Thanks for the reply, I believe this is for a reaping rotation. I'm currently wearing a 4pT9 which is why i wanna try unholy. I was using blood before and it's giving me alot of burst with a different opening rotation before casting DRW. How about unholy with reapingless rotation?

This has been addressed a few times. The best math came from Stassart. His conclusion was that when you factor in the high mana cost of flame shock and the lost GCD keeping it up, the HEP gained from the totem's haste is cancelled out. Other posters have also noted that the totem is not practical on trash, where your flame shock will not tick to full duration, and the 20 yard range on resto flame shock makes positioning tricky on some bosses.

It does not seem that the ele totem is viable in comparison to the easily acquirable resto totems available.

Not sure why people are worrying about Cataclysm when we haven't figured out the best spec for 3.3 or the priority/rotation. Not sure why people are worrying about Cataclysm regardless especially since Blizzard has already addressed these itemization problems specifically for moonkins, bears and ele shamans.

The shown DPS is only for a theoretical, perfect single-target-battle and depends very much on the buffs.

Usually your real dps will be ~2000 dps lower, except you fight multi-target or are a really good player with an ideal raid setup.

Hello world,

I'm a french player and I have a very bad english.
I will talk about a problem for my spec. Some people tell about me that I have a low aggro and I take more dommage than other tank.

I've seen few pages of the thread and I haven't find some answer to my two questions.
First, I would know what is the best rotation in openning fight to maximise the threath for some boss in ICC 25-man raid.
My second question: What the best stats to increase to take less damage than other. I saw that stam is better for boss that do a mix between physical damage and spell damage and avoidance for the other boss.
Do I understood well?

Which raid buffs do you have selected? If you are in an environment without these buffs your dps will be much lower. If you've selected the accurate buffs, then likely your execution of the fury rotation needs some work.

ok been noticing a lot of protection pallys in randoms who don't use [touched by the light] talent in there tree. maybe i'm wrong but isn't holy damage connected to your spell power?

so im trying out the mutilate spec from the "read this" thread and the cycle says "4+ Envenom", it doesnt say to use SS or Shiv or Mutilate as your point stackers, can anyone give me an answer for this to max out my dps?

@minimoose: open with garrote or mutilate (depending on if you have someone else who puts up bleeds), hfb, slice n dice. mutilate to 4/5 cp's then envenom, mutilate to 4/5 cp's then envenom. so on and so forth.

Mutilate spec derives the name from the ability it uses to generate combo points: Mutilate.

You're correct. It's standard for paladin tanks to take this talent for Threat purposes. Although if all that paladin is doing is running heroics, they probably wouldn't need the extra threat generated by the talent. However, for raid situations this talent is almost essential. The only time you wouldn't need it is if the dps in your raid is so low that you have absolutely no threat problems without "touched by the light". The only time i can think of this happening is if you are tanking down. Say geared in ICC loots and tanking a Nax pug, with Naxx equivalent pugs.

I am a little cornfused and discombobulated by all the numbers adding to this and that for the caps... can someone tell me in simple terms what numbers i should be aiming for in each spec on my mage un buffed ... for example... to get the crit cap you need '300 crit' points etc... I heard that for arcane you should go for haste and hit but with fire its crit... so if i could get numbers for each spec i would apreciate it...
