Best Pre-MC Tank Gear?

Please help me out so my guild can kick ass.

Draconian Deflector any good up to that point?

The set bonuses suck.

I mean, seriously, I have 8/8, and the only bonus I get is:

Equip: Get laughed at, fucking n00b.

Draconian Deflector. Stonegrip Gauntlets. Kromcrush's Chestpiece. Redoubt Cloak. Stuff like that.

Get a lot of +def, high armor, and stamina. Enchant with more +sta.

And you're good to go.

Also if you do Z'G you can get a number of very nice tank items fairly early in that zone.

Its not great, but a place to start. I'd strongly recommend focusing on ZG, its sorta self obvious which stuff that drops there is good for tanking.

That and in EQ there was no "Gurgthrock recievs loot [Red Dragonscale Protector]" so it was sometimes gone before you knew it was on the body O_O that's ninjatastic.

Bulky Iron Spaudlers, Vigorsteel Vambraces, Golem Skull Helm, Medallion of Grand Marshall Morris, and Warmaster Legguards are some other good things I can think of.

The nicest shoulders are the ones the demon in west drops. I always remember that, they were swank.

Also enchanted thorium helm is sweet.

Look up 'bloodsoaked' in ZG. Much of that stuff is almost as good as Might.

If you've got a warlock friend doing his epic mount quest(or who has done it) the demon in DM:W that it summons drops some very nice bracers.

Stuff I can think of offhand, assuming you aren't doing ZG.

Weapon: Hedgecutter from the named guards in DM:N, has decent dps and lots of stamina
Chest: Ornate Adamantium BP from the Tirion fordring line
Gloves: Force Imbued Gauntlets from the DM:W hunter lady
Helm: Golem Skull Helm from Phalanx in BRD or the enchanted thorium crafted one
Shoulders: Bulky Iron Spaulders from the DM:N guards
Bracers: Fel Hardened Bracers from the warlock mount quest guy
Legs: Enchanted Thorium Leggings (crafted)
Belt: Stalwart Clutch from the quest to kill Incendius
Boots: Most of them suck, Bloodsoaked Greaves if you are doing ZG
Cloak: Redoubt cloak from DM tribute
Shield: Draconian Deflector from UBRS
Neck: Medalion of Grand Marshall Morris
Rings: Band of the Ogre King, Ring of Protection

Timeworn Mace from Prince in DM is also a popular choice. You also get a chance at a Quel Serrar while you try for it.

You can look pretty standing around in Org, and it's a little better for DPS than the other options.

Valor is garbage. Refer to the pieces listed above.

Get the Ornate BP from the Fordring line or Kromcrush's BP which is similar in quality.
