I'm sorry if this has already been covered, but with over 100 pages I'm just not going to find it.
I'm going for the ArP hard cap, and am currently at 900 without my trinket proced. I'm using deaths verdict and the runestone from thorim hard mode.
When my runestone procs I am a good amount above the hard cap, at what point should I look to replace the runestone with a trinket that will not waste half the proc?
If I get the trinket from the 5 man toc ill be around 990, and with deathbringers will ill be over 1k.
Any insight I to this would be helpful.
Just out of sheer curiousity, Squeakster. No offense.
How are you supposed to crack this "nut" which changes equation every second you're pulling, your guildmates dps, your tanks do an attack, the encounter mechanics. The amount of scenarios you'd have to take into account would be too much for any human being to handle. The only thing you can "assume" is how much haste will give you on a few handful of encounters in ICC.
I'm not against this topic, I like it. It's a summary of what me and firstaidspec was discussing not to long ago in the compendium. I'm just saying, all we need is a estimate of how haste balances out on;
1) "PoM, Renew, CoH encounters"
2) "PoM, CoH, PoH encounters"
3) "FH, GH, CoH, PoM encounters"
4) "Everything in your arsenal encounters"
5) "Shield spam encounters"
6) "FH, Penance, Shield, GH encounters"
All we really can discuss on the subject is how much are we going to get out of each spell in an optimal encounter, what I listed is as we all know some of the most common ones.
I agree completely with you. I'm not saying it isn't worth the time to compare the stats, but what a healer does depends so much on their environment. Though fights might call for the same general rule for healing, what the other 24 people do in your raid plays a large role as well. The best way I could think of handling this would be to at least do as suggested here, evaluating haste based on what heals are required for a specific fight. Of course, no one would go regem/regear for each encounter, but I don't think it's a good idea to generalize the value of one stat when encounters vary greatly.
Still, I think this thread is a great guideline for anyone wanting to understand the basic value of haste in comparison mainly to crit. I just think it would be awesome if we could sort of aim the theorycrafting more precisely.
So will the buffs to Frost and the new proposed Frost subspec change the Trinket rankings on the OP? Now that ArmPen will be valued less, does DBW go down in value compared to the other available trinkets as well?
Hey guys. Long time lurker first time poster but I have a question regarding trinket decision. I've read a ton of the relevant (3.3.3) stuff in this thread as well as the original post, but nothing that has really helped me make a decision. I recently got Muradin's Spyglass ([Muradin's Spyglass]) and have had NMiC for a while as well. I've been running affliction as of late but normally I have been destruction. I like the rotation and the mobility that affliction allows me to have though, but am still quite unsure as to what BiS of the trinkets that I have it. Without Shard of the Crystal Heart ([Shard of the Crystal Heart]) my hit goes down to 13.5-14% range.
I'm spec'd 3/3 Suppression for 3% more hit putting me around the 17% range without the Shard of the Crystal Heart. My main question is will I see a DPS loss without being closer to 18% hit, and does this make running with NMiC/Spyglass a better combination. I really really like the added haste from the Shard especially with lust and a haste potions. But I don't see how much of an impact haste has with affliction because I don't know the spec quite as well.
Okay, just a question, when Cata comes out and ArP supposedly to be removed is their a replacement attribute or just simply removed?
And also about they're planning to change Mana-based spells and change us to Energy-based spells (i.e. Rogue) ?
Is it just me or does all the BiS lists seem to have very, very low expertise rating? According to the absolute BiS the only expertise gear is the heroic neck, which with the expertise from talents give you 11 expertise in total.
To me that seems a bit low. I was under the impression that you should at least have around 20 expertise to avoid too many dodges during one rune rotation? Isn't it better to switch the legs for the heroic T10 legs?
OK I do decent damage on mobs in ICC but I think my DPS could be higher on bosses. My question that everyone seems to have a differenct opinion on is, on bosses (ICC specific) am I better of dualing Bryntroll/Dual butcher or using two Bryntrolls.
