Has there been any discussion whether or not DK's who are on the crit heavy side (35+% unbuffed) benefit more from dropping the normal 2 points in Dark Conviction, and adding to Morbidity?
There was some discussion about that earlier in the thread. The conclusion that was reached is that morbidity is probably going to be better if you are able to get extra runic power from anti magic shell or revitalise.
Has there been any discussion whether or not DK's who are on the crit heavy side (35+% unbuffed) benefit more from dropping the normal 2 points in Dark Conviction, and adding to Morbidity? Or is that always going to be a DPS loss no matter how high your crit rating is?
Even without high crit. The single target dps loss from switching from DC to Morbidity turned out to be around 50 dps. I value the increased utility over that 50 dps myself.
I assume that if you have a high crit chance that that difference grows smaller.
I'm currently still progressing in normal modes on 10 and 25 man and have a quick question regarding the normal 10 man drops versus the frost badge rewards. Specifically in regards to two certain drops and their frost counterparts.
On one hand I've aquired the "Blade-Scored Carapace" but will also soon have badges to pick up "Castle Breaker's Battleplate". The latter one seems to have a bigger budget but replaces the nice haste with icky arp.
I have the same issue with "Saronite Gargoyle Cloak" which has better stats (crit, haste) but a somewhat lower budget than
"Might of the Ocean Serpent", that gives me more icky arp, and has the audacity to give me more expertise when I'm allready above the cap.
So far I'm thinking that the 264 chest is a nice tradeup with the small str and crit gain making up the loss of haste for arp,
while the 264 cloak is just a poor choice compared to the one I am currently sporting. I'm just looking for a quick input, thanks!
The cloak may or may not be an upgrade for you (check Rawr or Exemplar's spreadsheet), but the Blade Scored Carapace is a pretty nice piece, as is the Gendarme's Cuirass. That being said, the T10 chest is BIS, but may not actually be an upgrade to you before the 264 version. Generally speaking, there's no need or reason to waste your badges on the Castle Breaker's Battleplate.
You're much better off picking up your two-piece T10 set bonus with those badges, though ideally you want to keep your T9 2pc bonus until you can activate 4pc T10.

I've noticed that the ppl communicating here are healing icc norm or hc.
Well, I've a littlebit smaller problem.
I've started healing with my shaman (Alt) from 73 and I'm still doing it. Main spec is resto.
I've read different guides about it.
Most of these guides talk about that balance is the priority between Crit, Haste & SP.
Good idea, but I find it hard to follw.
Because we have mainly crit, SP & MP5 on all gear and rearly haste.
But it is really annoying, how slow the shamy is.
Can anyvbody share their method on focusing on different stats?
The biggest raid I'm capeable of is toc norm 10 man.
I looted a pretty nice mage staff.
I started using that and I couldn't find better shield+weapon combination.
I've also made a comparison on wowhead here and found that with the staff (+ ench + gems) the staff beats the other combos in almost every are.
I used the equipment, which can be available for me. (Not Trauma)
Anybody has any idea, how I should prio the stats?
Hello guys, if its possible please someone tell me how much ArP i must have self on my Caracter info window to go at 100% ArP in a 25man raid? From what i see there its not counted our Blood Gorged (caracter info window).
You can build a plate set with zero arpen if you want to. There is a plate belt with exp/crit if you need exp, you can buy the badge plate belt or badge leather belt (both are quite good). Armory me if you want, I am wearing basically that set I described. I just got the Arthas 2h tonight, so I swapped out my Oxheart and my crit/haste neck for Warmace and a crit/exp neck.
I do use the crafted leather boots which are amazing if you need the exp, if you don't want to drop the 10 grand then the boots your linked are probably your best choice. Using my set as a base the only ways to improve it without hardmodes is to buy the badge cloak and swap out expertise somewhere else and buy the badge chest. Both have arpen, but both are superior just by being higher ilvl.
Ok thanks a lot. I'm almost done with all prot gear from badges, so after that I might start buying ret gear with them. As for now I have to do it with ICC10 drops the DK doesn't need.
So if I understand you well, I shouldn't try to completely avoid any item with ARP on it, but if there is a choice between an ARP and non-ARP item, the non-ARP one would always be better for palas? (if they are both plate and both the same ilevel, and of the other one doesn't boost me too much over hit/expertise cap)
Since I thought you should just always avoid any ARP item as ret pala, because it's a fairly useless stat.
Basically just load use rawr, choose the items you are able to bid on, and it will tell you what is the best combination you can assemble. The choice of when is an ArP one better than the other will depend on usability of the stats the other piece has. What redscape was telling you is a rule of thumb thing, but using rawr will answer these questions for you.
Talking with pure anecdotal evidence, I think it's worth it personally, I've been running 12/0/59 for a while now and I like the DC damage and DnD cooldown reduction more than 2% crit, but YMMV.
I agree with this, and will run my 12/0/59 and off set the next week with 0/17/54 and see how they compare for myself before making the perma switch to sub frost. Though as a I posted earlier, I'll be testing my 0/17/54 build with reaping and posting the results here for some analzysis.
