Quartz.

However, after playing with it for 10 mins, I discovered the following: With my current pve gear (about 1015 haste self buffed), I do not always get a Drain Soul tick at the end of a cast, i.e. when my channeling bar reaches the end. Most of the time, I would get a penultimate tick and the last 2 seconds of drain would would not grant me any damage done.

I did 15 tests, and only 3 times did I get "the final tick" when the bar reached the end.

I decide to switch to my pvp gear (about 300-400 haste) and test this out. There, results were different, and I would always get the final tick.

Can the community point out A: If i'm missing out something here and B: If you have the same results? I suspect haste not scaling properly...
