I have a few questions regarding specs and raid performance.

1. I usually do Acane Shot whenever it's not on cooldown on my rotation, is that a DPS loss, rather than doing just steady shot and serpent sting?

2. I am currently specced like this WorldofWarcraft.com -> Info -> Classes -> Hunter -> Talent Calculator
however, I've been wanting to try 50/21, but I do so much damage with this spec, that I'm afraid to switch up for this one, what are the minuses and the pluses of both specs?

Re: frost spec and rotatiosn

I am new to being a mage. My mage is 80 right now and I am a pure frost build. I want to be able to have a good build that is good for pve/pvp. In raids my dps doenst seem to be that great. I wanted to know if anyone has a good dps build that can be used for raids and still be used for pvp as well, and also what spell rotations are being used? When im casting now I will use frostbolt and when I see it pop up to shoot off ice lance or fireball I do. i have good dps on sustained casting but some bosses like the ones in nax, my dps stinks because I have to move around so much and start to cast. Any suggestions for this? I am getting geared pretty well, have lots of epics now, I just need to get a good build and casting rotation down. I thought about the 0/53/18 build but have been told that it is good for raiding and not pvp and im looking to do both. Any help/advice would be appreciated. I have read so many posts about different builds and have tried a few of them. Most I read say Frost is better for pvp and pve if doing both, all my points are in my frost tree at the moment.

Come on!. How come on one server HaT is buged and on other not. Read my piervous post.
DT crits adds CP on one server and doesnt on other is this correct ?

Naxxramas - Zone - World of Warcraft will show you that in Naxxramas for example all but Grand Widow Faerlina (Humanoid) and Maexxna (Beast) are not murderable because they are undead.

Malygos, Sartharion + adds are all Dragonkin, Archavon is by definition a Giant and as a result murderable too.

So basically its 16 non-murderable bosses and 8 murderable bosses.
i guess then combat would be better to use since 16 to 8 is a lot of difference :S

I havnt actually tried duel wield yet on my DK but i think it can be a promising DPS spec

First post here, so be gentle! xD; I've started a hunter, and currently 44.

General shot rotation is Hunter's Mark (macro'd it so my pet attacks when I cast it), auto shot, then serpent sting. In levellin, shot rotation doesn't matter so much. But in raiding, it's all about timing your cooldowns appropriately to maximize your DPS.

I'm thinkin of spec'in as BM Talent. Been searchin through the thread to find the specific order in which shots should be fired. Steady Shot > Serpent Sting > Auto Shot, and repeats?

Also usage of Beastial Wrath and Kill Command at the same time, and Rapidfire in the beginnin of the shot rotation then what it expires, use Readiness to refresh?

All this is down to math, and it's somewhat hard to understand.

If possible, someone can tell me what order my shots should be fired and which abilities should be used at certain intervals?

Sikas almost every thread in this forum has a summary of availible trustable information on first page. So people who are new to the class can learn it faster. Usage of Bestial wrath and Readiness with timing calculations were posted more than once in different threads. So if you spend 5-10 minutes to search you can easily find it. No point to post it numerous times. As a small tip i can say that 50/21 readiness build gives you a chance to use BW 5 times during 4 minute fight.

Not at all. For me personally it takes a full stack of sunders and FF up to make ArP even with Crit. Pretty much even keel as far as secondary stats go.

Hello.. Simple question... What stat is prefered when you get into some epics...

My Hunter: The World of Warcraft Armory

Cause i remember reading a post on the wow-europe hunter forums and all the hunters that posted there agreed that AP was the way to gem... since 16agi isnt worth it :S

The reason I'm saking is should i go for agi enchant and gems or is ap better all the way... I know my critt will drop a bit if i ditch my 8 agi 8 critt gems for maby 16ap 8 critt and 32 ap but whats worth most?

Ok, reposting something for a friend, as they and now I, are curious as to how this would work out.


I've seen a couple of theorycraft addons for WoW which add an average of the amount of damage each shot can do, to the button/tooltip for each shot.

However, none of them seem to have Explosive Shot added, so I wanted to ask people what the total formula for it is, if they know. If I can figure out how, I might try and add the formula to the addon myself.

My paperdoll weapon damage is 793-904, and my RAP with Dragonhawk is 2,303. So what I'm wondering is, would ES' average base damage be 849 (average weapon damage) + 385-425, (RAP * 0.08 ranges with ES bonus added in) thus totalling 1, 254, with an average crit of 2,884? The crit coefficient that I used to get to that number was 2.3, which includes the +30% from Mortal Shots.

The number of 2.8k feels about right, compared with what I've seen in battlegrounds, although maybe a little high, (say 400 or so) but that makes sense because armour is of course a moving target, and so I couldn't factor that into the above. An armour factor of around 12% would move it back down to the 2.4k mark though, I'm thinking.

Does anyone think my numbers are wrong, here?
