From reading all these post this is what I have gathered. I am currently running the deep arcane spec (57/3/11). I am looking to run the FFB spec as it seems to be producing the same DPS numbers if not greater. (Please correct that statement if wrong).
Seems that the hit rating is still the 11% and crit rating needs to be roughly 30-32% (before molten amour). I still can not seem to find a definite answer as to what your base SP should be. I have seen 2K to 2.5K. I have seen less then 2K with the points in the correct talents to offset the lose. What is the general base SP that one should be around to successfully pull FFB off?
This is a build that I found. Is it a good one?

So I am fairly new to the death knight and I would like to think im a special cookie and have came up with a pretty awesome spec. Then reality hits me and I realize there are a lot of very intelligent posters here so I signed up and have been lurking around for a while... lots of great info here.
I have spent a decent amount of time working and re-working my build for small group pvp and some bgs
this is it:
Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft
its a 19/52 build (unholy/blood) based on increased damage, a "group" heal every 30 seconds, and pet / diseases from unholy.
Do my glyphs look good or would you change any?
Are there any tweaks you guys would do to my build?
Im wondering how this would stack up versus an unholy / frost build
my gear is bad at the moment so keep thatn in mind
thanks guys.

I guess there are more ppl then me that are confused about ARP and the Cap. I know the cap is at 100% = 1230 rating? and FF / Sunder Armor dont count there. And now to the part Im cunfused with, how does it work for a lvl 83 boss? The rating is the same I guess but our 10% from battle stance, is it still 10% for a lvl 83 boss or its lower?
I have been searching with no luck tho...

I guess what I am trying figure out is how to successfully make the switch from deep arcane to fire/FFB spec. All this info is hard to digest as I make the transition from a casual player who only goes into raids when the raid needs a warm body, to be a valued part of my guilds raid progression.
So something like this would be better then the last build?

I have a quick question, a few people have been telling me that haste is now the best stat to stack for enhance shamans, but then again a few have been telling me that attack power is still the best. my question is what is the best gem now for enhance shamans to use? ive even seen quite a few shamans gemming attack power and critical strike
can someone help me with this

To clarify, I would plan on using a spec that goes into fire for the mana return from criticals (30% return), along with going deep into Arcane, but skipping Missile Barrage and ABarrage and the like- focusing purely on buffing ABlast.
( Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft) ~Using Mage Armor for more regen.
Would this be sustainable?
Would the mana gains be enough to sustain ABlast spam?
Would ABlast spam under this model make up for not speccing into Icy Veins and any other talent that buffs AMissiles/ABarrage?
Would Mage Armor be necessary to maximize mana regen or would the extra critical strike from Molten Armor be enough to compensate with the mana return on crits (losing the extra 50% spirit regen)?
I am trying to figure out how to maximize Arcane dps, because I really do enjoy it more than Fire or Frost.

SLOW is definitly a must have.... at least thats what 90% of the ppl think which ask other ones to rate their shitspecs..
If u really want a viable shitspec. ("viable")

what waist to take
Just wanted to ask what u guys think about the two waist items u can get from tailoring. All destro wl s i know are using the one with
hit and haste, comparing them comes down to:
Cord of the white Dawn: 19 Sp, crit 48 VS 49 haste, 43 hit (sash of ancient power)
I wonder if the only reason for using the "caster" waist are the 43 hit, maybe considering later eq changes?
help me out pls, my guild wants me to decide before next raid^^

Hey
I got a couple of questions im hoping someone can answer me.
First of all, you can see my gear here:
The World of Warcraft Armory
Before yesterdays raid, I used Grim Toll instead of Wrathstone - so I had 416 hit.
Wrathstone dropped, but I was playing on a computer with no spreadsheets on.. so I assumed Wrathstone would give me an increase in DPS since I already had so much hit. But now that im on my own computer again, and plug it into my spreadsheet - it says I lose approx. 55dps. Is this really correct, is Grim Toll that much better - despite the fact that I got way too much hit already?
- I feel a bit silly for taking this trinket now, if the spreadsheet is correct. Hopefully I can make a ticket and give the trinket to someone else in the guild, who might need it more than I do.
"Trust your spreadsheet" -- well this brings me to another question;
I am not expertise capped atm. So.. I could for instance buy "Belt of the Twilight Assassin", or gem some red slots with Expertise.. but it only shows a DECREASE in dps. Ain't it that important to be expertise capped as combat?
And one last thing, the spreadsheet shows an increase in DPS when I gem my boots with only red gems. But that can't be correct since my meta gem doesn't work without a blue gem.
As you can see, im a bit confused on how much I can really trust the spreadsheet (FYI, I use Combat_1.1.xls )
Thanks for your time!

|
Yes. And hit above poison cap is not "Wasted", just less efficient - and sword spec benefits more from hit than most others.
|

|
It really isn't - your finishing moves can't be dodged (surprise attacks).
|
nd one last thing, the spreadsheet shows an increase in DPS when I gem my boots with only red gems. But that can't be correct since my meta gem doesn't work without a blue gem.
|
Your spreadsheet obviously assumes that you've activated the meta, as well you should be.

OptiGear - BiS warlock gear optimiser (alpha)
or use chardev.org v6 ~ a World of Warcraft character planner to plan your next gear updates.
using Ancient Power (which is considered BiS by current simcraft scale factors) makes planning a lot easier and eventualy frees up that hit trinket slot.

Sorry for my ignorance I have not been in the game for the past 4 months. I currently have decent stats for ulduar and plan on a comback soon. My question is with my spirit being so low at 280, should I forego the improved molten armor glyph for the improved scorch glyph until I can get it 400+? If I figured it right with improved molten armor I would be getting a total of 3.35% crit approx. With out it and using Molten armor it is 2.33 or so. Any thoughts?
I plan on switching to a FFB build and either FB or arcane for the 2nd build.

We just got our second 25man XT hardmode kill. It was a lot easier than our first kill after we decided to stick FB mages on XT the whole time and let other ranged with shorter nukes and no ttw buff take care of the life sparks. If memory serves, my dps went from 4.5k when on spark duty to 5.9k when sticking on XT.
It was doable when mages were on life spark duty with a /tar macro, but I definately ended up losing some cast time on dead sparks, and having no debuffs as other mentioned.

I didn't know where else to post this question because the elemental rotation thread is locked. So, I just wanted to know what the general rotation is for elemental now. Before, I was using CL in my rotation until an ele shaman in my guild told me that no shaman uses it in their rotation anymore. Apparently, the top DPS rotation is FS > LvB > LB spam until LvB comes up again. Is this true or should i still be weaving CL into my rotation?

Use of CL is entirely dependant upon gear level (haste, SP, set bonuses etc). As your profile links to a level 72 hunter we don't have the information to help you.

I play a warrior, and im trying to tweak my dps, attemting to decide what is more beneficial as arms. I've heard mixed things about stacking armor pen vs. Str, as Str is buffed by kings etc. With the newest buff armor pen some people are saying it is better to stack than Str even with kings buff. I guess the question is, what is the armor pen cap. My theory is that i have too much armor pen and need to be replacing that with Str to increase my dps. Im currently mace spec, with roughly 28% armor pen on the tooltip and in battle stance, with the target all sundered up that puts me at rougly 73% armor pen without Grim Toll proc. When GT procs it gives me about 50% armor pen thus wasting armor pen, since i assume you can not reduce enemy armor past 100%, (No negative armor pen.) This is where iam having trouble, when GT procs it puts me well over the cap. Some people have told me to not count on a trinket proc but when it procs im wasting mass amounts of armor pen where i could have strength. I guess i just need someone to enlighten me on the way armor pen really works and what the caps are and such.

Here is my armory if you want to brows it, some feedback would be great thanks!
