I was hoping I could get some feedback from some experienced players. I have recently changed to a guild in which I am running 25 ICC every week (previously, I had never been in a guild that did 25s on a weekly basis). I have been used to 10 man healing, usually raid healing but sometimes tank healing. I never really had a strict rotation, just kind of did my thing, and it worked out. However, now I am a strict raid healer for our 25 man, and I stick very close to 5x1, with the occasional SM and LB. If you look at some of our more recent parses (03/16-03/17), you will see that RJ tops the charts by far, followed by WG, then Glyph of Rejuv and LB, while nourish and RG are basically out of my book:
World of Logs - Real Time Raid Analysis
With this, I am thinking that it will be beneficial if I modify my spec, glyphs and stat prioritization. First, if you ‘re looking at my armory and see that I am under the soft haste cap, ignore that. I have been messing around with some gear sets, but I never go into a raid without being 735+.
Right now, I am speced into CF. Once I start getting the gear I need, I am going to move out of that. And since I basically don’t caste nourish or RG, I really have no need for nature’s grace either, giving me 7 points to move around. I will probably put 3 in Living Seed (side topic: when can that bloom? Can it bloom from periodic raid damage like Frost Aura?), but then I have 4 points that I don’t know where to assign. I know I could put 2 in Nature’s Bounty, just in case I do have to get off a big heal. I was also considering Improved Barkskin and Imporved Tranq. I was thinking Barkskin because, as you can see, we do not easily down Sindragosa and we haven’t downed LK, so survivability is an issue, and that could give me a boost. Improved Tranq is more of a stretch, considering I have never casted it in combat in my life, but I can see it being used on Sindragosa when I get Unchained Magic. Thoughts?
For glyphs I have been using WG, SM and Rejuv. WG is pretty much a given for me, hands down. Rejuv is also something I think I should keep. Like I said, we aren’t breezing through this content, so people get low, and this could be a little boost when someone does get low, and from my logs, it has been amounting to around 1.5-2 % total healing. Then I have been using SM simply because I don’t like eating hots, and I can’t really think of another glyph that would be useful. RR is out of the question. I have thought about LB, but that doesn’t seem very beneficial. Same with Innervate, I have never had a problem with mana in any fight (LK encounter has been testing me, but we haven’t gotten far enough for it to be a problem). Now bare with me hear, I was also thinking Rebirth might be something to consider. People die a lot, as you can see from our logs, and this would definitely make things easier. Multiple times, myself or another druid has b-rezed someone, and when that person takes it, the die immediately from raid AOE or something else. This is obviously fairly situational, since we have raid members drop frequently, but I am just curious if anyone has tried this out.
I guess my stat prioritization doesn’t change too much. One thing is that the value of haste for me above the soft cap is significantly less valuable to me since I am casting off GCDs, so I try and stick very close to the soft cap. I also find crit to be significantly less valuable to me. In terms of tier gear, I really like T9-4pc, but I have never done 25-TOGC (or fully cleared 10m for that matter), so the 258-versions are someone out of my reach. That being said, I don’t think it would be worth to downgrade to that.
I have also had a pretty difficult time deciding what meta to use, as I have seen and heard different opinions from almost everyone I talk to. Maybe someone can clarify for me. I have been using
[Ember Skyflare Diamond] because I thought that's what your supposed to use if you don't have mana problems. But I have seen alot of very geared druids using
[Insightful Earthsiege Diamond]. And then RAWR tells me to use
[Revitalizing Skyflare Diamond]...thanks RAWR
One other thing I was just thinking about was incorporating
[Idol of Awakening] into my gear. I know I said mana isn’t really an issue for me, but I was trying to think of a way to imbed it into a macro, so I have
[Idol of the Black Willow] on until I have 8 stacks, then I switch to Awakening for ~10 seconds, then switch back to Black Willow for a couple seconds or until it renews, and then back to Awakening, etc etc. I have no idea if this is even possible, but just curious if anyone has thought about it or implemented it.
Trinkets are a whole other story for me, but this post is already too long so I won't bother...yet
Thanks for reading. Any input would be greatly appreciated!
