Well, firstly, the DPS you get from Landsoul's sheet is stationary DPS, meaning you have 100% DPS time, no movement.
Secondly, it's indeed much easier to reach optimal DPS as fury, since the "rotation" is much simpler. I should be doing as much or more as Arms compared to Fury according to spreadsheet, but with full buffs I'm falling behind as Arms. The exact amount varies. Some of it is due to the more complicated rotation, some of it... not really sure. The only time I reached nearly the DPS the spreadsheet suggests as arms was in a Toravon 25 kill where I did 8,8k, but the VoA bosses are such quick nukefests that I suppose they don't really count.
In 10-mans it's usually better be arms, since it's not as buff-dependant and our raid roster isn't always balanced and since we have a druid tank, I bring a better buff as arms to boot.

I've noticed this as well. It's certainly annoying, but dunno what to do about it.
I downloaded the simsheet that mavanas has been using for HaT Testing. Plugged my current gear in and ran a test with no buffs(I like to do it without buffs to get a solid baseline.) Anyway the result was 5700 dps. I then switched to the current combat sim i use and ran it and got 5900 dps. So it seems to me using hemo and getting the ~ 200 raid dps benefit of it is a wash, compared to your personal dps loss.
I do not know if you have done any comparisons like this.
As much as hate asking for help playing a a game, I feel im doing somthing wrong with how im playing my class.
Ive spent a great deal of time reading through post after post in an atempt to better my abillity to dps with my paladin.
my current rotation priority is judge>CS>DS>HOW>Conc>Exorsism, right now im doing about 5200 top top end dps on the dummies and around 6-7k in raids on bosses where i dont have to switch targets ie. saurfang.
According to Rawr i should be able to pull 6.2k self buffed and around 9.5k with ideal raid buffs and im not even getting within a stones throw of that, is Rawr wrong and im not doing as bad as i think i am or am i really screwing things up with my character.
Also i picked up the [Herkuml War Token] to replace my greatness card and on multiple tests i found that my dps was higher with the greatness card dispite it being ranked on rawr as a fairly large dps boost compared to greatness card.
So i guess my biggest question and the whole point to this fairly noobish post is am i doing somthing wrong or am i really about where i should be based on my gear, and well just have to accept the fact that arcane mages an hunters are going to wipe the floor with me on the meters no matter what i do even when i out gear them
Alright so I was wondering what i should gear for and in what error and when to switch from what to what as an
Arcane mage. I am hit capped have about 29% crit and 562 haste rating and about 2500 with just Molten Armor and arcane intel. what should i improve?
So, everywhere I look all the websites seem to agree on this, Mages should gear for spell power and haste first and foremost with crit rating a distant third. My friend rolls a Mage and does just the opposite, he gems/gears first and foremost for crit rating, getting his crit percentage as high as he can. His theory is that if the majority of your spells are critting, it makes up for the longer cast time and lower spell power. I wish I could prove him wrong but the hard fact is he does just as much, if not better, dps as me and I have the better gear. Is his method an acceptable method as well? I'm using Rawr to help me with my gemming and it frustrates me that I got to these ends with the goal of maximizing my dps and he just does his own thing and outperforms me.
We can't give much insight if the only information given in 'I have X, he has Y'. Are you using different rotations? Is he getting cooldowns such as Power Infusion? Is he better than you?
Rotation is pretty much the same. I ABx4 and use Missiles when it procs. He throws an Arcane Blast after his missiles since he doesn't have the T10 2pc bonus. He's not receiving cooldowns either. I'm talking just a straight burn on the Heroic Training Dummy, both of us using our cooldowns, he gives me a run for my money. He probably is better than me since he's an old school Vanilla playa but still... we're using the same rotation and the only major difference is his gemming/gear selection that favors crit and it bugs me that he does so well despite going against the peeps that have deeps down to a science.
His character's name is Bombardeiro on my server if you wish to see his gear setup.
i'm guessing since tot glyph doesn't effect your dps u won't be adding it to glyph list, but is possible to get an option that u are receiving tot with or without glyph and possibly even talented in case some1 is getting sub tot. Also is it assumed that talents for mut auto includes master poisoner? i'm guessing it is but why is it hided and other deep talents aren't just doesn't make sense for consistency sake.
p.s. also thx alot for the program. create donate button on ur site.
His choices are wrong, which is probably more of a worry than if they were right in your case. Check over the arcane thread and make sure you're up to date on your playstyle and stat choices because you should be leaps and bounds ahead of him.
In a movement fight you may be better of switching to blood strikes or just forgetting your rotation because often a boss can move right when you are about to cast it. I always find that even if my rotations go to shit in these situations my dps is still higher. On a nice normal fight its not a difficult spell to use. Even with blood tap bugging out, I have to blood strike, than during the global cooldown I have to BT and UA then cast Pest. I used it before in Ulduar and was very happy with it. Overall its just about not pushing your luck when its about time to refresh your diseases. If you can hold off on getting one more frost strike off, then you should be good.
