According to the changes HAT (or may as well just call it Subtlety now) rogues will have the following:
- Tricks on 20 second cooldown at 5 energy cost (will need to check t10 2 set behavior with this) which would mean 50% tricks buff uptime if traded with another Subtlety rogue - roughly 7.5% damage increase if i'm not mistaken.
- 5% increased damage to all attacks
- Hemorrhage buff which might prove irrelevant but it also might have some value if used only to refresh the stack and backstab remains the combo builder of choice
- Just as before, fully talented Rupture prolonged by glyphed backstab except that it can crit now
If we go for 4/5 t10 combo point income would be increased as well, along with higher crit chance of every class due to far better gear than before.
Question is, can these changes make subtlety tree viable for raiding once again?
It makes interesting, but I have a lot of doubts...
Filthy Tricks and Slaughter from the shadows arequite deep in the subtlety tree. 12 or 13 points in combat is maximum if you want to put some points into Blood Splatter.
So I guess I gotta post 10 "successful" posts before I get all my amazing privileges. Here goes...
Slickshoes - What do you need addons for anyways dude? PVP is about button mashing + timing + skill.
Make a nice button for targest nearest teammate, which is basically all u need in arena 2s, along with the alt key. Then when stuff gets crazy in 3s 5s or BGs you can still click targets either in your game field, or click icons on your party bars...
I actually use no addons, as in zero, and I haven't found the need to yet.
Hi, I have played wow since beta but never figured out all the details. I am tryin to find a method of making a dynamic spreadsheet that can include all race/class combos. My basic idea is to have a small database of weaps, armor etc and have each race/class combo start blank with the naked-no talents level 80 stats. Then add talents gear etc to come up with dps info.. Currently im trying to expand on Aldrianna's excellent rogue spreadsheet but i must admit that even though i use spreadsheets for alot of things i am having a hard time combing through all the info on that sheet to come to some basic understanding of the basic formulas involved. I am currently downloading Simulationcraft to try and explore that avenue of information but if ANYONE could please help me with the basic info or point me to an existing database then i would greatly appreciate it...
On a side note i would just like to applaude everyone single one of the develepors/players who have datamined and formulated themselves silly coming up with all the currently available info. I am only scratching at the doorstep of this mass of info and I can already feel a headache coming on.... So, Thank You to all of you for all your diligent work.
The question is will the buff Glyph of Flame shock to be something useful or will we end up using LB+Lava+ToW for glyphs now. Overall a very welcome buff, though it will be interesting to see if we'll get much benefit out of 4pc T10 anymore
Wondering the same thing, maybe they'll change the 4pc T10 again.
First of all did you see the patch notes where the glyph of fireball for mages was getting a casting time change? So they are okay with using this mechanic for one class. I also found it a tad strange that they buffed elemental shaman Flame shock again and buffed immolate (letting it crit). I know it would not be much of a buff but I'd not mind at least seeing haste work on our dots and/or letting them crit.
Just a question on trinkets for Arms. I can't win a new trinket for the life of me, whether its losing DV to Enhance Shamans in pugs, or my 10 man guild seeing only 1 WFS drop since ICC came out (which I didn't get).
So I've been using Banner of Victory and DMG for a long time now. However, looking at Rawr, seems to point to the Frost Trinket, Herkuml putting out an extra 30-40 DPS over the DMG. Just curious if anyone has used this trinket, as Arms, with any positive results.
I'm at work, so I can't utilize Landsoul's spreadsheet to see if it tells me the same thing.
You're in a very similar situation to me. I have seen 0 WFS drops until my first heroic kill yesterday. (I creamed irl) Before that i was also BoV / DMG. Herkuml War Token is a dps upgrade significantly spreadsheet wise, but do not replace DMG, replace BoV even if it un-hardcaps your ARP. DMG is still a very very good trinket pre DV.
I realise this is still only on the PTR so far but the following might interest anyone in love with sub:
Rogue (Forums / Talent Calculator)
* Rupture: The damage-over-time component of this ability can now produce critical strikes.
* Filthy Tricks: Now Reduces the cooldown by 5/10 seconds and energy cost by 5/10 of Tricks of the Trade, Distract and Shadowstep abilities, and reduces the cooldown of Preparation by 1.5/3 minutes.
* Ghostly Strike: If the rogue has a dagger equipped, this ability now deals 180% weapon damage instead of 125%.
* Hemorrhage: If the rogue has a dagger equipped, this ability now deals 160% weapon damage instead of 110%.
* Slaughter from the Shadows: Now adds 1/2/3/4/5% damage to all attacks in addition to its current effects.
* Waylay: The debuff from this talent can now be caused by Backstab in addition to Ambush.
A spec utilizing the finishers(blood splatter + imp evisc) and 4pt10 coupled with the changes to hemo(no longer a dps loss compared to backstab counting its raid utility since you don't need to weapon swap) might push sub from abysmal up to the sub-par/semi-viable as some sort of support spec. Not to mention it would help on the many fights involving movement in ICC to have 20 second shadowstep.
Unfortunately I have no way to test the changes but I was thinking a build something along the lines of this(some points still unspent). Not sure exactly on which glyph to get for third(after hemo/tricks, as I assume those would be the best for this kind of spec) but just picked evisc for the hell of it.
The question is if rupture is going to do enough damage to warrant bloodsplatter over going down to lightning reflexes in combat.
Sounds like a sad nerf to me. At least my disc priest doesn't have to put up with me whining for a bubble.
Although the next time I absorb a 30k empowered fireball on blood princes (and I mean NEXT time, thanks frost warding), I'm going to have 3000 spellpower to play with. Assuming I still talent this.
Oh well. At least they didn't nerf this while twin valkyrs was relevant.
I play a blood dps DK and have both Citadel Enforcers Claymore and Ramaladni's Blade of Culling. Which is the better dps weapon? Also, which trinkets should i use? I currently have Pyrite Infuser, Darkmoon Card Greatness, Banner of Victory and Needle Encrusted Scorpion. Any help of which combination to use for better dps is much appreciated.
