ding 80
I haven't found any sort of "direction" to where to start right after hitting 80. I am at the min hit cap with 100 hit rating...but I don't know what gear to look for...where to get it, etc.
I thought this thread would have it but I don't see it. Any info would be nice. thank you

Hello there, I have having a hard time deciding what is the best upgrade. I am debating between using Mechanist's Bindings(50 AP enchant), Thrusting Bands(50 AP enchant), Runed Ironhide Boots( Icewalker and 8agi 12 stam gem), and Footpads of Silence(Icewalker 8agi 12 stam and 16 agi gems). I have been tooling around with the combat spreadsheet(i am combat sword at the moment) and I am merely looking for some input. All values are taken unbuffed.
Mecanist's Bindings and Footpads of Silence:
Damage: 1007-1263
Speed: 2.12/1.23
Power:3824
Hit Raiting:313
Armor Pen Raiting:4.79%
Crit Chance:37.18%
Expertise:24/24
Agility:1437
Mecanist's Bindings and Runed Ironhide Boots:(my current set up)
Damage: 1002-1258
Speed: 2.12/1.23
Power:3797
Hit Raiting:265
Armor Pen Raiting:8.77%
Crit Chance:35.84%
Expertise:31/31
Agility:1427
Thrusting Bands and Footpads of Silence:
Damage: 1004-1260
Speed: 2.15/1.24
Power:3809
Hit Raiting:349
Armor Pen Raiting:4.79%
Crit Chance:36.24%
Expertise:29/29
Agility:1430

I would take a guess, just by looking at them for 2 seconds, that Mecanist's Bindings and Footpads of Silence is the best set up. If you read "Pocket Guide to WOTLK" you would note that you only need 26 exp so if you have 29 or 31 exp you have wasted stats. Using a spread sheet would tell you better then anyone here could just by looking at the numbers. I would also suggest not using blue gems unless its your only one for your meta.

Hello all ,
I have recently made a priest , and i would like to ask u all ..who can tell me ..the necesary stats i need to go for as shadow and as a disc ( healer - pve spec ), would realy apreciate this ty.
What is the Hit cap needed atm as shadow - using this spec : Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft
Also any points of view u can make abouth that spec-glyphs. ty
Btw here is the disco heal spec (PvE ): Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft
Also any points of view abouth the spec would be verry apresiated.

i read different sticky posts (All apparently updated to 3.1.) with the 2 choises.

If you're specced into ISL in Destruction (and there's really no reason not to) you don't want the Glyph of Life Tap. This may change with 3.2, but Incinerate/Conflagrate/Immolate are your best options at the moment.

You really should take the time to read through some of the threads. Even if it's just the basics. Then you would know the hit cap is 289 (or about 11%), sp > all for shadow priests and that gearing a disc priest really depends on what you're doing in the raid.

It is radius. Diameter would mean that you would only heal targets that are about 15-20y away. This is not true. If someone is in your normal healing range you will most likely hit them with PoH.

Not sure why you are bothering with all of these half-assed macros. If you are trying to heal in BG's it's far more effective to get a raidframe addon like Grid that show health, range and debuffs, or if you don't want/can't get addons, use friendly nameplates along with default raid UI.

Get the spreadsheet, and import your character. Then its easy to just swap out the trinkets with different gear combinations and see what will give you the most DPS.

EP is what's overpowered. No other class can buff aoe damage so massively.

In order for cast time spells to start getting clipped, your haste will have no affect past (cast time-1)*100% haste (ie (3-1)*100% = 200% haste for fireball) due to the spell being limited by a global cooldown. In my experience, the only time you even remotely begin to approach cast time spell caps are during Hodir or Vezax, but I mainly raid with fire/FFB so YMMV with frostbolt/arcane spec.
Keep in mind these numbers have absolutely no practical value. It doesn't account for latency, hotstreak, or other intangibles such as movement.
LB = 12 seconds.
Initial cast followed by 1.5sec GCD = 10.5 seconds of non-gcd limited casttime or 3 fireballs non-hasted.
HF = haste factor from external sources. These are multipicative. (for instance, 3% ret + 5% from shaman and you have 1.03*1.05 = 1.0815)
X = personal haste rating
GCD time = 1.5/[HF*(1+(X/3279))]
TTC (Time to cast between living bombs) = LB - GCD time
FBCT (Fireball cast time) = 3/(HF*(1+X/3279))
Number of casts (truncate the value) = TTC / FBCT
I'll save you the math. In order to reach the first breakpoint of four fireballs, you need about 132 personal haste with a ret pally + GoA totem - easily attainable in blues. The second breakpoint of five fireballs is about 890 haste rating. There's really no point going further since current gear won't really support any extra fireballs unless you are under the effect of bloodlust.
I made a simple spreadsheet for this (Please check my math, I whipped this up pretty hastily)

There we go, just what I was looking for. Thanks a lot ^^

Problem is that other classes get their dot-crit from talents, and as such its more readily assumed that they get synergy from other talents.

*shrug*
its apparent that the 4pc is filler, they can't seriously implement a bonus that is worse then t7 (can they?)
I wouldn't assume either way though apparently the sets are buyable for gold on PTR, so if we could only log in it would be np to find out

Long time listener, first time caller...
I have a couple of questions:
First: I was wondering if it would be more worthwhile to spend money on leveling blacksmithing or buy a nobles deck for DMC:G. I would do both if I had the cash, but I just don't. I would be dropping mining, and I already have JC. Keep in mind I would be doing BS for the extra sockets. From what I can calculate, they are not too far apart cost-wise (maybe I'm wrong). Any recommendations would be appreciated.
Second: Is it worth using [Conqueror's Scourgestalker Legguards] to get my 4-set bonus over [Saronite Mesh Legguards]. Assume identical gems/enchants, Surv spec.
Thanks!

Depends on what trinkets are you using now, bonus from DMC:G should outweigh 2 sockets unless you had something like wrathstone in that slot already. Also, unless your server economy is really screwed up, blacksmithing should be much cheaper to level than nobles deck costs - so the comparison isn't really fair. I think I spent around 2-3K to level blacksmithing and we had pretty inflated prices on ore, like 50g for stack of thorium and 70g for adamantite (I mined most of the adamantite, it takes very little time if you fly around blades edge).
About legs - I would try the speadsheet but it seems that 4-set bonus is a good reason to drop a 226 item for a set piece (especially if it has armor pen on it).

I'm SV as well, and have the pants as part of my 4pc (offtier shoulders for now). I broke the set by swapping in the Saronite Mess Leggings, and my dps dropped by 20. I had to change one gem to a Vivid Forest Emerald to keep my hit at capped, do to currently having the 6 hit socket bonus on the tier legs. Now, other stats would affect this, so I would also suggest plugging your specifics in the sheet and testing it before making a decision.
