This is one of those questions that crops up a lot and the simple answer is right now always mainhand crusader, cinder or razor on offhand is a matter based on your raid composition.

I see. Pardon for me not trolling the 47 page thread, but has it been proven that for a 32/39 build a crusader proc would be more beneficial than a cinderglacier proc?

I recently experimented with a dual wielding Restoration spec 0/31/40
WorldofWarcraft.com -> Info -> Classes -> Shaman -> Talent Calculator
The points put into Enhancement make Earthliving weapon add 30% more spellpower to each weapon, and makes flametounge totem add 15% more spellpower. By dual-wielding you can place the Earthliving enhancement on each weapon. This provides a HUGE boost to your spellpower, however it does not boost your single target heals as much as you would think. You lose the talent Tidal Waves:
Tidal Waves (rank 5):
You have a 100% chance after you cast Chain Heal or Riptide to lower the cast time of your next Lesser Healing Wave or Healing Wave spell by 30%. In addition, your Healing Wave gains an additional 20% of your bonus healing effects and your Lesser Healing Wave gains an additional 10% of your bonus healing effects.
This 20% loss on Healing Wave and 10% loss on Lesser Healing Wave brings our single target heals back to about where they were without the Dual-Wield. The loss of the 30% haste, and Riptide lower our “emergency healing” significantly. Losing Earth Shield, Riptide, and Tidal Waves, makes this spec not viable for 5-man Heroic healing (since you have no other healers) and 10-man raiding (Your lifesaving is NEEDED in 10-mans). HOWEVER, 25-man Heroic Raids is where this spec shines. Since there is no Tidal Waves type talent for chain heal, this spec provides a huge boost in the power of Chain Heal. In 25-man, Shaman are often assigned to raid healing because of Chain Heal, and with this spec boosting mainly Chain Heal it is AWESOME for the CH spam.
Sadly, I will not be keeping this this spec for the time being, however, as soon as i hit 25-man raiding consistently, DW Resto, Here I come!!

I chain heal on Patchwerk, and I have no had any problem with melee getting hatefuls due to their health getting above the tanks. If I were to just LHW spam one tank, the melee would invariably get heals sometime throughout the fight that would get them over the tanks through ancestral awakening procs. Our melee doesn't take a dip in the goo to get their health low like a lot of folks even, which is what I figure your guild does based on you being concerned about them getting heals, we just keep tank health really high and overheal a lot. Have your melee click off fort and stuff to get their health a little lower if your tank health is not comfortably high enough, every little bit helps I guess. You will indeed get a lot more overall effective healing or HPS from chain healing patchwerk-25 from what I have seen doing it a couple different ways.

This is the build I will be trying out soon. I think it has the threat necessary to MT and very good survivability. I don't see many people utilizing a build like this though, give or take a few points, but with the buff coming to Necrosis I think it will do well.

Patchwerk DPS
Hey guys, I was wondering abit how people are able to top about 6k DPS on patchwerk, For me it seems far from possible, Im using a scorpion as pet atm and my gear isnt that bad (you can check by clicking my character name on the left side), On patchwerk it seems like im only able to maintain 4.5k - 4.7k DPS, So im wondering what im doing wrong, im spamming the button untill my fingers starts to bleed & im using my cd's properly, Since im using a scorpid i prefer AotB over AotD on patchwerk and its was a dps increase of about 150-200dps. So im just curious how should i do to be able to put out more damage..
Thanks in advance!
This is the macro i use
#showtooltip Steady Shot
/script UIErrorsFrame:UnregisterEvent("UI_ERROR_MESSAGE");
/cast Kill Shot
/script UIErrorsFrame:RegisterEvent("UI_ERROR_MESSAGE");
/cast !Auto Shot
/cast Steady Shot
/cast [target=pettarget, exists] Kill command

Best In Slot
|
After about 2 months of raid testing and comparisons, it appears that it is in your best interest to use 4pc - despite the fact that it uses several weaker pieces than offset items would offer, the ~4% increased dps and 55mp5 (which allows heavy usage of consecrate without mana issues) are worth it. Note that as you do more dps, the 4% damage gain scales with you; so a paladin doing an average of 3000 dps would see a ~120 dps boost, but a paladin in topend gear doing 5000 dps would see a 200 dps boost.
|
Thanks, on the first page of the post this confirms my experience as well. Wish I knew that before spending DKP on all those other "best-in-slot" items

Well, there is still a gap of ~100 dps between those pets (Spirit Beast and Devilsaur). I hope this won't be the case once the patch hits live, however I am afraid it will. Would be disappointing somehow, since a lot of us spend much time in finding and taming this pet.

I was wondering if there was an optimal hasterating(attackspeed) for a BM hunter?
I haven't had the time to read through the whole thread, so please bare with me if this question has been answered before.

I experienced this as well. I've got a best-in-slot gear with Belabored Legplates and Zeliek’s Gauntlets/Frosted Androit Handguards and I'm definetely losing dps compared to 4-pc t7,5.

when should I stop gemming strength as a main stat? I always match good socket bonuses but my raid dps seems to be annoying lower than I'd expect. if I had to guess I'd say its been mainly from the lack of critting and the seemingly huge gaps where I'm out of rage.
heres my armory:

Apologies if this has already been discussed somewhere, but I am having a difficult time finding it (yes, I've read through the majority of the latest posts)...
I am noticing a difference in thinking between gemming for AP vs agility with specific regard to BM and MM builds. I'm seeing some top hunters gemming all AP, and others gemming Agility... So which is best for BM or MM?
Is there some base numbers to hit before gemming one vs the other, or is it a personal preference? I'm curious to know why people are gemming/enchanting AP so heavily as of late.

For me thats a main problem.

Well unfortunately i dont prefer haste over ap, the haste comes with the gear. I dont see whats wrong with my talents im pretty satisfied with how they are, Readiness is pretty good.
Also as you can see i'v pretty muched socked all my gear with AP gems due to i think that provides more to BM, I dont know if its the correct decision.
What talent/specc would you suggest i went, should i skip readiness and but in IMP tracking instead for the 5% more damage.
I have a WWS report from yesterdays raid which is bugged on me where my pet dosnt count in from time to time on different bosses and showes that im almost last, but there are a few bosses that are correct that you can check atleast, dont know how much assistance it is but its something atleast.

Being Lazy is definitely something you're good at. Almost all the information you're after can be found on this forum with a few minutes searching. The purpose of this thread is to progress knowledge and understanding of FFB, not to tell you how to play. I'd say you should be looking at the Mage: Simple Questions/Simple Answers thread, but really you should be looking at the Search button.

Thanks for the compliment, I take pride in being lazy.
Sorry for wasting your time. Maybe you should be lazier, a simple "L2 Search Noob" would have been a sufficient answer, and still delivered the same unhelpful and degrading message.

Currently specced Unholy for tanking: 10/8/53
Armory link
Very satisfied with it so far, with bladed armor providing an extra boost to my AE and single target threat.
Currently using the Bone Shield, Icebound Fortitude and Icy Touch Glyph (in order to be able to pop Unholy Blight earlier). Minor glyphs used are Pestilence, Horn of Winter, and Blood Tap. Will probably switch Icy Touch with the Death and Decay Glyph and the Horn of Winter Glyph with the Raise Dead Glyph when 3.0.8 goes live.

actually im thinking after howling blast loses its cooldown a good aoe rotation will be
u start with bbffuu runes
use icy touch, pestilence, howling blast, blood boil rune dump
u should now have bDffuu
so do icy touch, pestilence, howling blast x 2 rune dump
if thier still alive go back to the first part and start all over.
i could be wrong, somebody correct me if i am, but that should up our aoe dps alot in theory.
