No we are alive and well in PVE.
Warlocks and Hunters are destroying me right now, but with these new spell bonuses, we should be able to pull abreast again.

I would lean towards selecting a profession that has a constant stat increaser instead of proc-based.

A lot of DKs took the lead on server first levelling because of this. Wish I knew before I started my DK.

Once I get 10 posts, I'll post my "Best Raiding Gear Available" for Unholy DPS DKs. This can serve as an excellent basis for gear selection for heroics/10mans/25mans.
Now if someone wanted to make the same version for tank gear...

The sample below references a WWS brutallus report.
Let's figure out what my DoT uptime was. To start, we need to know what the total combat length of the boss fight was in seconds. At the top of a WWS report, you'll see the date, time, and length of fight in minutes/seconds. In my example, the fight was 2 minutes and 39 seconds long. So, that's 159 seconds.
Next, to figure out DoT uptime, we need to determine what 100% uptime would be for each DoT. This is done by taking the length of the fight and dividing it by the interval of a DoTs tick. For example, corruption, UA, siphon life, and immolate all tick every 3 seconds. 159 / 3 = 53. So, if I had 53 ticks of each of those DoTs, that would be 100% uptime. To see how many times your DoTs ticked, look under each spell, and look under the column that says "Dots".
I had as follows:
-Corruption: 48 ticks
-UA: 42 ticks
-Immolate: 39 ticks
-Siphon Life: 46 ticks
As you can see, in that fight my UA and Immolate uptime was not quite up to speed. Also, remember that 100% uptime is not realistic. Especially if the mechanics of the fight stress execution over DPS via moving around, doing other things, etc.
For CoA, which ticks every 2 seconds, that would be 159 / 2 = 79 (round down). I had 68 ticks, so that's not too bad. To determine uptime, take the number of ticks you had and divide it by the number of ticks you would have had with 100% uptime. So, for CoA: 68/79 = .86 or, 86% uptime. 85-90% uptime is a realistic goal in a stand-up tank and spank single target fight.

As always, you are the jam when it comes to warlockery. I'll be passing this along to my warlocks for sure.

Just a fast question, i read all about haste and that atm playing as BM hunter my SS is capped, but during fights( 25 man) i rarely have any mana problems, so my wild guess is that i should use a haste potion , but still dunno when to do it. I usually go for using all my cds together, trinket + bw + rapid + cotw at start, sometimes Raid leader call for Heroism at same time.. so i pretty much stack Rapid + heroism. So my question is can u please tell me the best order haste cds should be used ( Rapid and haste potion). Thanks.

Fire is also good for levelling as you kill things quickly and still have some degree of control. As you are frost maybe try fire for a bit, see how it goes as once you have tried both, you will prefer one to the other, which will answer your question.

as for me i dont mind any specc as whatever is best goes, the thing tho is if we take hunters for examples when it comes to levling it really does matter with specc you are, since in the end one specc will give you more downtime.
I know Beastmastery has allways been the best (dunno about now) and survival hasnt, so if it isnt that big of a diffrence in mages i will just try everything out and se how it works.
Its not that i dont know the class but asking quickly here wich specc that should be the optimate helps me get to work quicker.
Anyway, thanks for your quick response.

Apologize if this has been answered already, but for tailor mages, is the +23 haste enchant better than the lightweave embroidery?

I just hit level 80 not to long ago and i was wondering what the new hit cap is. Is it still the same 16% like in BC or has the percent gone up? with catyclysm i have 16% with hit gear but I dont know if thats the cap and i need to focus on staying near that while gettting SP, crit and haste gear.

MS VS furry 70-80?
Lets assume PvP encounters do not occur and that all my weopons are the same level. If I were to question grind from 70-80 with a healbot following me around, which spec would get me to 80 faster? Arms vs Furry

To those of you who have expressed interest in helping: sorry for the delay in getting the second round of communication out. I was hoping to get it out last week before the expansion came out, but I ran out of time; and now, of course, like most of you, I'm busy playing the game rather than theorycrafting it. Once the initial rush dies off I'll get back to coordinating development of RogueCalc.

Your old spreadsheet was amazing, so I was about to give RogueCalc a go until I read this. Just to clarify, RogueCalc doesn't work for WotLK yet?

Hey there,
I am having a similar problem to what many other people have posted... inferior DPS. Now I know that due to some changes Paladins and DK's are doing an intense amount of damage.
Now I am routinely #3 on DPS (Behind a DK with excellent gear and a paladin with equally amazing gear) in 10-man Naxx. I go nuts during every encounter. I use Tricks of the Trade (on the tank) and immediately pop my AP trink/Blade Flurry macro and use Killing Spree (group pulls only obviously) once Killing Spree stops I pop Fan of Blades and settle onto the tank target. Since these are trash-pulls I cannot get into a proper 5s/5r/5e rotation (Since I am specced into S&D and glyphed on trash I just pop a few CP's of S&D and call it good).
What my issue is is my boss damage. It is usually the same arrangement as my overall. DK on top, Paladin second and myself third. This is with me blowing CD's at appropriate times (TotT on tank, AR/AP trink once initial energy pool expended) and a 5s/5r/5ev rotation. I knew something was wrong when I only got 2300ish on Patchwerk the other night. Deadly MH/WoundOH of course.
I would really appreciate a critique of my gearing choices. Have I prioritized hit over AP too much? My next badge purchase is the Mirror of Truth (I was dumb and got the belt first... I know I am not terribly bright).
Thank you!

Once above the Special attack hit cap, the spreadsheet will show optimal gemming choices. Right now, I am going with the +16 AP, +8 hit gems (main reason is they are cheap on my server and the gear I have will be replaced in Naxx).
Also, from working with the Spreadsheet, Deadly MH/Wound OH provides higher DPS only when the OH is of speed 1.4 or lower. Currently, no swords exist in Wrath of speed 1.4, so you will get higher DPS with Wound MH/Deadly OH.
Apart from that, echant your gear, use the Eternal Belt Buckle to get an extra gem slot on your Belt.
